Unfortunately due to life things, I haven't been able to work on my armor for a few weeks. But in the meantime, I figured it'd be best to start sourcing the remaining pieces I need. Picked up a neck seal from Trooperbay, which looks and fits great! I dig the velcro a lot. Also after a ton of back and forth on my part, I went ahead and placed an order for a @Hellhounds blaster! I'm super stoked about this. Really love the review from @MaskedVengeance. It helped a lot as well as other great reviews from troopers. I plan on still constructing my Doopydoos kit in the future for a display piece/backup blaster. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on my other thread. Knowing myself and hearing horror stories about blasters breaking, I decided to air on the side of caution and grab the rubber one Lately I've been researching helmet mods on the forum and wow there are a lot of different cool ways to configure the inside of the helmet! I'm for sure going to black out the inside. Still have to acquire some padding for sure. Then I'll decide if I'm going to cut out the visor and stick the lenses on or just screw the long strip on. I have fans from @ukswrath (his com system looks amazing as well) . I don't have a com system yet but it seems like the Aker/Icomm system is very popular. Lots of great reviews and opinions on here. Anyways, that's the update from me! Hope y'all are staying cool!3 points

BBB day!!! Great packing! What have I gotten myself into?! There are so many pieces and they're much bigger than I pictured in my head... I realized I needed a few more supplies (like paintbrush) and put them on order. Washing the pieces now. Then I'll go back to my helmet and try to clean up those spots, helping me decide if I need to spray a little white again...2 points

Once you get your Basic 501st approval, you will then need to apply for Legion access here on the FISD in this thread. After that, have a look at the Visual Checklist here to make sure you are ready for EI and then post up your submission here using the Photo checklist. Looking forward to seeing your results, Andreas! If you have any questions or concerns, always feel free to contact one of us in the D.O. department.2 points

nah totally makes sense, He enjoys Star Wars but may not necessarily love it. It might be more of a bonding thing for you two. My father loves and obsesses over Gundam Wing. I honestly could not care less. But whenever he was building his models I'd "hang out" with him. I still highly treasure those memories for father-daughter bonding, but don't ask me anything about any of the characters or robots. We actually did more together regarding Dragon Ball, which we both enjoy. Though him less than Gundam and me less than Star Wars. But we'd watch the anime together and read the comics, and we'd visit the booths at conventions together before going our separate ways to the fandoms we both truly love. To us Dragon Ball is OK, but the bonus is each other. If my dad loved Dragon Ball to the degree that he loves Gundam, I'd probably be doing the equivalent of the 501st or builds with him. I tend to take random pictures of Gundams when I come across them (very common back in Asia), and he likes to buy me little stormtrooper toys. I may be over 30 now but I'm always gonna be daddy's girl.2 points

Nice work trooper, if I was going to tweak anything it would be to try to even out your brow trim, looks a little lopsided. You have a lot of black showing around the wrists so I would try to bring your biceps and forearms down a little. Also match up the gaps between your shoulder bells, one is a little closer Great work and good luck with EI approval2 points

Hi all! In the grand scheme of things NOT A BIG DEAL I think the new banners showing the different parts of the forum look great! But, I noticed that if I click the image, it shows me the image, not the section. That still requires clicking the name of the section. Recommend considering changing the image into a link as well. Again, NBD, just my two cents (= forum looks great!1 point

Thank you all for the very nice words! So happy that I achieved this - doing a little happy dance in my office haha. Also, thank you very much for reviewing @justjoseph63 I appreciate that you shared with me how I can improve my costume and go for Centurion. Next week the weather will be a bit better in NL - so time for a small build party. Thanks!!!1 point

My father recently sent me an article about some seriously wicked cool Gundam face masks with the comment: "hm. And what are you Star Wars people doing?" I posted to the FISD FB group with 'shots fired!! what are we doing?!"1 point

Did I take a spot? I want to make sure I have been accounted for. Thanks1 point

Glad to hear the E-11 review was helpful in your blaster decision; @kman deserved a lot of credit as well. I think you'll really like the Hellhounds E-11, and at some point down the road hopefully more troopers will carry them!1 point

I'm also 6' and 205ish, I have RS armor and the only big change I needed was to ad shims to the kidney plate. If you are getting a commission done I'm not sure if they would do that for you or not, but either way they will include some spare ABS in case you need to shim things yourself, you just need to ask. The sizing of everything else was fine, I just made sure to not cut too much off of anything until I knew it would fit and look good. Feel free to read my build thread, it's in my signature, or here if you are on tapatalk.1 point

