  3. if you use a template glued to the tube then you shouldn't go wrong. Just take your time. There really is something quite satisfying about a tube with loads of holes drilled in it. for it to be screen accurate you will need to drill them all as you can still see them a bit even with the T-track on.....
  4. got mine yesterday Paul, thanks mate they are perfect!
  5. And you are? It would be a good idea to introduce yourself first in the new members section with a brief story of yourself. Dan and Matt have been lumped together as we all know they used to work together selling and producing armor and up until recently have both had similar business practices in not returning emails and coming up with a bunch of excuses when they do. I know Dan doesn't work with Matt on this new project but they are very similar in the way they go about their business from a customers point of view. It doesn't take a big part of your day whatever you are doing to contact the people that have payed in advance in good faith for goods, and be kept waiting for over a year for those goods without so much of a short update to put the customer at ease about their investment. It is only recently that both Matt and Dan have started to reply to emails and catch up on back orders. I have not had a purchase with Dan and yes he might be a stand up guy and love and be proud of what he does but that is no excuse to be reading what I have read from customers that have payed alot of money for helmets and armor. There are many threads on many forums about both Matt and Dan so I suggest that you read up and take in customer reviews before saying that it is atrocious and ridiculous..... Dan isn't Matt and visa versa but they both have their faults when it comes to customer service...... I must also add that Matt seems to have got himself together recently and so has Dan from what I hear and are both sending out/catching up orders. I waited over a year for my armor from Matt and am still waiting for the 2 helmets I have payed for, which I have been told will be sent out soon.........along with the missing armor parts! So please excuse people getting pissed off if they have invested thousands of $ and not seen anything for their money. Matt, I am Happy as I know you will probably see this! Mark.
  6. I second that. Good call. seals direct all the way....
  7. I would always wash resin parts as they may still have a release agent on them from the demolding process. You can use an epoxy, a super glue and I haven't used E6000 but I'm sure you could.
  8. Good shout Tom. I'll do that!
  9. From what I've seen it's just riveted through the front of the plate. The rivet then painted white.
  10. Hi Shawn, I am ready to paint but the weather here is crap and wet and cold so as I have to do it outside I have to wait for the weather to improve. It's a waiting game now......
  11. I think Stomper here makes them.
  12. I've just seen it in 3D and thought it was great. A real visual feast. But nothing will replace SW in my heart. I think having seen SW when I was 7 helped lock it into the depths of my soul.........
  13. TE has quit ANH but is doing ROTJ now......
  14. Oooooohhhhhh, I'd be up for a pair of these.
  15. Thanks guys and Peter! That's what I'm after!
  16. Hi, I might be playing a bit blonde here but I can't seem to find a visual library of referenve pics for the ANH armor. I can find requirements but no Pics?
  17. Looking at the pictures that Butt plate needs trimming! Should I fold the edge over to or just trim it?
  18. Hi Tom, I soaked it for a few hours but to be honest if I were to do it again I wouldn't bother and go straight in with the sanding. I have to prep it all for painting now but I'm not gonna rush as I have to do it outside and the weather is pants ere at the mo!
  19. OK, a couple of days later and I have separated and sanded of all the Superglue off and am ready to sand the parts ready for painting. I haven't bothered separating the arms as I think Matt must have done these first and don't look too bad!
  20. Well, I have separated all the parts and removed most of the superglue by picking and sanding. I think Matt had shares in Superglue, he used so much! I think I'm nearly ready to sand it all and repaint. I'll have to wait for some nice weather as I don't have a workshop or garage.
  21. Looks great! Looks like Matt made a bit more effort with yours than mine! great stuff.....
  22. Thanks Brian...... I've just been soaking the parts in a hot bath for a couple of hours as I have been told it softens the glue . Superglue hates water apparently. I'll let you know how I get on.
  23. Well, I've managed to separate most of the parts but I am now left with loads of residue. I think Matt used super glue to put the whole thing together. Does anyone know if I can use superglue remover on ABS? Or would it be better to sand the residue off?
  24. Ask DL what the mold was like. He cleaned it up when it came from Matt.
