  2. Not much time to build over the last week due to work, but found some time to repair the forearms as mentioned earlier. I shaved off both forearms leaving only the return edge: Then I glued 2 pieces of 2mm acrylic pieces together as I wanted a 4mm depth, but could not find any sheet that was that thick: Next, I bevelled off the edge, so that it will sit behind the return edge and be flush from the front, glued it in place, and filled the gap with more CA glue. After sanding down the front to make the acrylic flush with the return edge, I cut the pillbox recess. And then finally shaved off the rest of the excess at the bottom. This is how it looks after sanding and priming. Did the same to the other arm. Before final sanding and priming: And the finished forearm: Both forearms completed. A tedious step, but I think the results are worth it.

  3. OK, here is what I was able to find in my bin, but I'm missing a baggy or something as there are coins I know I had several of but can't find anymore. What I'm missing and can't seem to find - Joint MEPD/FISD Coin What I'm missing and never had - Pride - 1.1 Silver (3 knuckle) - 1.1 Gold (3 knuckle) - v8 gold (FOTK version) I have like 5 versions at least that say "1st" or "First" of the regular coin, but at some point should educate myself on which is which in terms of "version" numbers. I think I'm missing a certain version of gold EI too, but am not sure which. I have easily over 100 coins, so have stock to trade for what I'm missing, though as you might imagine some coins like the gold ones I only have 1 each and they are not up for trade, nor are my 1.0 coins as they are super hard to find.

  12. I didn't realize that I stopped updating this build log as I pushed for membership. From the last picture I see the old lock for shins which just did not hold because of the tension and force pulling glued stips off. So I switched to a slot lock much like the ab/kidney. I put double hooks on right shin and a single hook on the left as an experiment. This proved that making the two hooks was harder to stay glued down but holds the shin more firmly with less shifting. Both work so have not replaced the single with the double design yet. Also it appears I never shared the right side slot lock of the ab/kidney which was much simpler not having to work around the rivets.

  14. I use a whole punch in some decal sheet and use those as a templates. Sometimes it can be the brush you use with painting. A thread that may be of use:

Both of them are "Canon" but if you're talking about screen accuracy, It depends of how you build your armor. The Higher levels of the Crl let you make an armor more screen Accurate. Personally I Prefer ANH Stunt but is up to every person. Cheers.

  18. REPAIR FOREARM BAD PULL So, I realised that my left forearm (bottom half) suffered a bad pull during the vacuum-form. Here you can see the comparison between the correct (right) and the one with the bad pull (left). After taking off the excess ABS which cannot be used, you can see that the recessed long bullet is almost gone, and the width of the wrist opening is so much wider: So, I drew the outline of the right Forearm piece on Styrene and cut it out roughly: Then, I removed most of the ABS from the forearm, leaving just enough to make the return edge and hold the styrene in place later: Then I glued the styrene piece behind the return edge, and indicated where I should cut to match the right Forearm: Here's how it looks cut: Next, I caked the area with epoxy putty, and pressed a little recess for where the bullet recess will be, and let dry. After it was dried, a little sanding and smoothening, and after spray a coat of primer to see the results, I am pretty satisfied with this repair job: Now it looks much better!

  22. Hey trooper, Great to hear you’re aiming high! :-) For EIB and Centurion, you don’t actually need someone local - you apply here on FISD. As long as you have been cleared at basic by your GML, you can apply for EIB and then Centurion. The links are in this thread; https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35371-eib-and-centurion-what-do-these-terms-mean/ Any questions, just shout. :-) Dan

  23. Additional work last week, then on the long weekend Bulldog44 came into Tokyo to help with some additional building and take some photos. First placement of sniper knee, like every AP armor kit the sniper knee needs to be off center to be level and still I am not happy with the alignment on the sides. Finished up the ab plates and buttons. Attached the thigh ammo belt with rivets, forgot to paint them so will get to that. While in Canada I purchased the suggested super glue and it worked like a charm. There is still some strapping to be done on the arms to keep them in position. See below for painting those rivets. This is the telling photo, the right shin did not hold and will need a redo or new approach. Also noticed for the first time the TS clips were too long. Next day cut the AP provided TD clips down to screen accurate length, will need to add some bends into it as well. Painted the side rivets and helmet screws, forgot the thigh ammo belt rivets so paint will come out again. So the work continues but that mountain top is in sight.
