  1. Very nice build! A bit of weathering will make it even cooler!
  2. Great video! Indeed it is cool to see how the real Sterling works. I disassembled mine partially long ago when got it, due to demiling restrictions total disassembly was not possible
  3. For such an expensive item and they went with MR T-tracks?
  4. It always saddens me seeing a Sterling chopped off like this. But I'm sure with some work this will be great!
  5. Very nice Rebels Stormie blaster conversion!
  6. To be clear there are 2 types of Master Replicas (MR) / EFX Collectibles Stormtrooper helmets: 1. MR Collector's Edition (MR CE) / EFX Precision Cast (EFX PCR), both made out of ABS and symmetrical - they are identical to each other except the producer label 2. MR / EFX Limited Edition (LE) helmets made out of fiberglass, with edition plaque, COA and stand - this is more of a collector piece. MR managed to make only 1048 helmets IIRC, and when EFX took over they made another 500 of the exact same helmet, but with different plaque, stand and COA (but the helmet itself is 99% identical to MR) The MR CE/EFX PCR are a tad bigger than any of my other TK helmets I own: TE2, RS Prop Masters, ATA and SDS. As for accuracy it is less accurate than any of the other helmets i own due to its symmetrical appearance. Though a nice helmet. And as I said recasting it in NOT a good thing because EFX might come after you since it is still in production.
  7. EFX continued the making of MR CE helmets since EFX continued after MR got out of business. So if you recast MR CE helmet you recast EFX PCR helmet, and that is bad since the molds are still in use.
  8. I know this is a OLD thread, but does anyone have the "door catch" greeblie made out of metal for sale? A run maybe?
  9. You said: "My point being, regardless of who has the license if everyone in the legion believed ANOVOS were being shenanigans and decided to request their money back what do you think that would do to the company, financially?" My answer is: not much. It won't be somehing they'd enjoy, but even in a hypothetical situation like you described above, I'm sure they have many orders to keep the line, from non-501st customers. There are 9 friends of mine who are not 501st and ordered the Anovos armor.
  10. There are A LOT of people who are not in 501st and pre-ordered the Anovos armor.
  11. The pic above I always keep close. And I always use it when people start bad mouthing our beloved white plastic troopers. After seeing it everyone realizes it is more to the Stormies than you first thought.
  12. Exactly. No matter how accurate or cool the fan made armors (or props in general) are, the licensed ones will always have priority in the eyes of the licensor (Disney). We know most of the time licensed stuff is not as accurate as the fan made items (heck, some licensed stuff is hilariously creepy), but regular joe might view the licensed as the only viable option for him. And licensors know that too. The good thing is that Anovos guys are coming from our world, prop makers and prop lovers. They understand what people want and what their budget allows. So I think they will go the fine line of accuracy vs. budget availabiilty.
  13. One rough, but accurate blaster. I LOVE IT!!!
  14. I have quite a few EFX items in my collection: TIE Fighter model (love it), Stormtrooper LE helmet, Vader Legend helmet, Vader LE helmet (sold it when got the Legend - wish I had space for both though) and Scout on pre-order. I like their stuff, not always the most accurate, quite expensive, but most are made very well. The issues I see are with their lack of communication combined with huge delays, lack of prompt customer service, sometimes the collectibles are not as advertised to be (Legend Vader is awesome, but not the ultimate Vader helmet, being heavily cleaned up), and the insane shipping cost they give to most international customers.
  15. Interesting. Maybe it was customized on field to be used on a different device than a tank or if/when the mounting legs were broken.
  16. Same here, my flexible mannequin can hold a resin/plastic E-11 blaster, but no way it will hold a Sterling or a Master replicas metal one.
  17. There are always the EFX "cheerleaders" out there, who will be happy with anything EFX makes, no matter how much time has passed since announcing the product, or even more important, since the paid pre-order. Many don't truly care about accuracy, never did - that is just a meaningless word, they care about low edition number (thus bigger monetary value in their eyes). They are happy to get a "classy display" containing a helmet, studio scale or a prop, especially if it comes with a numbered plaque (the lower the better), COA and display case. They also don't care about EFX's lack of communication and customer service. If a product will be released in 20 years, they will be happy like they hit a gold mine. Most of them didn't have any product issues with EFX (so far), and also there are some who believe that by supporting the company, EFX might remember them some day and obtain this way some favor (some people did indeed). Then there are the EFX "haters" who don't like EFX's lack of communication and customer service. Very few say they don't like the actual EFX product, some of them wish it was more accurate to the described product, delivered faster or at least in a timely manner, even though research on it by the company might be still needed. They might have enocountered some EFX problems before: damaged product on various levels, lack of response with credit card issues, lack of communication from EFX when something went wrong with the order/product, distribution issues etc. They want EFX to treat them with some respect by explaining the delays, especially when they are occuring for such a long time without any information - a newsletter or updated site would work too. They also consider one of EFX's problems to be that they announce things, they declare them the "ultimate", then they deliver some of them (some not at all) in a looong time, and not always as advertised.
  18. This will be cool to watch like the first episode - loved their take on the AT-ST / armored car
