  1. Well at least he's not a recaster! He should at least get some credit for that : Not the most accurate armor I've ever seen but original never the less....
  2. Have I already said I'm in for two copies. :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper: Sorry Brian, just getting excited. :
  3. That looks great. I think 2-3 layers is good. Always remember that the more layers you apply the softer the features become. Paint always gathers in the detail areas and fills the somewhat.
  4. I think latex would be a real PITA to get out of every nook and cranny. It would get into the barrel, receiver, cocking chamber etc. etc.......
  5. I had this before shadow/stealths were made by anyone like MR etc.......
  6. Cheers guys!
  7. Hi, Well here is my prototype SDS Stealth/Shadow trooper lid that I got from Andrew about 4 or 5 years ago. It's slightly different to most out there as it's made from satin black ABS and not Gloss. You may have seen it before on Jez's great site StarWarsHelmets.com If not here it is:
  8. Hi Matthew, I'm fine with that if Celeb is. That's a really kind gesture, Thanks! I noticed your signature earlier and it did make me laugh. Mark.
  9. I'm the lucky ******* that has bought this beauty . I was thinking if it can be spayed with a water colour paint it could be simply washed off upon arrival?
  10. You'll have to go hero with the 3 vents as the stunts had 4. that means bubble lenses and a lower brow.. What helmet is that? The features look really soft.
  11. Hi, did you finish your blaster? I'm currently trying to build an ESB blaster and I'm finding it difficult finding greeblies too. Do you have any spare?
  12. Looking good Mark.
  13. I'm building a scratch too but out of aluminium. I managed to buy a receiver tube with holes already drilled so I didn't have that head ache it's the rest of it I'm finding quite hard. Cutting all the parts out of ali isn't easyand the bending is difficult too. Yours is looking a good start. I'll keep checking in for updates.
  14. Doug , I couldn't have put it any better. I unfortunately am in a buying deal with TE and had I known in advance how long and drawn out this process was gonna be I don't think I would have bothered. The only thing I did know was this suit I am supposedly getting is where it all started. In hindsight I sshould have gone to either XXXX TE2, Paul TM or waited for the new DL if I had known about it then.
  15. I'm friendly all the way....... I just wanted to ascertain what is right and what is wrong. There are so many conflicting rules as to who, when, what, why etc are allowed to and accepted to recast. It's a touchy subject and I doubt we'll ever get to the bottom of it. I have just never understood why some are accepted and some aren't. I know that if you recast a studio or screen used item that's your right to do so within the community but I have never understood how people that recast that work seem to be accepted too...........but only sometimes? I am a collector of all SW props and not just TK's so I don't have a huge collection of TK suits. I have been waiting on an old TE suit from the first run( a friend of his had it in the garage for years and never got round to putting it together) as I think it is as close to the real thing as I will ever find, being a first generation cast. On a different note, I have been chatting to DL via email and he seems very nice and helpful too. Thanks for that!
  16. Looks interesting, I'd be interested to see how it holds up in the long run.....
  17. Hi Rolf, Not to hijack your thread. But just to clear a few thing up. If I would to recast my TE would that be lawful? Because that is all CAP did and ATA just recast CAP. I'm not in for an argument and I have no intention of recasting unless I get the blessing of the 501st, but I still don't understand why some recasts are accepted and some aren't? Surely a recast is a recast? I just wish someone could clear this up. I have worked in the film prop business and know I could do a bang up job if I wanted to and the quality and price would be competitive. This is only a hypothetical discussion.
  18. It certainly looks good after the mods......Might have o get myself one of those.
  19. Your not wrong! Difficult as it is you just have to take it with a pinch of salt, and it's normally the usual suspects every time! I think you have to remember it's the REPLICA prop forum,
  20. These pictures look fantastic I love the way you have recreated the 70's shots and yes you would kick that 70's TK's a**! I often thought that the originals were rather skinny, or is it that I am just fat? Now don't get me wrong great shots as they are, but is this armor not an open recast of TE2? If so why is it being flaunted and praised here?. This is not a dig and maybe when you bought it you didn't know but how did you get EIB status with an open recast? Just trying to get my head around the rules here? sometimes it is very confusing what is accepted and what isn't. I'm just curious.
  21. I've been waiting since Nov 08 for an old TE SFS ANH full set of armor. I have been told it will be shipped within the next couple of weeks..........we'll see!
  22. Sorry to hear of your loss Joe. He sounds like he was a great guy and a good soldier.
  23. Hi Brian, I would love a signed copy please
  24. Jez, now you mention it he might have even said it was Nick. That rings a bell. Did Nick not have something to do with the blasters too? I know baptys was the armourer but i'm sure nick had some thing to do with building them up? Or maybe I dreamt that up
