Good point. I’ll try it out before doing anything radical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Of all ways to build the armor I did it all the wrong way. I was nowhere near ready for paint all those months ago. The new forearms from KB look ridiculous on me and need to be cut down. My chest armor horns need heat gun massaging because they do not sit flat the ab barrel is waaaaaaay to big and I need to cut off like 4” from each side so it closes nice and tight on me and will allow the chest wings to connect to the back armor wings I already put a crack in the chest armor return edge. Protip for someone lookig at this stupid build. Don’t assume it’s ready for paint until you wear it and actually try putting crap on1 point

Here´s two other great videos to watch on the subject https://youtu.be/koWPCn4YtNo https://youtu.be/jyIWUYbhk3U1 point

If you are talking about the right hand side then in my opinion the only snap needed is the top one as the belt holds the rest1 point

Hi Simon, Nice progress. :-) Aside from looking at the screen used suits for fitment, this video that Ross made is very helpful.1 point

Thanks. I’ll try the toothpicks to straighten out the lines. And had already planned to get those sides tighter and secured before going much further on the ears. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

It does look like a few of your lines are a little wobbly, around the teeth too, you may want to try to remove some of the excess with tooth picks, they work really well. Perhaps a little grey over some of the inside black lines too. Before adjusting ears to fit I would use magnets or even nuts and bolts to hold the side pieces together as they can change how they sit.1 point

Hi Trina and again thank you for your EIB application and may we say you did great in sizing the armor to fit your frame CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted , thank you for making the requested fixes and now I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. As we navigate through this review we are going to start with the helmet and work our way down the front and then turn to the back - let´s get started shall we! Starting with the helmet and the brow we would like to suggest that you raise it just a tad to be more in keeping with the Stunts and then you would fit in perfectly with the Troopers below Moving on to the ears, though there are exceptions, for the majority of the helmets the ears were assambled with a slight angle to them as seen by the ref pics. If you can repositioning the ears without damaging the helmet we suggest you do so and that would also add to that ANH magic. We keep focus on the ears and we like you to check if you can close that gap some more, especially the right one (as looking at it) perhaps it´s as simple as tightening the screws. The mic tips themselves are great but as you can see in the ref pic, the originals were white on the inside and on the rim. You have a great looking set of armor and these details as with the brow above and the ears to follow would really take it to the highest level making you look as you just stepped off the set on Elstree Studios Your shoulder bells are well in keeping of the movie-Troopers but we feel it’s worth mentioning that shortening the straps would make it even more ideal. Moving down to the ab buttons, and as seen in the ref pic, the panels idealy sits within the mounting area and if you decide to make the change, reducing the size of the paint would also take it closer to the originals and make it easier to trim the smaller plate without risking to cut into the paint. For the thighs we suggest some tiny triming to keep the cover strips from going over the edge of the armor and normally we wouldn´t mention the left one as it barely goes over but as the right one could stand some TLC we threw it in there as a suggestion as well. Turning to the back and looking at the shoulder bridges you appear to have alot of material to work with and by cutting that last big bump in the rear you will have more clearence to the O ll box and as a bonus it´s also screen accurate as seen below. Great job in making that belt - taking orders? A small detail that would make it even more perfect would be to shorten it so it doesn´t stick out behind the TD. Looking at the TD we suggest tightening the screws for a cleaner look and to avoid it getting snagged on something. Finally we have the blaster and as the T-tracks and rear part of the Hengstler were plastic on the blasters used in the movie, those areas shouldn´t have any metalic weathering on them. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application You have as mentioned earlier a really great looking set of armor and the suggestions made earlier are just meant as the icing on the cake and we don’t see much that would hinder you reach Centurion, in fact there´s only two small areas of concern at this time. First is the eventual use of velcro on the shoulder bridges in the rear. As CRL L3 states: they shall free-float in the back. The other area is the clips on the TD, although we love seeing alternate ways on doing things we feel that for Centurion they need to be more in keeping with the originals, and as seen the ends should not be folded over. That’s it! Congratulations ones again - head on out feeling proud as an Expert Infantry Trooper for the Empire See you at Centurion1 point

Hi guys!! So amazing news!! I was approved! TK-23148 reporting to the Legion for duty Mountain Garrison - Pikes Peak Squad. I HIGHLY recommend going through the TK Pre-Approvals prior to submitting for approval. It made the process absolutely flawless. I'll still be making comfort improvements to strapping to ensure nothing slips out of place or unsnaps and tightening the loose ends of unpainted rivets. But I am so excited to be heading into Celebration as an official member and being able to look out for local events. Super thanks to everyone's ideas, tips and tricks that helped me along the way. I hope to be able to provide half the guidance to fellow shorties and nervous newcomers.1 point

So as I'm sure happens with all armor there is wear and fixing that will be needed. I'm going to continue detailing this in this build going forward. My hopes are to help others see that it is okay to have to fix armor up regularly, and to give some good detail on what and how. I'm holding off until I finish my scout kit, but it will probably happen soon.1 point

Before I forget, you can angle the ammo pack up to help with walking (clearing the knee cap). You will still have the "trooper waddle" but your knees will thank you.1 point

Maybe next time just divert the money to my account and I’ll transfer it to you in slow amounts so it doesn’t look as suspicious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I completely forgot about the rivets there!! I'll definitely try to implement those changes to tailor the details. I started working on the TK in Orlando before I moved to Colorado Springs, so I went to several Armor Party's with Gary at the TK Sweatshop. It was always really productive and helpful there so even though I may not be a member of Makaze, they'll always feel like my first squad. haha1 point

Outstanding, I was considering making my own vacuum formed kit but getting the smooth both side ABS is way too expensive for me. I noticed that I forgot to mention that 1 4'x8' sheet will produce (roughly) 1 set of ANH TK armor. As for the ROTK armor, I was able to snag a black series RO helmet off Amazon for $49.00 last year. I plan on modifying it for a ABS armor build once I get the armor. I plan on keeping my Jimmy kit shinny white but the ABS will get weathered. Also, for anyone who does not know, I have made some urethane rubber shoulder straps to replace the fiberglass ones since they cracked last year. I am still perfecting the process but once they are ready for prime time, I will make them available to whomever wants them. More details in my ROTK build thread here on FISD. Not really looking to make money or push sales in anyway, they will go for cost basically and I just wanted to make them available to all who want them.1 point

Also, check out this build. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41502-crickets-wtf-hero-build-even-more-tk-for-the-vertically-challenged/ Good luck on your build! Bucket looks good. I would trim a bit more from the eyes, but that is just me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
