The stitching is plastic ..easily removed. -
Discount supermarket " Aldi " have chelsea boots in at the moment , at £ 14.99. (as of 11/11/2011) Theyre in black or brown , all adult sizes. They are a little broad in the toe area to be good Starwars replicas , but theyre cheap and available and better than the ones you cant buy Usually Aldi only keep a product on their shelves untill stock rums out , a couple of weeks at the most , so if you want a pair , be quick. Lets face it , at £14.99 theyre cheap enough just to practice painting white . -------

Happy birthday matey , great to see other Troopers in their "more experienced" decade ... Are we the only two ?

Make the belt as tight as you can ..nothing looks worse than a slack belt on a trooper. Thats my best advice. Check screencaps for overlap positioning (use velcro ) and the layout of the components are covered very thoroughly in other threads. Just my opinion , but I like (well fitting)plastic belts. For public trooping they give a trooper a far more "future spaceman" look than a bad fitting canvas one ..(and there are a lot of bad fitting droopy canvas ones out there.) And they hold the blaster neatly. BUT , as I suppose is technically correct , Im not sure if plastic is still clearable with the Garrison.(?)

Chelsea boots brand used in the films?
Rob .T . replied to LittleOne's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I dont ever remember Doc Martens making Chelsea boots ..especially not back then . Back in the 70s there was only one or two styles of Marten soled boots , much loved first by the Skinheads in 72 and then by the Punks in 77 , Chelsea boots weren`t really a fashion item in 77, They were made for Riding and out-of-fashion wear in 77 . -
Go for TM , YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT .

Life-Sized AT-AT Construction Project Planned
Rob .T . replied to BananoPower22's topic in Off Topic
The moron who has come up with this plan says .. " I have an idea, but no money and a total lack of mechanical aptitude. " so, do we really feel it has any chance of happening ? -
The guy mentioned his budget in the first post ... Hay , Justice ..why not put a wanted ad in the relevant section , you could get a couple of FX helmets off members who upgraded for cheap ...

Centurion Requirements : ANH Stunt Discussion
Rob .T . replied to Daetrin's topic in FISD Centurion Program
A.N.H.or E.S.B. screen accuracy is a good idea for a different award , but to get membership would be impossible without T.M. super thin armour ... surelly no other armour maker produces screen accurate armour , its all derrived from R.O.T.J. ,modified over the years. And Only JoeR is selling accurate R.O.T.J. these days. Just a thought as most American members wear TE derrived suits or FX. Oh and I definitely agree with Dmian about Blasters... its an absurdity even for the lower award to allow non accurate looking blasters, for Centurion a good looking blaster must be a requirement. -
What is the official number od tube stripes?
Rob .T . replied to budspencer1971's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
The movie is the official source of everything Stormtrooper... find a screenshot you like , and copy that helmet . Simple . There can be no official figure because they varied in the Movies (except for Mr NoStripes of course , who was pretty conscistant. -
There are other costuming groups. As I dont just specialise in Star Wars, I have never needed to join the 501st . I troop as a TK and with other groups, and also with my other costumes/props regularly . This doesnt stop me enjoying this web site , nor does it stop me participating in this forum.

So did you trim the whole kit with a pair of scissors ? This really is a good suit , its good to see example in America, you need to spread the screen accuracy to the land of the FX ...

Most armour belts come with them moulded on , certainly the center one. The two outer ones were to hide the rivets holding the plastic box section onto the fabric belt I think ...just superglue on some small circles of plastic ??
