TFA First Order Stormtrooper Helmet Build
T K replied to T K's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
All righty! I am starting to compile a list of things I need to get for this build. Paints White http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-2X-12-oz-Gloss-White-General-Purpose-Spray-Paint-249090/202071352 Black http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-2X-12-oz-Flat-Black-General-Purpose-Spray-Paint-249127/202246266 Primer http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-2X-12-oz-Flat-Gray-Primer-General-Purpose-Spray-Paint-249088/100670412 Let me know if there is something better for paints, but as of now this is what I am planning on getting. And wet sanding!! Does anybody know of any good tutorials here or somewhere else online? All I can find are ones for cars and stuff doing mirror finishes. Exactly how shiny do I want the bucket to be? (I have never seen a TFA bucket in person) I have tools so I should be good there, anything else I need to know? I hope to pick up supplies either this Friday or Saturday and then start working on the bucket at least by next week. Cheers! -
Well, first off cameras nowadays are a lot better, thus picking up more detail. The new TKs are built to be seen up close. Being able to move is also another reason. In all the OT films we just see the TKs shuffling along, but for new movies, like RO, they need to be able to run and whatnot.

No. I do not think this will happen anytime soon.

All of these photos were taken by Battlefront Captures. Here's their website, you can contact them about specifically taking images of the jump pack. https://battlefrontcaptures.github.io/

Well, since it's for personal use then there should be no debate in my opinion. Go for it. But, sadly, I am not sure how accurate the Hasbro buckets are compared to the movie ones..

I'll try right now! Edit: XboxOne.. Why?? I am currently unable to take screenshots, don't know why.

6"2 180 Fit Question on (A or B) or option C?
T K replied to DecipherTaughtMe's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Some sound advice from Brian. And don't be afraid to build it yourself! You'll have plenty of support and guidance from us here and if you contact your local garrison I am sure they would be happy to help out as well. -

Impressive. How long is the print going to take? I imagine a very long time. Be sure to keep us updated! -

T K replied to agordon117's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Yup, the calfs. I was stuck there just like you. Was your overhang like this? (This was before I trimmed anything to fit me) Remember, when measuring how much to cut off, have your boots on. And trim the front first! For which shin is which, I recommend taking a look at Tony's guide. (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/page-13#entry462538) Take notice of the curves on the sides of the shins. This is how I decided which are which. Cheers! -
JAFO'S FIRST ORDER STORMTROOPER BUILD (Jimmiroquai)
T K replied to JAFO's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This is coming along well. The FOTK definitely takes a lot longer than a OTTK. Great job! -
I believe trooperbay sells them. Edit: Here, both inner and outer. ----------

Sad day. To help out, could you define what you are exactly looking for? Latex? ABS? If abs, what maker (to help match plastic)?

CRL für Magmatrooper (Battlefront) erstellen
T K replied to Magmatrooper1205's topic in Unterstützung auf Deutsch
Andreas! -
TFA First Order Stormtrooper Helmet Build
T K posted a topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Here is a beautiful helmet from Derrek (Dday). I received this helmet a couple weeks ago, but due to being at university I had not had the opportunity to work on it. I am starting this thread now to start getting advice from all y'all. Here's some pics. The Kit A little work needed, but overall a very clean casting. This is the second version of this helmet that Derrek has done, take a look at the mesh! A little filling to be done, not much. The seam line needs sanding. I have two weeks of lectures left and a week of finals, so hopefully in three weeks I can start working on this! Any tips or techniques that you'll think will be helpful before I start please feel free to share. Cheers! -
If you have it, Facebook works pretty well. That's what I have been using lately.

This looks like a FX recast. This armor, if built correctly, can be approved for 501st. The price sure is tempting, but it's a gamble whether the armor itself is good or not... Would you rather spend $200 on something that might be good, or spend a couple hundred of dollars more and know for sure you'll get something strong and durable. Ultimately I'd recommend armor from a maker here, so you'll know you get something that will last. Cheers!

Hey Adam! I am so glad you started a build thread! If you work hard you should be able to finish before Rogue One, but like you said, the possibility of messing up and making sure you do a good job might be more important than getting it completed fast. Cheers and I look forward to seeing your progress.
