TK Monkus Requesting ANH-S Pre Approval Review (RS)

After adding foam I added some tabs to the sides to help stop them from coming outwards. -
TK Monkus Requesting ANH-S Pre Approval Review (RS)
gmrhodes13 replied to TK Monkus's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Adding foam should help the sides come inwards You may be stuck with the detonator as I think RS use a permanent glue, they just seem to rush theses days and a little rough in spots, just look at the right side end cap, not a very straight line at all. Correct it was the metal brackets I was referring too but if you try to cut anything of the end of them you will either be left with a gap or have to move the holes, again I think you may be stuck the way they are. Really up to your DO's for higher level approval, for basic approval you should be fine -
TK Monkus Requesting ANH-S Pre Approval Review (RS)

Be very careful using a heat gun on those, they are quite thin and can easily be cooked, I have in the past just given a little bend by hand, just in a few places to help them sit flush -
You could also add a slight curve to the sides depending on how they fit (screen used on right)

It's one version I've not researched before but when you start delving deeper you can see faint lines in quite a few images, you have to magnify but faint lines can be seen in this image Here's a few more images (once again very faint) which could be useful once there is a CRL update thread and it is up for debate Prominent in these two images Personally I'm still seeing the pauldron as red, especially when you look at the last few images with no lighting reflection. Also compared to another game version trooper, Heavy Weapons which is definitely an orange And here's the Mandalorian Incinerator trooper's pauldron it is also red and has the sewn lines which would make the versions a consistent look Anyway sorry for hijacking your thread, back to building

Doing great, always best to check before diving into adding holes Some references for you to check against

You may have an issue with the orange pauldron, from the CRL: Pauldron A red neck ornament made of leather or a leather-like material, worn over the right shoulder. Although I agree it doesn't match the red of the armor Also it shouldn't have sewn lines in the colored section like you have

FNG, no wait... FTL900 TK ANH build thread.

I don't have much space when putting my helmet on, there's definitely more once you've turned the helmet straight when on, the only electronics I have in the helmet is a fan. Could be a few things, how much opening you have at the base, may need more trimming, also the position of the front section to the rear and also the angle can adjust the opening too. Perhaps a few images of your opening may help, also a photo of the sides to see how they are assembled. -

Nice work the only downside is you can see the ridges of the elastic which is quite noticeable, I found doubling over the fabric quite a few times helped stiffen it ( from memory I folded 5 times) also using a stiffer fabric can help. I also add a piece of plastic in the section the belt will be hung on, not as important with an ESB as you use the loops but can help any sag when the blaster is holstered. Here is an image from the How To Belt thread, notice how close to the edge the elastic is, also the stiffness of the fabric when compared to yours Holster stiffener He used Heavy duty canvas, I used a similar duck canvas which is a little thinner and cheaper

TK Monkus Requesting ANH-S Pre Approval Review (RS)

Looking good Matt, just in regards to your ab/kidney, being a skinnier guy myself I had to add some foam behind the kidney to help get the sides to sit correctly, @ 2", there is the option to trim some off the sides but I wanted to keep them standard sized if I ever wanted to on-sell the armor. Lastly just check the measurements on your detonator, also note the brackets don't get rounded off on the control panel side Wishing you the best of luck with approval, hope we see you with some numbers soon -

Stripes are coming along well. May be the photo but looks as if your last blue ab button is slightly bigger than the others, be entirely up to the DO's though. I find once dry you can go around the edges with wooden pop-stick or scrap of abs plastic and you can scrape away any excess paint around the edges. -

Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper -
No measurements unfortunately, you may be able to speak with RS Prop's, they may still have the box they found. There are a few builds around https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/another-drop-of-cargo-star-wars-storage-boxes.244583/ http://r5-d4astromechdroid.blogspot.com/p/scanner-crew-transmitter-storage-box.html?m=1 Lots of 3D files out there, here's one https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/star-wars-imperial-crate-3-2-parts Some interesting crates and barrels for references
-
Only info I could find: The crates were presumably mostly found items and not constructed for the film. The cubes with the grooved sides and round holes on each face, for example, were made of vacuformed plastic, but nobody knows what for. A British company called RS Prop Masters, which makes stormtrooper costumes, says they found one but don't know what they were made for either. Two of these cubes were put together and painted blue to create the carrying case used by the Death Star scanning crew in Docking Bay 327. Oddly, for a working bay used to capture and detain potential miscreants, the set is filled with an assortment of barrels and crates, many of which are out in the open where ships will land. This was probably in part to make the set look busier and real, but also because a cluster of narrow barrels was used to conceal the metal rod used to prop up the Falcon set. The majority of the crates and barrels were probably regular commercial products in common use at the time. Many seem to be large plastic barrels for shipping industrial products or agricultural supplies or whatever, but painted to make them a bit more interesting.
