I heard a lot of things too. I was told by the boss that the TFA was mass produced in China as well. I think that the only things coming out of China are the ANOVOS helmets. I was also told that this new ANH stormtrooper was produced from the best parts from all of the "known Kits", a mishmash of ten different stormtroopers. I mentioned to the boss that the flashing was not cut on the EP7 kit, which producers do to discourage recasting, and was told that they had disney behind them to sue any recaster. OK, so they have a handle on this new kit, Good on them, They worked hard for it and have a right to protect their investment. I don't blame them. But what about the ANH? Especially if it was recasted from existing suppliers. Would that give them licence to stop everyone else from producing an ANH kit? If they can produce a good kit at the price they promised, I guess it's a moot point; the others will eventually go out of business.. But if it's recast garbage, I don't want it to be the only option.

do you have a pic?

I don't mean bondo all the corners for approval or trooping. I'm talking about bringing the kit to a higher level of accuracy. Each box could be faced with thin ABS and all the edges filled. A reasonable task to reach that higher mark within the detachment. I hope I don't sound elitest here. I wore an FX for several years before I could tell the difference. If people have the attitude that it's good enough for the fans, that's OK too. Most people are just here to have fun. But if the FISD maintains this costume, there will eventualy be Centurian standards. Not to compare the ANOVOS kit to the FX, but when we started with the FX, it was the best thing going. It was the only thing going. It took over a decade to come up with the EIB and Centurion programs and only after we had access to more accurate kits. so right now, ANOVOS armor is the best thing going

The biggest differences I see are the corners. This new armor needs to have its corners brought out to look sharper. It can be done with bondo. I got to see the actual suits fairly close. I took lots of pics to make comparisons in both armor and helmet. Someone needs to sculpt a better helmet.

I use the spray-on truck bed liner from just about any automotive section. Trim out and build your bucket first, mask off the eyes and teeth. I've used the spray rubber before, but it peels and it's hard to get things to stick to it. have fun and good luck.

styrene is the "S" in HIPS, (high impact poly styrene). Same plastic as TE, TE2, cap and the first ATA. it does need to be painted. as stated prior, ABS is more durable and does not require painting. I would stay away from ebay when it comes to unknown armor.

Canvas strap bleaching. Help needed, please.
TK4205 replied to davej's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I tried the same with the cargo strap that found. Though it was white enough, I wanted a bright white belt to match the rest of the armor. I tried bleach, fabric whitener and paint. The only thing that made it bright white was the paint. Good luck with your find:) -
I need 20 bucks

Cleaning some adhesive off my armor - what to use?
TK4205 replied to Jorran's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Zippo lighter fluid for ABS. Charcoal lighter fluid works too, and it also conditions the plastic. If you let it soak in to the glue, there's no scrubbing; It just scrapes off in one big goober. -
I never did these to sell. I just posted up the tutorial and did a couple for myself and a couple friends. I edited key points of the tutorial after I was accused of recasting skullworks.

I use the IWATA Revolution, for all my spraying. I agree that masking takes too long, so I use a bristle brush or decals. I've used paint pens in the past. They work great, but they tend to clog and dry out after a certain period of time. Good luck and have fun.

What's going on with these thighs?
TK4205 replied to Darth Hilarious's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Or you can do what I did; Sell it and buy a screen accurate kit. I recommend ATA, however there are others out there too. Good luck. -
Will E6000 glue latex handguards-what to use
TK4205 replied to tk7713gra30's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
The best glue hands down for latex is "latex milk" Elmers premium non hardening rubber cement is a close runner up. The Elmers gets applied to both surfaces, allowed to dry for 15 minutes before pressing together. Good luck. -
I sent a Cad Bane mask to Australia that was misdirected by the carrier. It took three months for the package to come back to me. The only way to ship international is to pay for priority air mail.

STILL NO REPLIES FROM WYATT
TK4205 replied to tk7713gra30's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
---------- Why did you start another thread?? We have been in contact. I told you what was up. I sent you a replacement already. I have two customs forms that shows I sent you 2 belts. Please don't think this is personal. The problem is your postal service. That being said, I have another belt for you. But if you think I'm going to drop everything and run down to the post office to send you yet another replacement, you're mistaken. You don't have to be patient, but it helps. -
Anyone in touch with Wyatt
TK4205 replied to tk7713gra30's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Shoot me your address, and I will ship you (one) more. I'm sorry there's not any news I can give you on the (two) belts I have sent you. I am not able to track or insure international orders.I have custom form stubs, but they do not confirm delivery. I have trouble shipping parcels to the UK to the point of stopping all (personal) international transactions. I apologize for not getting to this post sooner. Please, please, keep in mind that I am one trooper with a real life and family. Speaking of family, I have been spending most of my time at the hospital, lately. Sitting with my wife in the ICU, supersedes everything, my friends. If anyone else is waiting for a belt, or is otherwise unhappy, shoot me a pm with your name, address and paypal info. I will cover you as soon as I am able. -
I hear fabric glue works for attaching velcro. Good luck.

HOWTO: Make an MP40 ammo pouch for $1 in one hour
TK4205 replied to dashrazor's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Nice job there. I always get a sense of satisfaction when I use otherwise useless junk. I like doing it cheap too. -
I did a quick search and found that this email is indeed spam. I found several different versions. The only part I find curious is that they have a piece of personal info (501st membership). My member info is not hard to find, however spammers rarely go to this much trouble. Interesting.

New device to keep children from messing with your R2's
TK4205 replied to RogueTrooper's topic in Off Topic
That was as funny as the video. -
Whatever it is, it looks acceptable to me, though helmets are not accepted without the rest of the costume. It makes my RT look like a piece of crapola, but then again my RT looks like crapola on its own.

"Little big", man "Dances with wolves", "A man called horse", "The last samurai". Just to mention a few. The story has been told time and again. The moral is all the same. Our hero was admirable, not to be confused with honorable; He committed treason. All politics aside, the visuals were stunning, the CG was high end, and the planet was amazing with it's animals and geography. The hot alien tail was nice too

Went to see it with my crew a couple nights ago. Not a bad movie, though anti military.

From what I gather, regarding marketing,no one had made this kind of request before and 20th was more happy to pay him off at the time. It was shortly thereafter, George invents the toy.
