  1. I just saw the latest ANOVOS gasket. They are made of the same silicone, only poured thinner to make them a bit more flexible. They are still heavy and scratch very easily. I might also mention that clone ribbing is a lot different. Not only in the direction of the ribs, but in the shape of the rib also. Clone ribbing looks more quilted than the newer TFA stuff.
  2. I have made ribbed undersuits for the clones. They SHOULD be ribbed as we see on screen, but somehoW it was left out of the CRL. We also have a difference in that George gave us CG clones, where Disney has brought back the physical prop for us to all see up close.
  3. I'm proud of you guys.
  4. I bought a roll of gold sluice mat. Way too small. I've also sent samples to the other rubber manufacturers, with no luck. What we need simply does not exist.
  5. That is a very good idea. I will talk to the Mrs about this.
  6. I visited the rubber fabrication shop in Seattle. They have some rubber mats, but no one extrudes rubber in the US hardly any more. I am awaiting a quote from a US supplier of custom fabricated rubber if I can get them stamped out cheaper than I can do it at home, I can then pass the savings on to you all.
  7. The Mrs does a compression top with a built-in neck seal and a zipper down the back. No seconds here, just some of the finest tailoring you will see in the legion. $80 shipped.
  8. If they are not perfect, I don't ship them. Sometimes they warp, have thin spots or air pockets that need to be filled. $125 shipped US just for you. You will need to wait a little longer because I try really hard not to have seconds. They will come with liquid rubber for any work they might need.
  9. Thank you for the plug. If I may ask; why have you decided not to use ImperialGaskets? If it comes down to spending more money on this kit than you wish to spend, I do have some "seconds" that I sell at a cheaper price. I've tried gluing together rubber tubing, ribbing with cord and latex, using a large rubber inner-tube, with little luck. Other than rendering rubber, sewing ribs in foam is the closest match that I can find. Whatever you decide, good luck and please share your results here.
  10. Please find the sale thread here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31019-imperial-gaskets-upgrades/
  11. I've shortened legs on clones and TK for people. Quite a few actually. I always cut off the bottom of the shin where it's less noticeable. I think it will look fine on the TFA since we have the spats that finish of the ankle.
  12. Having the same problem with his TD...
  13. You can find pictures on page 3- http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31381-question-to-the-alpha-75/page-3
  14. I had heard that ANOVOS promised to replace the helmets that were bad, either cracking or warped from a bad cure. Has anyone here had their helmet replaced yet?
  15. I want that armor just for a weekend.
  16. Sorry, I never constructed them. The glue that comes with them works well from the test I did on them. I would just shim them together with the scraps after trimming. Good luck.
  17. You chose wisely.
  18. Blue masking tape for anything you want to mask. Frog Tape is the best. I haven't painted the TFA helmet (yet) but I've painted other resin helmets and lots of resin parts. Too bad these helmets were not mold injected, like the MR., which makes filling, sanding and painting so much easier. Good luck and have fun.
  19. I use Devcon plastic epoxy. Some people use CA glue.
  20. I held about a dozen ANOVOS helmets while I was at Celebration. The gel coat was not the best finish. Some were already starting to crack and chip. Painting fiberglass is a nightmare in itself, so I guess painting the armor to match would be the easiest rout. Personally, I would scuff it, wipe it down with vinegar, spray it with Kilz Lacquer Primer, wet-sand and repaint with the same paint I use on the body. Good luck and please share your results of whatever you decide to go with.
  21. There you have it. Just match the bad paint job that comes with the helmet and you'll be fine.
  22. The whole thing needs painting, even the helmet.
  23. Rubber cement will not work on silicone.
  24. I posted details somewhere on this forum years ago, lost in the threads no doubt. It's just an old radio shack amp that I spiced up with vac formed covers.
  25. No, just these ones. Unless you are using a platinum based silicone, or similar (like Dragonskin), it would be ten times more toxic than latex rubber, and ten times weaker that latex rubber. My rubber gaskets are made to last for years. You just can't get that from anything else in a home shop. For anyone that wants it, I can supply the MSDS (material safety data sheet) on all of my materials.
