Good to hear. I completely understand the desire to get suited up fast, but you made the right decision.

No harm in doing that. That’d be a good step. And just be careful. Though I wish everyone was honest thats just not the case. Just proceed with caution. I hope all goes well and let us know of any details that you find out.

Here's a picture for others to see. This does indeed look like AM armor, but there would be some things that I would avoid. First is this kit is partially assembled, and who knows what type of glue he used. The biceps, forearms, and shins are all constructed and it may not fit you well. I would rather start fresh than one that is partially constructed. Another concern I had was the two plates in the back. I am by no means an expert, but this looks like some sort of recast. Note the difference in the color of white. This means someone might have taken some armor and copied it, which often leads to weak plastic and other problems. Ultimately the price looks great, but I would avoid purchasing this kit. I would recommend saving up a little longer to be sure of a quality kit. Also, the AM kit fits those who are a bit larger, so I would reach out to armor makers, troopers here, and your local garrison to get a sense of what kit would be best for you. Good luck!

Looking great! One thing to mention would be the 'hovi mic tips.' Notice how screen used ones have white around the edges on the front (something I still need to do). I am not sure if they will mention that, but your kit looks pretty dang good! Good luck!

A few smudges and marks are okay, but like said above, TKs are usually pretty clean. Here is a TK from ANH. Notice the marks. ----------- Simply try to stay clean, if you want, look at the Troopers in the movies. I recommend not making it dirty and allowing your armor to naturally gain 'weathering'.

So since I plan on getting FOTK armor when I get back in two years, I'll just finish this paint job alongside that so they both match. Cheers! And good luck on all your endeavors!

So ideally I should have started with black? Haha, well, I've made some mistakes that will result in a total repaint (rather it look really good than settle). But that means it won't be done for two years.

I'm still at the point of painting white, but I'd like to get some advice on masking for the black paint. What is the best way that has worked best for you?

I don't want to be seen as someone who hates the current HWT, I just believe that we can do better. I know this all can't be implemented now, But hopefully in the future we can make the appropriate changes. Cheers!

I hate to disagree with you, but the new CRL should not incorporate an antenna. We never see a HWT with it. All those who have one or are building one now shouldn't worry about it, but any new HWT should be aware that antennas are not present on the HWT. It is just my hope that while we are updating the HWT that we make it the best and most accurate and bring it up to standard like the other TKs. What we see on screen (not every little gaffers tape and stuff) is what we have laid out for the standard. We don't see a TK holding a T-21, so if we don't see a HWT holding one then it should not be an option (for non canon troops go for it!). This even brings attention to the pauldron colors. Although they look good, we never ever see a HWT with a black or white pauldron, only the TDs have those. I reckon that orange should be the only acceptable color for the pauldron. And even the shape of the packs that we make are incorrect. The HWT have a more square look to it. Granted the game is low res, but if the pack had the same contours of the ones we make we would see it in game. I believe that the packs should be overhauled on the acceptable shape. Look at the new Jedha packs. The HWT should be more on the line with this concerning shape (not the bend in the pack like a TDs, but the squared look to it). Look to the games. What do we see? That's what should be incorporated into the CRL. Not to expand on it and make it cooler (which is fun tbh).

Haha, yeah. I know a lot of people do. But the fact is we never see it on a HWT. But it now we have Rogue One! There are two troopers that have packs with antennas.

No more antenna! And possibly a crack down on the correct weapons to use? (E-11, missile launcher, DLT-19, and scout pistol)

Something happened today... White! Finally! This is the first coat of white before any wet-sanding. Hoping to do that tomorrow morning. Next to my OT Anovos for whiteness comparison.

Also, the 'white' version is grey. And the soles... For the price you'd pay I, in my opinion, would just buy the boots that most of us here go with. You would be shelling out a bit more cash, but you will avoid any potential problems that you could face with these boots.

Looking good!! This costume will be a lot easier to store than a TK. I built my TK before going to college.
