  1. Now the new term is upon us I will work to bring this full circle. DL announcement for the new term will be posted later today with an overview of the plan for this term. I am excited to make this a reality and we have some lovely staff ready to be engaged and assist in growing or female presence on the forums.

  6. Next was the slots in the shoulder for the shoulder bell support brackets and strapping. I put the chest/back on and marked the top of the shoulder with tape. Then I marked with pencil where the slots would be located. Then I drilled holes to mark the ends of each slot: Next I used the cutting wheel on my dremel to cut the slots. It was pretty nerve wracking since these areas are really narrow, but it turned out ok: Then I sanded them a bit, then did a rough fit with the shoulder bracket and strapping. Looking pretty good: And with me just holding the bell in place: Then I glued the shoulder brackets in place with E6000: Next I decided to cut some slots in the ab for the 2” strapping that I’m going to use as a suspension. I got the idea from Captain’s Drydock on YouTube. I used the same technique as I did on the shoulders, drilled holes to mark the ends of the slots: Then used my dremel to cut the slots on the front and back: Rough fit with the strapping: I’ll also be using some parachute clips to make it adjustable and easy to get in and out of.

  10. With my ANH Stunt build finally complete (though I still need to catch up on updating that thread) and approved to L3 I'm now turning my attention to the first of three conversions. First out of the gate will be the ESB variant since it will require the least amount of work, and my goal is to complete it to L3 standards. At this point I've acquired all the components needed and below is my conversion checklist. Helmet (using my raffle-won WTF bucket) Remedy brow trim height (lower) Strip all existing paint except on hovi tips Apply ESB decals from Trooperbay Re-sand and paint frown teeth black Touch up white hardware paint on ears, improve countersink holes Finesse ear fitment to face and cap (sanding) Sand hovi tips for clean white rim look (currently has black over-paint) Reinstall fallen-out hovi tip mesh (already proper wider variety) Armor/Other Convert ANH holster with tan straps to black looped ESB style New belt from Imperial Issue (Rob Kittell) to eliminate ANH holster screw holes New rubber gloves from Joseph (downsized to small from previous medium) Clamshell hand guards from Joseph (unsure of armor maker) ESB Hellhounds E-11 blaster (lacking hengstler counter and power cylinders) RESOURCES TK: ESB CRL Justin's Anovos ESB Conversion Luca's RS ESB Conversion ESB Expert Infantry Visual Checklist ESB Centurion Visual Checklist TheRascalKing's (Justin) Anovos Centurion submission CallMeMrTibbles (Richard) RWA Centurion submission Cleantrooper (Brett) TM Centurion submission giskard8 (Arthur) TM Centurion submission Table of Contents (links updated as posts completed) Introduction Post with Checklist and Resources Helmet Modifications Belt and Holster Conversion Clamshell Handguards Hellhounds E-11 Submission Photos

  12. Hi Ardeshir , and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Looking at the under suit, it looks very wrinkled in that area, not a big deal and probably noticeable only when under direct light. But we pointed since we can see it Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Moving down the calves , they seem too big, a lot of gap can be seen between the armor and the leg(pic. 1). This is something we could see in your previous TFA application (pic. 2), but it seems that in this case, it is a bit more evident... #1 Current app different angle #2 Previous TFA app Once more, Congratulations Trooper !!!

  13. You can, Terry! The key points to armor building I always suggest are: 1. Have all your supplies on-hand before beginning. 2. Research. Research. Research. Check out build threads, Expert Infantry and Centurion submission threads specific to AM armor. Each maker has their own little nuances, and it helps to know what these are. If you need help finding these, just ask. 3. Post lots of photos on your build thread every chance you get (this is especially important when you have an issue). When in doubt, ALWAYS post up pics before cutting/gluing. Trust me on this one. 4. Take.... your....time. I cannot stress that enough. 5. Ask questions, and lots of them. Your questions are just as important to us as they are to you. 6. You will get frustrated/discouraged at times. When this happens, take a step back and refer to item 5 above. We will get you through it. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

  26. Another male here who isn't qualified to provide input on this matter other than to say that inclusion of and support for all our female-identifying peers should be of utmost importance, and I'm happy to see progress with this sub group initiative. Lets see this, and the larger FISD community thrive!

  29. This initiative has my full support and I hope to see its creation come to fruition sooner than later. As the largest Detachment in the Legion, frankly it surprises me that this has not happened sooner, and I hope it will go a long way in combating the mentality that stormtrooper building is a 'boys club'. While stormtrooper costumes aren't always as conducive to the shape of many women, having a resource that our female identifying members can turn to to receive relevant help in a respectful manner should have great value. I hope this initiative helps bring more women into the Detachment and helps make them feel more comfortable being here. Big thanks to @Soulart for spearheading, and please let us know how we can support you. Ps., my wife is a Jawa and their fireteam is just named after a bug, so let's not get hung up on the name to the point that it stops progress. I'd suggest just another cool, white-colored animal for our white armor, but most live in the snow... "Valkyries" alone/in general is awesome and I'm surprised it's not taken already! /$0.02

  30. That was a fantastic story. And the name is incredible. The Hand of Judgement - it just sounds menacing. It would really stand out for a team name. Not that I have or should have a say. I'm a guy. Just wanted to "me too" the enjoyment of Zahn's rogue trooper story. -edit- I told my wife (current ANH TIE pilot) about the possible women's team name and she flipped over Vader's Valkyries. She went so far as to state "I would build TK armor just to be on that team." So that's a vote.

  31. This initiative will 100% happen. Like anything on FISD there is a plan, discussions have been had, and will continue to, so we get the right fit and feel and a home for all our beautiful TK women. Lots more to reveal in the near future, but suffice to say this has the backing of the entire staff and we hope to build something great and further expand on our community.

  32. Sounds like an awesome idea and a logical step for FISD! If I wasn't a man I'd really like for this to come into fruition so I could ask my very personal questions straight out to people with the same fysical experience as me! The FISD has always been about troopers helping troopers so I'd vote for let's make it happen! I can see all peoples perspective and points in the naming, and hope you can agree on a name that feels good for everyone! I personally kind of don't feel like I could suggest any names (although I think this part of a process like this is always super exciting) since the sub team is not for me specifically! However, I just think I'd come out and say that Vaders Valkyries sounds really cool and has the right "ring" and meaning, like it belongs in the Star Wars universe! I'm not qualified to even guess at this but it feels like people that are not defining as either or could get behind the name too, right? If you'd want any additional help on maybe graphics or patches or anything like that - I'm at your disposal!

  33. Hello sisters!! I love this idea, great initiative Teresa. I'm just not convinced to add Vaders to the name, there are more powerful women in Star Wars, why use a male name? Hugs !!!
