  1. Here is a beautiful helmet from Derrek (Dday). I received this helmet a couple weeks ago, but due to being at university I had not had the opportunity to work on it. I am starting this thread now to start getting advice from all y'all. Here's some pics. The Kit A little work needed, but overall a very clean casting. This is the second version of this helmet that Derrek has done, take a look at the mesh! A little filling to be done, not much. The seam line needs sanding. I have two weeks of lectures left and a week of finals, so hopefully in three weeks I can start working on this! Any tips or techniques that you'll think will be helpful before I start please feel free to share. Cheers!
  2. If you have it, Facebook works pretty well. That's what I have been using lately.
  3. This looks like a FX recast. This armor, if built correctly, can be approved for 501st. The price sure is tempting, but it's a gamble whether the armor itself is good or not... Would you rather spend $200 on something that might be good, or spend a couple hundred of dollars more and know for sure you'll get something strong and durable. Ultimately I'd recommend armor from a maker here, so you'll know you get something that will last. Cheers!
  4. Hey Adam! I am so glad you started a build thread! If you work hard you should be able to finish before Rogue One, but like you said, the possibility of messing up and making sure you do a good job might be more important than getting it completed fast. Cheers and I look forward to seeing your progress.
  5. Hey Barry! I am glad to hear that you are ready to build a TK! It looks like you most of the pieces are already trimmed, so that will help cut down the work time. I can't wait to see your progress on this? Also, is it your goal to have this finished before Rogue One?
  6. Talk to your Garrison. We don't live in your area. We might not have your laws. They do. Talk to Them.
  7. Build your blaster or not. I guess it's down to that. The CRL ain't a guide friend. It's a reference.
  8. Like Marc said. Online. I found my on Amazon.
  9. The CRL stands. Anything scratchbuilt to look like something is based on that thing. The idea has a root to that thing, in this case a real life gun that was used during the filming of a movie. If your laws don't allow you to have replicas, or anything resembling a firearm, don't troop with it. Simple as that.
  10. Who cares if you are right or wrong [Edit: This statement is not meant to be rude ]? This is a charity organization. This is a club in which we dress as plasticspace men based from a movie to make people happy. I can understand what you're trying to do, I truly do, but frankly your argument is not achieving anything. I hold you in the highest respect, so please let's stop bickering and move on.
  11. Dude, if your worried about what's accepted in your area talk to your Garrison. I'm sure they figured this out long ago.
  12. Awesome, looks like you had a blast. Love you First Order.
  13. Awesome! Thank you web guru!
  14. I totally agree with you, this would be a huge undertaking. I was looking at the CRL for ANH Stunt. I know this would probably take forever, but having a picture for each bullet point would be great. I did the math and we would need 161 pictures (not including the blaster). Haha, so my thought is that we can combine a couple into one visual (combine some of the helmet requirements into one) to shorten the amount we will need. Another thing to note is that many of these diagrams will apply to more than one costume. Crazy amount of work needed to be done, but I think if we set up a sort of tutorial/guide for making these (these will show what fonts to use, the size of fonts, the thickness of lines, exact colors to use, etc...) and set up a checklist of visuals that need to be completed. This way members who have photoshop skills could learn what to do and work on it. When they complete a visual they will turn it in and we would have someone look over it to make sure it meets that standards we set forth and either approve it for use or not. I'm just spouting ideas out, not sure how feasible they are, but it's worth the thought. Cheers!
  15. Now that would be nice! I would love to see you attempt this, 'cause I think it will look darn cool.
  16. You can view the page even if you don't have a FB account. The link I shared will take you to their page and it can be viewed by anyone. Edit: Sorry if I derailed the thread a bit Kalani...
  17. I'd ask Shawn (CrookKnight) Take a look at their FB page as well, that's where I saw it originally. https://www.facebook.com/ImperialTrooperPacks/?fref=ts
  18. Very cool! But first I need a FOTK... Too many cool things. Great work!
  19. Haha, thus begins the seemingly endless waiting. But at least it's only 4-6 weeks! Usually (depending on the armor) it takes 4-6 months. Do it! You can start a thread here if you'd like. Cheers!
  20. It's coming together! One thing I saw someone do, and I love it and hope you might consider it is this. --------- Have a place to put your E-11 on the side. Haha, just loved this idea and wanted to share it with you.
  21. Order from who? Doopy Doos: http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtrooper-e-11-complete-anh-e-11-blaster-kit-offer-2685-p.asp Hyperfirm (Send him a PM): http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/user/1330-slavefive/
  22. I have a doopydoo and it is great. Just know that all-in-all you'll probably be spending $130ish (which include the shipping from UK) to finish the gun. At that amount of money you'll only be $30 away from a Hyperfirm. If I had know this I would have gotten a Hyperfirm instead. Don't get me wrong, I love my Doopy Doos blaster, it's a great blaster for accuracy, but I love my Hyperfirm DLT. The fact that you can let a child or anyone hold it and if they drop it your blaster will be fine. It's up to you, but I recommend the rubber opposed to the resin.
  23. Not to be lost and forgotten.
