  1. They make a brushless fan as well. I think Radio Shack has brushless fans. they're about 12 bucks each. Standard CPU fans can be quite noisy. You might want to attatch your fans wist velcro tabs. If the fan housing actualy touches the plastic, even by glue, you can get vibration from the fan that reverbates thruoghout your bucket. I have mine sitting on four little pads of velcro.
  2. At first I fastened my thigh pieces to my ab, but they moved up and down too much and turned one way or the other. I found a good remedy for this. They just velcro to the inside of the thigh pieces, and they stay exactly where they should.
  3. I came into possession of TE calf parts that had been hastily glued with Cyanoacrylate. My goal is to clean and repair. Cyanoacrylate is the generic name for CA glue, also known as Super Glue. It's definitely not good for polystyrene. Acetone and Nitromethane are good cleaners, but they will also melt hips. I'll have to sand it off. When sanding CA you might want glasses and a dust mask. It burns the eyes and nose worse than when it's wet. As you can see, the Cyanoacrylate damaged the styrene. It made it brittle and weak. For the most part the edges were trimmed, but I wanted a smoother edge, so I will use a round file instead of the dremmel. The best glue that I've found for polystyrene, ABS, acetate, plexi-glass and lots of other plastics, is Testors plastic cement. It's not recommended for polypropylene, vinyl, polyethylene or other "rubbers". It contains a solvent that melts just the surface of the plastic, allowing the two parts to fuse together. As the solvent evaporates the strength returns to the polystyrene, the components having been fused together. It doesn't keep melting through like ABS glue does. I'll post pics with my progress
  4. I've been out, but I'm back. do we have a logo yet?
  5. Will the URL remain the same?
  6. I agree. All of the ubove merrits a tutorial. would be nice to have a section for each one. I think the (real)history of TK armor would be an interesting subject. I know there are many kits out there.
  7. Well, let's see it. Or are we going to just vote on tentative ideas?
  8. The bottom of my logo says "first ones in last ones out" for those of you who don't read Arebush.
  9. I certainly don't want my logo to win just by default, but so far it's the only one that's been submited to this thread. Who did the tribal cog? do we have permission to use it? Most of all, do we have permission to change it? I know I feel when my own work is cut and pasted in photoshop. All my work is original. Not bits of stuff found on the net and cut and pasted to change. I think that this is the same case as our board naming issue in that you can only please some of the people some of the time.
  10. I don't want to seem biassed, but how does "tribal" say "stormtrooper"? I personaly like the tribal cog, but IMHO it belongs tattooed on someones back, and most likely is.
  11. I'm Scotts, Irish, cherokee.
  12. We have a Huskystar. Hate it. Will let you know when I go shopping. The strap is great. An Imperial G string if you will. Kind of sexy.
  13. Here's a template. If we like it, we can put the name in later.
  14. The part I hate the most is lack of movement. I modded my armor to get a fuller range of movement. I cut my cod and seperated the back from the butt. I now have a white armor bikini. But never fear, the belt hides those embarrasing bikini lines.
  15. I just want to bring order to the galaxy.
  16. I have the "new improved" FX
  17. I was asked aren't you a little short to be a stormtrooper, by a woman who was about 6-1 my reply was, "well, not at the moment".
  18. Is there a trick to posting pics here? I guess I can try it again. once more...
  19. White Armor .Net flows nicely. It has nothing to do with race. If stormtroopers were blue then it would be blue armor .net or green armor .net and so on. I think some people offend too easy, or could it be, just have a big race chip on their shoulder. One of the things I like about the board is that things like bias, racism, and biggotry are hard to practice. You can become good friends with someone and not even know what they look like. But I do know what TK troopers look like; White. shiny white and sparkling clean. I say white armor .net stays like it is. And if you want to talk about race, how about those Jawas. Disgusting creatures. I can't abide those Jawas. I'd just as soon kiss a wookie.
  20. I wear leotards when I troop. I stop at mop and glow.
  21. I use charcoal lighter fluid. It shines the plastic up real nice. It also removes scuff marks and paint scratches that you get fron your E11. It's good for removing velcro adhesive too. Dab it on with a brush, let the adhesive soak it up, dab a little more, and in a few minutes or so it will scrape right off. I put it on a rag to wipe up any residue left. Velcro doesen't like to stick to lighter fluid, so I wash all my parts in the sink afterwards. The polish is good to keep your armor clean and shiny. They also make a polish for white cars. I wonder if it would work
