  1. There is no CRL requirement, or EI/Centurion requirement, that the belt has to overlap the butt/kidney split that I could find. There is also no statement that you can't have the screws visible under the bottom of the chest plate. Next time you have such pushback from your GML, you can simply direct him to the GML/DL area on the 501st boards.

  2. One suggestion I will make is to trim out the eyes a little more. Anovos doesn't do a good job at that. Overall it looks good to me. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

  3. This is a question we have on every troop. ANH - Blasters on the left hand or right hand? These guys have it on the right hand: ----------- ============================================ These here on the left: ============================================ Now I'm totally confused! Is there a right way to hold your blaster? Is there a common way? What do you prefer? Best regards, Danny TK-55550

  5. Thought about that and I have some scrap material from my neck seal that I could cover them with after to keep any jagged edges from digging and scoring into the ab piece. Thanks Tony. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk

  10. Lol. I’ve never seen a compilation of pics showing so many of each!! :-) Personally, I go left. I’m right handed but prefer to go left, based on the first scene in ANH and the trooper line up that you pictured. With the holster on the left too, I imagine it’s what they had intended for TKs (not that it’s an exact rule). After a few times of kitting up and practicing with my left, it feels quite natural now. I’d hazard a guess though that more TKs worldwide go right, based on pictures of troops and here on FISD, so it’s certainly not an issue. I’d also say it could depend on the troop. I guess if all of the others on your troop are going left, go left for consistency. Good question though. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. I will invert the shins. The drop box are aligned with the end of the belt but have weights in them to make them more stable when I walk. I'll move them a bit. Sent from my Moto X Play using Tapatalk

  18. Yes last I heard was a small update that things are on track to ship out by March 20 EOD. That being said I’m sure they are waiting for approval. My previous update they mentioned that the build instructions were in process of approval. if this is all true. I’d say they are building tons already and the moment they get approval, they are going to be pushing those out like crazy. i have to wait for my helmet nonetheless. I ordered TLJ helmet and it won’t be shipping until Spring 2018 time period. another thing I can see is they are focusing most of their work on OT and FO TK armor as they had to put other armors offline or on a wait to meet the demands for these. So I’m hopeful and optimistic, but who knows for sure.

  19. I hadn't said above, as it's posted elsewhere, but after sitting on it for a couple days, I'll summarize it here, too. This latest delay was due to, earlier in 2017, them getting the first test pulls and discovering pieces didn't line up as well as hoped, some of the details were too soft or more inaccurate than they would accept, in addition to concerns about the longevity of the (presumably hydrocal or similar) forming bucks. So they bumped it back to Fall 2017 as they went back to the original digital files they got from Lucasfilm and redid everything for crisper detail, better accuracy and fit, and machined steel bucks that would hold the sharper detail and last longer. Given that they would have to negotiate new production slots in their factories' queues and that LFL and Disney would have to approve the new prototypes whenever they were made and arrived here in the States, I'm not surprised they didn't make their optimistic estimate. The last I knew, as of December, was that the shipping container with the new prototypes was due in the Port of Los Angeles "soon", but even if the packaging and included accessories (belt, pouches, gaskets) are all approved and ready to go, the armor kits themselves would still have to go through the approval process. Assuming that first shipment had enough for initial orders (those who ordered on day one and haven't cancelled, as well as those who have ordered more recently to fill in those slots), I expect they're stacked as out of the way as possible in their warehouse waiting to get the yes-nod or no-nod from the nitpickers who have final say. I wish I had more, but even that is pieced together from many conversations several people have had with them over a couple months to get a partial picture of behind-the-scenes logistical crap they're not supposed to be telling the public at all... Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for KB to finish getting his new workshop set up so I can maybe get my Phasma boot armor to start working on something. So it's not just ANOVOS.

  23. If your top is hidden under your shoulder bell, you're either short or wear your biceps too high (with arms at your side). That being said, such a minor gap is nothing to be worried about.

  24. I wonder if it will go away in your case. Not that I'm asking you to try it since you're all done. But my snaps were only installed for 48-72 hours max. So the theory that warping will go away if uninstalled may only be true if the armor is relieved of the strain/pressure short after it is noticed. It doesn't look like any permanent change took place in my case. Your mileage may vary. The kit that I am assembling is an older Anovos kit (not from the recent batches) I'm not sure when it was manufactured as I bought it second-hand. -Dana

  25. Take a soldering iron and burn hole in center of nylon and install snap. Then glue nylon plate to armor. No need for clamps. Tack of glue holds in place. The advantage with this way is it conforms to armor shape. And face it most spots you install snap plates are not flat. So better bond. I have more then 100 troops and not one issue with this approach. Good Luck Future Trooper! Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk

  27. The Anovos kit has elastic straps with velcro at each end; fuzzy velcro goes in the shoulder bells and the bicep. Same for the bicep-forearm joint. In the photo with the car, that had not been adjusted yet. The point of that trip was to fetch my MacBook so I could review the photos and spot such problems. My friend helped tighten up those straps and fixed the problem, then took a new set of photos. Getting that right made a huge difference in mobility. That's one of those non-obvious secrets, so I added it to my Wisdom page.

  30. Well after a ton of research, it has been advised to add a flex agent to the paint and clear coat. So....thanks to a couple friends, I now have access to a compressor and paint line. Looks like I'll be shooting this with automotive paint and clear coat with a little help from some friends. Hopefully it will save me tons of headache in the long run. Hoping and praying.

  31. Most use Rustoleum, I've had massive problems with that paint so I used automotive acrylic paint in spray cans, worked well for me and can be buffed.
