Greetings from RT-MOD!For the past year and a half, I have been collaborating with Pandatrooper (of Panda Props and Costumes) on the fabrication of RT-MOD armor. Not only has he helped produce armor in his own shop and delivered to my high standards, but he has has helped upgrade many of the molds and bucks to create a more accurate version of the RT-MOD armor. Many elements within the costume have been updated for more accuracy or have been improved in terms of quality, comfort or wearability. Everything is still being fan-made from scratch based on photo references, and scaled up slightly to match the proportions of the current RT-MOD armor. But the time has come for me to officially pass the torch. Going forward, Pandatrooper will be the main contact and fabricator for RT-MOD armor. There will be a new contact email and updates on the latest version of the armor and helmet will be posted soon. As well, there will be some cool upgrades we think you will like! I would like to say I could not have asked for a better, more dedicated individual and have full confidence in Pandatrooper and his skills in carrying the RT-MOD torch. I believe he has a unique skill and dedication that will show in maintaining a high level of quality, care, attention to detail and craftsmanship. Please give him some time for the transition, as well as restocking supplies and also allow him to catch up on some back orders.Keep in mind that RT-MOD has and will be made for fans and hobbyists as time allows. We all have lives and need to take care of that first. From simple beginnings in 2002 to here now in 2019 it has been my pleasure to be able to outfit the bigger trooper candidates with high quality, accurate gear and have enjoyed the fandom and camaraderie of those who partake in the hobby. I want to thank everyone in this community for their support over the years. RT-MOD would not be around without you!1 point

Nice work again, just a couple of things, be mindful of your armor gaps, thighs are a little mismatched in gaps between them and cod, notice it a lot more on the rear, a thigh is hitting the butt plate. Gaps at your elbows are different. Sniper plate is sitting under your thigh, I'd suggest adding foam behind to push it out or it will catch when walking. TD clips should not have rounded ends closest to plate Good luck with approval.1 point

Hiya, No one is really 501st approved, however Troopermaster makers beautiful Hero helmets. If built correctly, these can easily reach Centurion. :-)1 point

The BFG is mine. I earned it, dammit. I *might* let him borrow it, though. Maybe.1 point

I hope we will see him soon at a troop! Most important question now, who gets the BFG?!1 point

So I've been in touch with Andrea, and she's getting some new bells out to me soon. Yay! RS has the best customer support. Love that crew! While waiting, I tore the bells apart... because that's the kind of thing I do when things don't look right to me. First, I gave them both a quick hot water bath to widen them out to fit the width of his shoulders. Next, I shortened the elastic connection in the bells quite a bit. Then I adjusted the white elastic straps at the shoulders connecting the chest to the back. Those were also causing an issue of "bell sag" because that connection was too long. By gluing the elastic to the back plate right next to the #10 snap connector, this gives a ton of support strength to the white elastic. It results in a minimal amount of shifting of the arm away from the shoulder strap itself. If you have too much white elastic in there at the shoulder between the chest and back, your bells will pop out and away, resulting in large black gaps that we all want to avoid. Before and after adjustments: I am quite pleased that I was able to make this adjustment for Mr. Cricket so he can look his TK best. Now we wait for Basic Approval. Fingers crossed that I don't need to make any changes to the kit!1 point

Thank you brother for always being so supportive. Means a lot. Building my fourth TK as we speak hahaha but that’s all just for me. I might do heavy weapons but not sure. We will see.1 point

Nice work, Erick. :-) As per FB, you mentioned the forearms being a little loose - it looks like you could reduce the circumference of them for a more snug fit. At the wrist end you should just about be able to squeeze your mad through (without gloves). Also, if you wanted a challenge you could try trimming the ears down a little more. ;-) Keep yo the good work. :-)1 point

Hi, Another Blaster option could see Praetorian Blasters. Excellent for trooping.1 point

An SDS blaster would not be my first choice, (it's missing the charging handle and I'm not sure if it has a D-ring). For the same money you could get one from Quest Design, which is a lot more realistic looking: https://www.questdesigncanada.com/collections/frontpage/products/star-wars-stormtrooper-e-11-blaster-prop-replica-stormtrooper-v3 If you want to make it even more screen accurate, I would suggest one of Tino's E-11 finishing kits. They are AWESOME! https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28444-fs-completion-sets-for-e-11-resin-kits-with-worldwide-tracked-shipping-and-paypal/ If you enjoy building things yourself you can also go with a resin Doopydoos kit. Be advised that delivery may take a month or so, but they are awesome and can be customized like crazy. https://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e-11-complete-anh-e-11-blaster-kit-offer-2685-p.asp1 point

Since completing this build for a static display, many people encouraged me to “join a troop” and become a member of the 501st. But I really worried to damage the armor - and wasn’t sure about grown-ups running around in movie costumes. One day I met a Stormtrooper in a local traffic jam, identifying ourselves via stickers on the cars. Below is my current company car (shhh, my boss doesn’t know) However, we managed to talk about trooping and all this. At some later point I decided to at least try it and avoid any preconceptions. So I started into a foreign experience, that many of you know so very well… My day in white plastic On a recent Sunday morning I met 10 local people, while the only person I knew was the Trooper from the traffic jam. A few were members of the 501st, others not, but it was a very friendly atmosphere and I really felt welcomed right from the beginning. We drove to a hospital, specialized on children who require maximum care, and were asked to show up on their summer festival. The weather was perfect, a mix of sun and clouds at medium temperatures, no rain. In our dressing room we helped each other getting into the costumes and I was already sweating before we left the room. Felt good and curious. Then we went outside. After just a few steps, a mate in front of me stumbled at the stairs but immediately was caught by the handlers. Nothing happened but seeing this, my feelings mixed up with concerns and a little bit of panic - maybe just enough to also give some attention to our surroundings. We marched to the entrance hall. My lenses fogged up (no active ventilation in my display helmet) and it was hard to see anything. With unsure movement I walked in the group. Thanks to the handlers I didn’t get lost. Later I found ways to reduce fogging by adjusting the balaclava at my nose and slower breathing. The better view allowed safer movements and more interacting with people. From that point it was real fun. Some children were a bit scared, while others made big eyes and smiled. A lot of photos got taken that day and these here really don't judge the atmosphere. Many times I was able to convince shy kids to give me “high five” and pose for a nice picture, taken by the parents. Those were the best moments. And sometimes the adults were even more fascinated than the kids A few children in that hospital unfortunately were not able to leave their rooms and participate at the festival outside, so Lord Vader and I visited as much of them as we could inside their rooms. Sorry, no pictures. But it was amazing when a little boy noticed us entering his room and he said “Woah, I have an action figure from you!” Spent 4 hours in full armor that day (short event) and really felt a bit sad when going back to the dressing room. Although getting 3 serious armor bites at my left knee and a little scratch on my blaster (repaired the same day), I felt the strange need to possibly do this again, someday. We will see if that virus got me. Not saying yes, not saying no... But for the moment I really like to thank the Quettinger Stormtrooper for this ideal trooping opportunity, Alex (Memory) for being such a reliable handler and the Star Wars Fans Aachen for the friendly welcome and the photos from that interesting day.1 point
