  3. Okay! Ol Besty has her electronics , in place, and working!!! Sooooo relieved! New miniscope is operating perfectly. The switch I accidentally puttied closed is cleared out and working, and the trigger mech. was fixed and reinforced. ADVICE: for the blastfx trigger, if you are installing in any way the 2 wires' shrink wrap bends, just remove the wrap and solder it/glue it. The handle on mine was a tight fit to the bottom of my barrel. I cut out a tunnel for the wires to run along but they still bent too much and as a result it disabled the trigger after I glued everything in place causing th rrumble and trigger not to work... I about died after testing it lol like for real... Luckily, my hubby is familiar with the shrinky tube and its lack of bendability. Shouldnt break again. I soldered each wire after running it through the gun to the clip housing and taped them. The wires ended up being twice as bulky as anticipated and wouldnt all fit in the housing and had to flow out into the barrel. Probably could have cut them a little bit more and not tape? , but it was too nerve wracking! Uggf Really crappy since I worked on getting the spring action and bolt to work now stupid wires are in the way... FML... Oh well compromises Another word of advice running the wires, label them and check that it works periodically after installing pieces. Double check the wires. Unbelieveably helpful they are all different colors. Stripping them was a pain for me , had to replace a couple sections. Also dropped the gun with excitment after the trigger worked again, and busted the stupid end sight cover thing. I have a feeling it will break in the future and the trigger guard thing. So I have to puddy that up. White crayola made the sight pop!! So close to finishing! Sent from my LG-D415 using Tapatalk

  7. So, I may not have time right now for building - but that isn't stopping me from spending money. I just pulled the trigger on one of CrookKnight's #3 sandtrooper backpacks. He is having a Star Wars Day sale via his FB page, so... that was all the convincing I needed.

  8. This is what I use: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-26-in-Connect-Mobile-Tool-Box-Black-228224/300862598 I can fit everything (including my bucket and props) inside, but you should make sure it will fit in your vehicle first. If you get a smaller one, you can (and should) get a helmet bag. They are available at Trooperbay: https://trooperbay.com/helmet-bag

  10. Lou, thanks for the recommendation. I have messaged him on FB and got no response. I will see if I can find an e-mail for him and contact him. I like the look and “function”(moving charging handle) of his blasters and the prints look really good. I have my own 3D printer and I have considered printing my own E11 but none of the free models really look good to me and I do not have the time to make my own 3D model at this time. Therefore, I am willing to pay for all that work to be done and Blaster Master seems like a good choice. From what I have seen, everything look fairly accurate and the fact that he uses ABS over PLA is a real plus in my book. So perhaps this is the direction I will go, only time will tell. Ok so last night I finished sanding the helmet (I hope). Everything is sanded to 320 grit. Anything smoother and the primer and paint won’t stick. And as promised, here are some shots of the fabric screen temporarily installed. I think the fabric will “pop” more when the helmet is a glossy white. If you look closely you should see the blue fabric inside the tube stripes and the black fabric inside the tears and rear vents. I still do not have a permanent installation solution yet. Additionally, I went ahead and assembled my Etsy Hovi Mics. I would have preferred to buy a set from the people here on FISD but everyone I could find either did not respond to my requests, no longer sells them, or their product did not look as good as these. I digress… So these came as a three part kit plus the screen and everything looks correct to me. I added the screw and used some two part resin to set it in place the cut and bent the screens (note the shaped wooden dowel). Re-assembled each mic and installed them. Lastly, I cut the lens and shaped it. I used a product called PC-7 to install the T-nuts for holding the visor in place. And that is it for now. I hope to get more work done this weekend and a start on thee armor. Thanks for the interest.

  14. Nope, they’re smaller than a standard E-11 based on a Sterling. Too many bits and pieces wrong or missing altogether. There are much more accurate E-11 kits or even fully assembled for not a huge amount more.

  15. Zeddy, thanks for the comments and suggestion. I am still working out how I will do this. So last night I sanded the helmet again and got everything to 320 grit but I need to fill in a few more spots (marked with the sharpie). Also, I cut out the inserts and super glued the fabric into them. I know they look like crap as they are, but once installed you will only see what is visible through the vents so I think they will be fine. I hope to finish sanding the helmet tonight and I will take some pictures of the vent covers temporally installed. Thanks for the interest. BTW, anyone have a United States source for the helmet S type trim for the opening? I have found people selling them already cut into 30” pieces but the opening on this helmet is over 31” so buying the gasket in bulk or by the inch would be preferable.

