  1. Sooooooo, give the guy a break. Paul has given you something that know one else has ever done. Original or not his sculpts are closer to the originals than you will get anywhere else. What is the point of this thread. We have all had our differences but I suggest buying one and try matching it up to anything else on offer. You won't. Pauls eye for detail is like no one elses. If you don't like it don't buy it. That goes for any armour out there.
  2. Your best IMO vox kit is the RomFX, ---- It's loud, clear and gives you the static clicks. Combine this with a pair of ---- and you'll have a great set up.....
  3. That's exactly what I meant....
  4. All mine are hollow. I supply the mesh pre cut. I've found the easiest way is to find an insert that fits the top where the mesh goes. Place the mesh over the insert and hold securely. Then you simply cut round it with some small wire snips. I'll take a pic when I get home from work tonight. If you mess up I have plenty of mesh to spare.
  5. I just tried to send a PM and got the error message too.........
  6. Looking great Steve now crack on and finish this sucker......
  7. I have a couple of metal cased large eagle counters. Those are the ones you are after. Counters come up from time to time on here and on the RPF. Mostly plastic cased and if you're lucky with the small eagle logo. The metal cased large eagle ones are quite rare and rarely come up for sale. I was lucky and spotted the latest on on the RPF at a great price. And NO, I'm not selling one:lol Sorry.....
  8. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
  9. Damian, You want to get out more..... Congrats man....
  10. I have mic tips for sale........ ----
  11. I'm getting a temporary unavailable as well
  12. Looking good Steve. I'm lovin' the lenses and that pull ain't half bad....
  13. The liquid plastic weld is basically Acetone. The best way to weld the plastic is to clamp it or use strong magnets to hold the two pieces together then get the plastic weld/Acetone on a brush and just touch the seam and the liquid will seep into the join and weld the two pieces together. Another little tip is if you dissolve shreds of the plastic you are welding together into the acteone you can make a paste glue that exactly matches the plastic you are gluing together.
  14. They don't seem to be that easy to track down. The size will really help Paul, thanks. Ebay I guess or surplus army stores....
  15. Cracking post Mike! I have always admired your tutorials....
  16. That's what I'm talking about. If you don't want to share don't say anything to start with. Enjoy what you have but don't flaunt it in peoples faces and not expect a reaction.
  17. I didn't start this thread to have a go at anyone and Paul, I'm sorry you think it's aimed at you. It's Aimed at everyone who does it. What I don't like is that people tell everyone they know or have information yet can't/ won't share it. Yeah it's your decision but if you feel the need to keep it to yourself for whatever reason why bring it up in the first place? That's what bugs me.
  18. I just thought I should clarify a bit. I'm not here to judge you on wether or not you agree to horde info to yourself but just to find out what you think. If you do agree, why? If you don't, Why? It's a discussion nothing more.
  19. Dan, You might think im flogging an old Donkey but the only reason I started this thread is because the topic gets bought up time and time again in other threads and takes them off topic. Here it is on topic. I personally don't agree with info hoarding but that's my opinion. And yes everyone is going to have their opinion as do you. But here is the place to air it. So do you agree with it or not. Just to tell me I can't discuss it isn't helping anyone either.
  20. I just thought I would start a thread on the topic of keeping information etc to yourself when it could help everyone attain more accurate costumes? It's a very hot subject. I agree that newbies should do their homework but how can they if all the information and details and photos are kept secret? Yes it's alot of work researching all the little details and finding out original makes and parts. But that's what I find the fun bit and to me it makes it all the better of I can share that with the community. I would also like to give you guys the chance to share any related info you feel may be unknown and post it here with your own views on this matter of "I found this out why should I tell you " attitude. Let the games begin.
  21. This stuff's the mugs nuts....., I went through every clear coat in Halfords and some.
  22. Hi Rob, I'm not sure that's strictly true for all ANH helmets. There would have been some discrepancy in the colour of HDPE just through the manufacturing process from sheet to sheet and different batches. But if the same sheet was used for the whole helmet then the faceplate would be the same colour as the back n cap. The one you've seen may well be but not all. I've seen the same HDPE in SDS's workshop and the parts I saw were all the same shade.
  23. Hi Guys, I just thought that I would give the UK troopers a heads up on a clear coat I have found and tried out tonight on a TK lid.Not sure if you get this stuff world wide??? It covers like a dream, really easy to apply and doesn't make the paint already on the lid bubble or crack. This is by far the best I have tried and believe me I've tried loads. I only applied the white gloss appliance white two days ago and if I had tried to clear coat it with any other s I tried before the paint would have bubbled up and cracked, orange peeled etc. But NOT with this stuff...... Why I even tried it until I had left he white to cure is beyond me, just very impatient I guess. I've lost count how many lids I've had to redo through impatience but this stuff is the answer to my dreams.....and now yours.....
  24. Hey Mike, Is this one of yours? It's one of my favorite pieces in my collection. The attention to detail is outstanding and if I didn't know better I would think I was looking at an original.... -------------- If not I'll pull it down but if it is , Thanks!
  25. very cool, nicely done mate....