Thanks for the tips. I'm guessing that shoulder is out because the snap broke, so that shouldn't be an issue now. Ill check it when I get a chance. That brow has been nothing but trouble lately, Ill get it sorted out as well :). The Biceps need to stay where they are per the GML, so Ill likely need to lower the forearms down a half inch to an inch to cover that gap, but to not open one up too much around the elbow. Here are before and after pics from the original submission vs EIB. Original EIB Looks like my arms are a bit too long compared to an original TK1 point

That is correct, I did ask for that but apparently it can't be setup that way, would be nice though.1 point

Looks better than my HWT... mainly because I don't have one :D. I might do that sometime because it's a 2fer, add a few things to my TK and boom, I have 2 costumes!1 point

How big are they, can you use them with some blocks of wood or strips of metal. Clamps, painters tape anything can help, even clothes hanger clips can help when you've exhausted your supplies1 point

As long as you give detailed measurements you should be ok, occasionally I've seen a few having to adjust strapping but most seem happy with their purchases.1 point

I'm not quite starting my build yet and I'm not sure how swiftly updates will happen. However, a big brown box was waiting for me when i got home today and I was all too excited to open it up and take an inventory of my kit. It's MTK armor from Trooperbay. I knew it was coming soon but somehow still surprised me how quickly today became the day. cap n' back, faceplate ears (I'm not quite sure if there's a difference between the two or simply a spare set. I swear they both have the 4 ridges but maybe i'm crazy) fastener kit, mic tips, split rivets and washers assorted rubbers: brow trim, neck trim, gloves frown mesh, tube stripes, ear pinstripe tape assorted decals: ab plate, ear rank, helmet chest, abdomen, butt upper back kidney shoulder straps, shoulder bells biceps forearms, handguards (will most likely by ordering/using flexible guards) thighs and calves rivet covers, knee plate, drop boxes, thigh ammo boxes, belt detonator: pipe, panel, caps and swag (not pictured but also included: green lens and extra plastic) Now to wait for more supplies, read some more, watch some more videos, read some more, and formulate the plan of attack. The links and resources in response to my introduction post as well as poking around the forum in general surely prove invaluable. That said, any comments and suggestions are extremely welcomed1 point

I'm glad to hear you guys have found this thread helpful! If definitely took a long time to compile, and it will ever be a work-in-progress to update as I continue to come across other resources. As for pinning, I believe that is up to certain staff members, and I've recently seen @Daetrin and @Ripper_L take such action, though I'm not sure what the criteria are. Either way, I'm glad this thread will be helpful to future builders!1 point

Congrats to Laura (TK 17144) of the Dutch garrison on her recent EI level badge! Only 27 spots left, folks....1 point

I taped off and sprayed some gray on the tear and rear trap that needed touching up. Gave it some time to dry and peeled off all of the tape...looking good!! Sadly, the tape let some gray/black through, but thankfully just light overspray in only a few spots. Tomorrow I'll tape off everything non-white, seal the edges as best as I can, and apply what I hope to be the last coat of white! Since most of it's fine, I'm going to try spraying only the spots that need it, not the whole bucket. I'm sure I'd make other mistakes if I tried doing the whole thing...1 point

OP Post #7 This may go down as my shortest build thread update post ever on FISD. In reality, it's not even an update. Basically I was just anxious to get a peak of what I will sorta eventually look like. For those of you not following along, my ANH Stunt build has been progressing slowly, so basically everything in the photo below is wrong. Black Series helmet, only one rough-trimmed bell, no biceps. And of course I didn't even attach my shoulder ammo pouch, as I really just wanted to see what the pauldron would look like. I'm probably only embarrassing myself by posting this frankensteined image. But alas, these threads aren't about perfection. So here's my good, bad, and the ugly. I have a bad feeling about this... Maybe next time I'll at least add the biceps and shoulder ammo pouch so I don't get featured on the Homemade Costumes thread. Hey, everybody needs to hear/see a good joke sometimes. So laugh it up, fuzzballs.1 point

Hey Lou, Thanks! Just noticed that we're practially neighbors! Are you a GA Garrison member? It's been a slow start to the new year with a flu bug, but I'm managing. My white plastic is staring at me, begging me to get back to assembling it. Once I kick this bug, I'll be full steam ahead on the Hero build. Woo! Here's a taste of the other build that I finished late in 2017. Can you find me? (answer below) Hee hee... I'm the jawa on the left. Being a jawa is fun and very comfy. But it's nothing like being a TK!!! And this is for my own reference, but other Short Builders might find it helpful, too (I refer back to my own threads, is that so wrong?). This is my trim guide for sizing down a TK.1 point
