M38/M40 variants screenshots help
jkno replied to jkno's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thank you very much Germain! Much obliged! Maybe the cool screenshots you made should also be used as archive for people here making an E-11 and looking to choose what kind of scope to use for that particular blaster. Edit: spelling -
M38/M40 variants screenshots help
jkno replied to jkno's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks Germain. Unfortunately I cannot access the larger photos, flickr doesn't allow it. BTW I have both types of scopes: the M38 which is exactly like the scope on top of the photo above, and an M40 that looks like the lower one. -
HOWTO: Hengstler Counter Maintenance and Adjustment
jkno replied to usaeatt2's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Fantastic topic! Especially for people who want to adjust their Hengstler counters. -
Interesting topic! Congrats on the courage to clean up the paint on the M38.

I think we all know that M38/M40 scopes come in a few variants. I would like to know if someone has a good high-res movie screenshot with both of the below types of M38/M40: the one with the front foot (as put on an E-11) that drops straight down, and the one with the front foot having a curve (Master Replicas used the latter on their E-11). Thanks

Deac L2A3 Sterling Restoration
jkno replied to Plasticarmyman88's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I'm always amazed at how ugly they can cut up a deact. Sterling, and how a telented maker can create a great E-11 out of it. Very cool!! -
Indeed a very nice blaster!

I'm wondering about a few things regarding the Stormtrooper armor for example: - what will be the difference in accuracy, materials and other features/options compared to the TK armor released by eFX - what will be the price compared to eFX Stormie armor (and, why not, other suits of armor) - how long it will take for Anovos to release their stuff - what will be this "Vader garb" in the end

These guys will replace Museum Replicas and will start making Star Wars costumes too. ANOVOS Productions LLC | ANOVOS Productions LLC Channel Han, Luke, and Darth with official 'Star Wars' costumes - CNET "You don't have to join the Rebels, be best friends with a Wookiee, or make a doomed deal with an Emperor to get your hands on replicas of costumes worn by Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Darth Vader in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back." The official "Star Wars" replica costume collection comes from elite nerd costumier Anovos. It premieres with three outfits -- Luke Skywalker's Bespin uniform (with holster), Han Solo's iconic outfit and, later in the summer, Darth Vader's intimidating garb. Replica costumes range in size from small to XXL and are considered unisex. "Our new 'Star Wars' collection goes way beyond simple costumes," Anovos CEO Joe Salcedo said in a press release. "They're based on the original costume designs and patterns used in the production of these classic movies." Presales for these licensed wearable replica costumes start on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, beginning with the three outfits from "The Empire Strikes Back." Pieces from the collection will premiere during the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo from April 25 to 27. Later in the year, under the banner of "Kamino Armor Works," Anovos will expand its collection with armor-based costumes, including bounty hunter Jango Fett's outfit and the Clone Trooper suit from "Star Wars" Revenge of the Sith." The company plans to include wearable armor and costume replicas of Stormtroopers, Biker Scouts, Sandtroopers, and various Clone Trooper styles." ---------------- Now I'm wondering about a few things regarding the Stormtrooper armor for example: - what will be the difference in accuracy, materials and other features/options compared to the TK armor released by eFX - what will be the price compared to eFX Stormie armor (and, why not, other suits of armor) - how long it will take for Anovos to release their stuff - what will be this "Vader garb" in the end

Full resin E-11 from DoopyDoo's with some modifications
jkno replied to T-Jay's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
A simply fantastic build!! Love the blaster you made! -
Very sharp castings! I like the cold cast scope!
-
For a resin blaster this would be quite ok, but for metal ones or Sterlings bracket could be the best option, thus not damaging the original blaster.
-
Exactly. If you want to go uber accurate then you can glue yours, otherwise almost and position is ok. There are even some that are not parallel with the barrel, just look at this guys:

What Stormtrooper figure is that? The upcoming Jakks one?

Exactly, good post. For a dedicated airsofter this weapon is quite uninsteresting compared to other modern or even classic rifles, SMG's etc. out there. I have friends who are big into airsoft, some spent thousands and thousands of dollars on their gear, buying only the best stuff available, and when I showed it to them, they were quite unimpressed. They even asked me why making such an obsolete airsoft weapon (which doesn't come with the cool modern upgrades you can have for others). I explained what this was for SW fans and their reaction was: "Aaaah, we get it, LOL". This airsoft Sterling C1 is like a wink, it was made more for airsofters that are also SW fans, or for SW fans, than for a regular airsofters. And that might be one of the reasons it goes for more money compared to other weapons of similar type. Star Wars sells, and then why not more money for the company. They don't even need to get a license from Lucasfilm/Disney to make it, and still they realize this is more than just an airsoft weapon, you can chage it into E-11. Thus why not ask more for this, especially knowing that as usual SW fans will pay for it...

I missed on RPF last year on a perfect MGC for $600. There was one for sale there not long ago either for about $1100, it might still be. So the price can be high or it can be low, depending on luck and patience. And I have lots of patience. And sometimes luck too.
-
If I would be desperate for the ROTJ E-11, I'd save some more money and then look around and buy a MGC. Thankfully I'm not that interested in the ROTJ E-11, and the big price for this one makes me even less interested. If it was around $300 then would be another story. Hopefully Denix will wake up and make a Sterling ... or even 2.

For $518 I'm out. Add shipping to that and it becomes way too expensive. Some more $ and you could get a demilled Sterling. And not to forget this is for the base gun, you still need to upgrade it to become a ROTJ E-11

I'm really curious to know its price already. We get tons of pics and videos, but we need more details about price.
