These little pains in the an impolite person are tough to form with there compound radius and proper bends... had to get these right so they would form close to the body tube for welding... If you have ever tried making these by hand you will understand the horror3 points

ADVANCED TACTICS info. So what exactly are EI (Expert Infantry) and Centurion levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize. (You may surprise yourself with what you are capable of)! It also works on giving a better look to the Legion as an entity, and you can bet others will take notice of your hard work. The 501st has a list of detailed requirements for Basic approval, EIB (Level 2) and Centurion (Level 3) which can be found here in the Costume Reference Library, (CRL) http://databank.501s...tuming:FISD_CRL Here are a few of the questions people may be wondering about: 1. "I am a (tall/short/heavy/thin) trooper. Can I still apply? Of course! These programs are open and encouraged for all sizes of TKs, as long as the costume is correct and meets the guidelines. There are many specific build tutorials to every option, as well as a vast network of fellow TKs on the FISD to help you out and offer suggestions. 2. "How much extra will I have to pay for extra items"? The cost is actually quite reasonable, considering the few extra supplies you will need, which are listed in the requirements area. While it may run you a little more to implement these additions to your costume, they will go a long way to improving accuracy. All needed items can be found for sale on this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/16-ongoing-sales-project-orders/ Another thread which will be invaluable is Caleb's @MaskedVengeance, located here. While blasters are not required for Basic 501st approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL). 3. "I haven't even got my kit yet, is it too early to start planning"? Actually, aiming for Centurion is easiest to do right out of the box. 4. "I have my basic TK approval, can I still get in these programs"? In a word... absolutely! 5. "Are there any "perks" to this extra work and cost"? Besides knowing that you have a great looking set of armor, the 501st and FISD believes you should be deservedly recognized for your achievement(s), and allows you to wear the appropriate embroidered "rocker" badge of rank (when available) on your shirt, helmet bag, etc., as well as rank decals to put on your armor bin. You will also have access to select "challenge coin" runs, receive (free) a cool certificate for your new rank, and have your title posted below your name in your FISD signature. Plus, once you reach these levels, you will have the extra knowledge to help out those who are looking to apply as well. 6. "Is it hard to apply, and what happens then"? After Basic approval, all you do is make sure your armor is up to the standards set forth in the appropriate CRL, post a thread with the required photos in the appropriate area (see below), and wait a bit for the D.O.s (Deployment Officers) to address it. (Hint: Studying other people's threads before you submit can be a GREAT help). These are also listed on the main page of the FISD site. While waiting for approval, you will get some comments from others who will offer suggestions and constructive advice to help you out. If you should need any changes, the DOs will let you know, so you can adjust accordingly. Don't be dismayed if you do need changes... it's all for your benefit! After you are approved for EIB, then you can submit for Centurion. 7. "Can I achieve additional awards"? Yes and No, you can achieve extra awards at EIB for each additional version costume approved, this will be shown on the thread title as [APPROVED 2nd], [APPROVED 3rd] and so on and you will receive an extra star for each EIB approval on your profile. NOTE If you are approved with a second version of a particular costume you do not receive an additional certificate, there is only 1 issued for each costume version ie: only 1 Hero, 1 Stunt, 1 HWT, 1 ESB and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For Centurion the award program is a little different, you are only issued the Centurion award once no matter how many additional version costumes you have approved at that level. EIB - http://www.whitearmo...ntryman-status/ Centurion- http://www.whitearmo...nturion-status/ Note: You will see some suggestions in the existing submissions/approval requests by the D.O.s and other Troopers that, while not actually part of the CRL, are highly suggested items to enhance the accuracy of your armor. Note that the D.O Staff does not rely only on the CRL, but screen caps and official references as well. Those small details all add up to make your build look it's absolute best! Here is a thread that will answer a lot of your CRL questions: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48335-quick-crl-reference-guide-for-your-ot-build-pics-notes-tips/ Just remember that the FISD is here to help you every step of the way with whatever other questions you may have, but if you can't seem to find what you are looking for in your research, just post the question, (or PM me if you like) and best of luck on your build!1 point

