  5. I use a "2.4g wireless microphone” that i found on eBay. Im sure you could type the quoted text into Amazon and find the same thing. It has no noticable lag. Here's the link https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132894801262

  12. Hi Matthew and welcome to FISD, great to hear you are going for high levels in your armor build. You may want to look at this forum section and check the EIB (Expert Infantryman) and Centurion. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/113-advanced-tactics/ Also, If I'm rigth, your build is going to be an ANH Stunt Armor so you can check the CRL and see details about the requirements. http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Welcome again and here you're going to find a lot of experienced people hoping to help. Cheers

  14. Thank you very much. Might have to do that next time. Adding a cover strip to the inside and using all my magnets seemed to barely get the job done! ha ha.

  15. Adding some downward pressure to the cover strip and armor sections so it bows then wrapping tape around can help flatten stubborn areas.

  16. Thank you for the tip! I can't wait for my magnets ha ha. I have a few clamps, but they aren't the best, They barely reach over the ridges so I might have to invents on some longer reaching ones.

  17. Nice work, if the bottoms gaps are a little wide you can add some scrap abs behind. Never have enough magnets, clamps and tape

  24. Hi again Ryan and thank you for your Centurion application - let’s get you approved shall we! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. The suggestions to follow are what we feel would make your armor shine to it’s absolute best - let’s get to it! Starting with the helmet and just pushing up the brow trim for a cleaner look. Really nice angle on your ear btw As you went for the screen accurate strapping method we just want to point out that the screws used were slotted as seen in the reference image. Here we suggest to be mindfull when putting on the belt so you can walk away in style. Last on our list is to lower the left thigh to even out the gap. There we have it - again congratulations and head on out as a Centurion of the Empire

  26. I have had dye from black pouches I had for around painted armor run, just on the high spots of the armor touching the pouches but managed to use polish to remove them. I also had the black from an Aker amp microphone leave a stain when they rested on one of the boots, couldn't rub off so had to use a shoe whitener over the top. I did find with the armor I needed to use a coarser cutting automotive polish, it's a little more abrasive and once the stain is removed use a softer polish.

  27. More progress. All Bracket screws holes drilled. Won't post pics of it all. It took a while to measure everything and ensure it was done right. There is very little return on most of the armor parts, so I will be installing backing platers as per ukswraths suggestions in his post. I was waiting for final install of the lest ab/kidney split rivets and straps, plus the brackets and screws until all the hardware was painted. All velcro removed and sticky residue wiped off with Googone Bracket screws and split rivets painted. I used an old model building trick by sticking the screws and rivets into paper, priming with grey primer (2 coats), then spraying with rattle can white paint. 3-4 coats. Screws and rivets were then brush painted with a high gloss clear coat. This is much easier than painting the screws after they are installed on the armor, White shoulder straps and black straps for bell attachment made. The black straps were recycled from original SDS provided straps. Left ab / kidney straps also made using stretch straps. Iknow they are supposed to be simple straps and not stretchy, but I wanted to give myself some stretching room... Left forearm finally finished. Took me a long time as I wanted to make sure it was done right Does anyone have any recommendations about trimming the cover strips? Should I trim them at an angle to blend with the angle of the armor, or should they be cut at a 90 degree somewhere near the edge? And strangely, the happiest part for me is the belt is complete! It turned out really well, in my opinion anyways.

  28. I thank you for your time. I do disagree with your observation, interpretation and application of the CRL requirements about tube stripes. This helmet was make by AM's own master builder Eric Dyck. He's pretty good... and I like it just the way it is. Is it perfect? No. But I do believe it meets the CRL requirements for EIB as is. I believe the supplemental photos in better light addresses the fact that the stripes are matched as per Joseph's original concern is his comment. "The tube stripes on your left side should better match the ones on your right. The left side seems to be arching down in the back. " If we can proceed no further due to this, even though Joseph's original comment was "Not the biggest of deals, as many things on ANH TKs were a bit wonky" then my tube stripes and I withdrawal my request to join the ranks of the Expert Infantry. Once again, I thank you and everyone else who spent their time looking at this for their time. Robert TK 42191

  29. I 'm already a member, so it should just be a matter of adding the TK, shouldn't it? I know - the paint on the helmet is ... well. The vocoder was overpainted by the original owner, so these pictures are after cleaning in up. All of the stickers were crooked, and the CRL didn't allow them at Centurion then, so everything was removed. So I used the Trooperbay templates for an AM helmet, which I was told this was ... Everything will get cleaned up, as best as I can, but I'll take basic approval for now.

  30. Besides what has been mentioned, Kevin, 2 things that may affect basic approval are: 1. As per the CRL, the shoulder bridges "..shall be securely mounted in the front"... Not sure about the right side, but the left one needs to be glued down. Easy fix! 2. In the back, the bridges extend too far over the tabs and look to be a bit wide. The bridge should not overlap the tabs at the top of the back plate. You can also trim down the sides of them if this helps. The backs of the straps should be parallel (or close to it). This can be done by measuring when gluing them down. Nice job overall on this, sir, and best of luck on your submission!

  31. Thank you guys, I appreciate the responses, the guy wants 1400obo so way to much for something I need so much work on. I know to stay away from eBay and cl normally but since he said he bought it from someone I didn't know if I came across a hidden gem. I will be assembling an armor the old fashioned way so I know it is acceptable. Thanks again. (Admin you may delete this thread) Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
