  1. You'll have to go hero with the 3 vents as the stunts had 4. that means bubble lenses and a lower brow.. What helmet is that? The features look really soft.
  2. Hi, did you finish your blaster? I'm currently trying to build an ESB blaster and I'm finding it difficult finding greeblies too. Do you have any spare?
  3. I'm building a scratch too but out of aluminium. I managed to buy a receiver tube with holes already drilled so I didn't have that head ache it's the rest of it I'm finding quite hard. Cutting all the parts out of ali isn't easyand the bending is difficult too. Yours is looking a good start. I'll keep checking in for updates.
  4. Doug , I couldn't have put it any better. I unfortunately am in a buying deal with TE and had I known in advance how long and drawn out this process was gonna be I don't think I would have bothered. The only thing I did know was this suit I am supposedly getting is where it all started. In hindsight I sshould have gone to either XXXX TE2, Paul TM or waited for the new DL if I had known about it then.
  5. I'm friendly all the way....... I just wanted to ascertain what is right and what is wrong. There are so many conflicting rules as to who, when, what, why etc are allowed to and accepted to recast. It's a touchy subject and I doubt we'll ever get to the bottom of it. I have just never understood why some are accepted and some aren't. I know that if you recast a studio or screen used item that's your right to do so within the community but I have never understood how people that recast that work seem to be accepted too...........but only sometimes? I am a collector of all SW props and not just TK's so I don't have a huge collection of TK suits. I have been waiting on an old TE suit from the first run( a friend of his had it in the garage for years and never got round to putting it together) as I think it is as close to the real thing as I will ever find, being a first generation cast. On a different note, I have been chatting to DL via email and he seems very nice and helpful too. Thanks for that!
  6. Looks interesting, I'd be interested to see how it holds up in the long run.....
  7. Hi Rolf, Not to hijack your thread. But just to clear a few thing up. If I would to recast my TE would that be lawful? Because that is all CAP did and ATA just recast CAP. I'm not in for an argument and I have no intention of recasting unless I get the blessing of the 501st, but I still don't understand why some recasts are accepted and some aren't? Surely a recast is a recast? I just wish someone could clear this up. I have worked in the film prop business and know I could do a bang up job if I wanted to and the quality and price would be competitive. This is only a hypothetical discussion.
  8. It certainly looks good after the mods......Might have o get myself one of those.
  9. Your not wrong! Difficult as it is you just have to take it with a pinch of salt, and it's normally the usual suspects every time! I think you have to remember it's the REPLICA prop forum,
  10. These pictures look fantastic I love the way you have recreated the 70's shots and yes you would kick that 70's TK's a**! I often thought that the originals were rather skinny, or is it that I am just fat? Now don't get me wrong great shots as they are, but is this armor not an open recast of TE2? If so why is it being flaunted and praised here?. This is not a dig and maybe when you bought it you didn't know but how did you get EIB status with an open recast? Just trying to get my head around the rules here? sometimes it is very confusing what is accepted and what isn't. I'm just curious.
  11. I've been waiting since Nov 08 for an old TE SFS ANH full set of armor. I have been told it will be shipped within the next couple of weeks..........we'll see!
  12. Sorry to hear of your loss Joe. He sounds like he was a great guy and a good soldier.
  13. Hi Brian, I would love a signed copy please
  14. Jez, now you mention it he might have even said it was Nick. That rings a bell. Did Nick not have something to do with the blasters too? I know baptys was the armourer but i'm sure nick had some thing to do with building them up? Or maybe I dreamt that up
  15. Some very valid points there Jez, thanks. @Jumpin jax. There are so many detail in this case that none of us are unfortunately gonna know or ever find out. I believe AA also did the Tusken Raider although I try and varify that. But I seem to remember Andrew mentioning it a long time ago. I think he is back in court within the next couple of weeks, so watch this space. Also jumpin jax I have no beef with you and everyone has their own opinion but I think it is wrong to call people names when they are not members and cannot defend them selves.
  16. I find all this quite pointless. For example I'm a hairdresser and have been for over 20years. I pride myself on the quality of my work and charge quite high prices for doing so. This would be like asking me to do a half price haircut and put half the effort and quality into my work. I would not do that because my haircuts are my advertising. Crap haircuts = no work. I cannot see any self respecting artisan doing this.
  17. I'm in the uk and I used Wickes appliance White for my TE HDPE lid. I found this an excelent colour as it is a slightly warm off White which I think looks closer to the originals. Don't forget that the armor was abs and the lids were HDPE so they never matched anyway.
  18. But in an English court of law they are! The license only last 15 years as it is industrial design. Don't forget what is law in the States is very different to law in the UK. Things were said by AA that shouldn't have been said granted, but it doesn't change the law and that is all GL and AA have on their side. Do you know AA? He is far from a complete moron. I beg anyone here to not fabricate and big up your involvement in something if you are being sued for £30 million!. I think he could have said things differently but he didn't. As I said I am not excusing his words, he shouldn't have said what he did. But none of us was there in 1976 when he was. So none of us can comment on what was said and done. It is between GL and AA and it's their fight. To pass judgment on someone from what you have read is ignorant so don't go there......... And to just add that without AA none of you would be wearing that armor you are now....
  19. I'd say that is a good price for that scope but it isn't accurate. you want a M38, M40 or a M19. That particular scope has the additional recess for a light bulb attachment in the middle of the scope. you can fill that section with body filler and respray it and it would look a lot closer..... Here are some shots of the different scopes for ya............: M38A2 Also called the M77G M38 M40 M19 And a comparison between the M38A2 and the M38
  20. The problem is GL does mind, He went after SDS didn't he? And that's all based on copyright and license.................
  21. Here are some pumpkins I have carved over the years. No SW ones but I'll start that this year ----------