  19. Novus #2 works wonders on armour. You can polish the entire kit with it to get a mirror-like finish.

  20. Absolutely, Stefanie! There is a product called Novus plastic polish, which you can purchase in a 3 step kit. https://www.amazon.com/NOVUS-7100-Plastic-Polish-Kit/dp/B002UCYRZU It is available here in the states. They do sell it in Germany, (details below), but there may be another brand that is more readily available in your area. You may want to give one of our Imperial Attaches in Germany a PM, Christian (Novak Dimon) or Michael (Addertime) and ask them about what products they recommend. iGo3D GmbHAm Brabrinke 14Germany - 30519 Hannover+49 511 - 89 88 87 - [email protected]

  22. Ok everybody. I would like to set the record correct here. Tom arranged with his friend to order a pair of armour kits from TKUK through a 3rd person. That 3rd person was Ryan. So I had an order from Ryan and Ryan only. I had a few messages from Tom and another guy for the next few days asking if I had received their order, now I have to go through my list to check and there was no order from Tom or his Friend. It turned out it was an order from Ryan that had ordered for the 2 of them. OK confusion over with as It was Ryan I spoke to from then onwards. Now they had ordered through Ryan on or about the 23rd of November 2017. At this stage I was clearing out the last of my 2017 model armour kits for which I had sold 550 of them. The last 50 have been donated to another cause. I had packed the last of the 2017 armour kits and booked them with the courier but did not seal up the boxes as there was a part missing that I was waiting for. Unfortunately as I work all over the world I have to go away and leave things to others to finish up for me sometimes. The parts didnt arrive that I was waiting for so I informed Ryan of this. As Ryan said the guys that bought it had a deadline then I offered to send a fully assembled armour kit free of charge immediately as I hold these in stock. So he agreed to the assembled set then turned around and said they dont want the assembled set. So then I offered a 100% refund or an upgrade to the 2018 armour kit for free as the price has gone up 15%. This was debated between Ryan and the 2 guys that ordered the armour through him. Eventually they agreed to take the old Black armour and the white 2018 armour, this was delivered end of January 2018. (I sent out 250 armour kits in January alone). The armour kits had arrived and Ryan said they were happy with the older model black armour but not happy with the new 2018 white armour as they said the back part was not straight and was not passable. I explained that the white armour was quite different to the black armour they had as I have changed many of the moulds. The also complained that the sandtrooper parts were not included in the box which was clearly a misunderstanding of my options that are available with the 2018 armour kits. I was asked for a refund so I told Ryan to return it as they had already opened a Paypal case against me for not receiving it. When I received the box and had checked it I issued the refund through Paypal. TKUK trades in all countries and delivers to all countries so to make it easy for people we quote and charge in the reserve currency, the US$. Ryan had purchased an item for $739 US Dollars but he is located in England therefor GBP was taken from his account. I refunded him 100% of the money he paid. That due to currency change made him get less in GBP than he paid. TKUK is a Limited company and needs to have accounts for every penny of expenditure and documentary evidence of it. I needed to consult my accountant as to how I can issue extra funds to compensate the 64 GBP that Ryan had lost in the currency change. I looked at the Facebook pages of the 2 friends of Ryan and they planned to do Zombie troopers with the armour kits, so easy for me I offered him 2 less than perfect armour kits for free so they can make the Zombie troopers out of them. They declined so I paid to Ryan a 64 GBP goodwill payment in cash instead. So to summarise, yes I was having too many orders going through for me to handle at that time as I was in different continents each week getting armour kits to guys around the world. And No nobody was ripped off or got less than what they paid for. This is true now and always. I never have ripped off anyone! I think as there was TKUK, then to Ryan, then to Tom and his mate some of my generous offers of compensation or so of the details may have been missed. I have a Facebook group that has 550 buyers in from my 2017 armour and over 150 from my 2018 armour kits. Im sure if you want fact then you can find it from one of those buyers with 1st hand experience

  23. In the interest of fairness, and what I personally feel should be common sense, I am going to add a point to this discussion for consideration of anyone who has, or will, purchase merchandise from any subgroup of the Legion. When the seller/MBO offers you the option of a full refund if you are not satisfied with it, there is an expectation that you are going to return that merchandise to the seller/MBO if you request a refund. Either you are satisfied with your purchase, in which case you keep it, or you are not satisfied with it, in which case you request a refund and return it. Additionally, the fact that merchandise that you purchased may later be given away as a prize is a possibility. You are not entitled to a refund because someone else somehow received the same item for free later. Please, as a Legion member, exercise some common sense and human decency if you are not satisfied with any merchandise purchase you make through the Legion. The sellers are your fellow Troopers in all but the most rare of circumstances, and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, just as you yourself expect to be treated.