Hi all. Rather than me posting on specific threads, I thought I’d make a post about the correct use of the “Dave M” style decals/templates for ANH Stunt lids. If it is deemed worthy, perhaps it could become a sticky. I will then try my best not to mention it on individual posts (as the last thing I want to do is upset anyone). As the name “Tube Stripe Police” was bestowed upon me, I feel it’s my duty to try and spread he work to keep up the high standards of TK screen accuracy. I hope I have not become a nuisance by flagging it. So, here are some shots of the Set for Stun, or “Dave M” helmet from ANH. These pictures are from the excellent website www.starwarshelmets.com My interpretation of these stripes are that they were intended to look like vents on a curved surface. When viewed from straight on they should naturally curve with the tube. Here are some shots that I put together (using my old SDS lid, hand painted stripes using Dave M style templates/stencils from Mike at Trooperbay). For obvious reasons, I won’t show pictures of those that have been applied the other way around as they are not mine to share and I don’t want to alienate people. Should anyone wish to share, please feel free. I hope that all makes sense. Any comments of suggestions to improve this thread, please let me know. Kind regards, Dan1 point

Thank you for the side view and the information about the thickness.. Speaking of "thickness"... If I don't reach EIB, I blame it on choclate and chips... I left about 10mm of return edge on the top and the bottom for the strapping. Return edge at the seam will be removed, also on the top of the abplate because the strapping is mounted to the plate not to the return edge. Kindey also needs some round corners at the side of the return egde or narrow it down. I hope to gain some extra mm for a better fitting. My wife was also very gentle with the belt. But somehow I also like breathing. Even more than EIB And finally I got some lexan siccors. My neighbours will be so reliefed! And trimming was so easy with these! Why didn't I get those earlier?1 point

Hey Nadas, May 4th is just around the corner, why don't you hold on for a few more days and see if any of our listed maker will be doing flash promotion on the day.1 point

Hello Dave! Thank you for submitting your armor for consideration to the EIB Program! Before we can begin review of your photos, you will need to include some additional information on your application. Below are the general guidelines for application: (Note that you may already have submitted some of these items in your application, thank you!) Please follow this format If you are ready to request FISD Deployment: 1: Review the relevant Expert Infantryman requirements on your specific CRL. 2: Create a new post with the title format: "TK-XXXX Requesting [ANH|ESB|ROTJ|etc] EIB Status" 3: Include the following: 1: Your Name 2: Your 501st TK ID 3: Your FISD forum name 4: Your Garrison 5: Upload high-resolution photos of front, back & both sides of yourself in full armor as well as detail photos displaying compliance with all Expert Infantryman items. Please do not forget to include a well lit action shot in front of a plain background. 6: When in doubt, look at previous successfully deployed threads, or simply ask! It's what we're here for. 7: You must be a 501st approved Stormtrooper. If you are, but haven't permission to create your thread, request 501st access in this thread. Thanks again for your submission, Dave!1 point

You only get $80 a week to eat and you want to buy armor? I’d wait it out. Get connected with the garrison, help with some events to make sure it’s what you want to do and watch the sale ads here. You can get some good deals on used armor people either don’t wear anymore or never finished. And on top of that someone might be doing a May 4th sale, anything is possible. The easiest way for me was a hot water bath, the hardest part there was to get a pot that was big enough. Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A6013 mit Tapatalk1 point

Lid work. No ears. Can you hear me now? Ear! Loook, it's like my hubby's lid and my lid are cuddling. Awwww.... And me prepping for tomorrow's troop. I love sticker-ing up the bin! And bringing my spankin' new Praetorian DLT-19 along with! (Thanks, Mr. Cricket! {best hubbie EVAH!}) Maybe I'll let him borrow it trooping one day.1 point

The doopydoos one will be fine for Centurion. In fact, the whole kit is fine for Centurion if done correctly. The areas that are often upgraded are the magazine (DD one is tiny) and the D-ring on the back. These might be mentioned at centurion level as suggested upgrades. :-)1 point

Yes. The Anovos material is thin and in some areas less than 1mm (not good). You shouldn't have these issues with RS1 point

Returns aren't required in these areas. Trim for fit and comfort. For my kit (I'm just 5'4"), I trimmed all of it off and then some. You won't see this area anyhow because the belt hides it. See? (I'm on the left) About strapping, it's always a good idea to reinforce returns if using brackets. My RS kit developed cracks where there was no reinforcement at the returns, and that happened even before trooping. I consider reinforcement of returns as just a way to improve durability of the kit (and spend less time making repairs down the road).1 point

Nice job on this, Dan! One small tip I would add for those using the templates is after pressing them into the correct position**, apply a VERY thin coat of white paint over the stripes. Let that dry for 5-10 minutes, and then use the blue paint. The reason being is that the white paint will seal the edges of the stripes, preventing the blue from bleeding underneath and give you nice crisp lines. ** Please note the position of the stripes on the tube, which are about a #2 pencil width away from the cheek. PERFECT!1 point
