  1. Celeb, my other blaster is a Sterling so this is really light in comparison. Great blaster. :dancing-trooper: Who made it?
  2. My ROTJ blaster arrived safe and sound and `i'm chuffed to bits except someone painted it all white! Seriously though Matt you did a fantastic job and I highly recommend this method, Mine was even mostly metal and it still got through. I gave it a shower and it looks as good as new....
  3. Matt told me that he will send my armor and lids out this week ...............AGAIN.............
  4. Hi Vaj, Andrew does use a Formech but it is heavily modified with extra tanks to create a huge vacuum far superior to the original. I'll try and get some more info on the table when I go over and play..
  5. I know AA and I do believe he had something to do with the original sculpt but only as far as preparing and reshaping bucks etc for vac forming. When he said what he did in the first place, I think he had no idea it would come to back him as much as it did. It was unfortunate that he said what he did as I don't think he knew of Elizabeth who sadly passed away. GL was appealing against 35 copyrights and lost all of them. Another interesting point is that AA was willing to put his house, 30 years of business and basically his whole life on the line from the start against GL. So he knew something that the LFL big lawyers didn't from the word go. He also had the best copyright lawyers in the country that gave him sound advice it would seem. The fact that GL didn't contest certain points of the sculpting would suggest that it wasn't as all clear cut as we thought in the first place. You may not all like the guy from what he has said and what has been read but he must be right on more than we give him credit for. Incidentally on a different note I'm going over to his workshop in between Xmas and new year for a play on his vac former and experiment with some different plastics for a bit of fun. I may post some pics if anyone is interested. I'm not after a bashing like the last one I got so if you object speak up now and I'll keep them to myself. Happy Xmas to you all........
  6. Hi Brian, Just to let you know my books arrived today just in time for an Xmas read! Thanks! Have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year. kindest regards, Mark.
  7. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you all........
  8. This is the letter I sent to JumipnJax THat I got no reply from. I thought as he was Matt best mate he might pass it on. I now think this might be Matt? I first contacted Matt about his armor and lids in Nov08 when he had some posted up on his web page. We got talking and after a month or so of good banter and late evening chats I took the plunge and ordered and payed for a ANH SFS helmet(2nd Dec) a little while went passed and he told me of a set of ANH armor he had in a friends garage that had been in there for years, his mate had never got around to doing anything with it. He said that it would look great with the lid I had purchased. So he said that he was having real financial problem due to having to go into hospital and have an operation on his hand. I agreed to pay again up front for this armor, baring on mind I hadn't even seen a picture of anything I was buying and took Matt on his word. He did say that there would be a delay as he had to assemble the lid and armor and paint it and weather played a big part in this. I was happy to wait. Emails exchanged and we kept in touch over the pursuing months. He then told me of the ROTJ stuff he was doing and talked me round to getting one of those and again paying in full in advance. That was Aug 09. Since then emails have been getting short, blunt and the excuses have been getting more and more frequent. Car blew up, Hospital, Hand operation, Burnt leg, lost his job, Bankrupt etc,etc.....you get the picture. After lots of emails from me asking where my goods are Matt eventually got back to me with yet another excuse saying that he was out of work no money and things were really tuff and the only delay was the shipping cost which he initially said he was going to pay for all the delay. I offered to pay so I could get my armor etc. On the 22nd of Nov 09 I payed him the total of $180 for shipping. I heard nothing for a few days and a few emails later he got back to me saying he had been away for thanksgiving and that he had got the payment for shipping. I have now given him $1755 and have nothing to show for it and Matt is refusing to answer any of my emails. If I had been a pushy customer I could understand this but I haven't. I have been totally patient and understanding to all the stories and excuses i have been given over the last year. I'm afraid now I won't ever see what I've payed and have no understanding of why. I have been patient, civil, pleasant and payed in full. A perfect customer yet Matt chooses to treat me this way. Anyway I think you get the picture of the position I am in and I only say this to you as I know you hold him close a a good friend. I placed a lot of trust in Matt and payed him alot of money. All I ask is if maybe you could get Matt to contact me and either issue me a full refund or send me my goods. I am a good man, father and husband and really don't deserve this. If he still refuses to send me my goods or money then I will persue this with legal action. I don't want it to come to this but he will leave me no choice. I have since spoken to Matt this week on Monday and he assured me that all my stuff would be shipped out in Wed. Wed came and went so I emailed him and he said that he had been at the kids school Wed and Thursday and that he would ship out today(Friday) I still haven't heard from him and have just emailed him asking if indeed he did ship today?
  9. I love my MacBook Pro! You don't need any virus software they are very stable, fast, look good!, plug anything into it and it just works. I would never go back to PC.
  10. Looks great, I really admire what you are doing. It's an inspiration to us all....... I'm the largest I've been for years and I certainly don't have your excuse, I'm just lazy......
  11. That's friggin' outstanding my man! I can't believe I missed this build. Matthew are you on the RPF? This would definitely have a place there and many eager followers. I've pulled up a chair and I'm waiting for the next installment.
  12. Well at least he's not a recaster! He should at least get some credit for that : Not the most accurate armor I've ever seen but original never the less....
  13. Have I already said I'm in for two copies. :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper: Sorry Brian, just getting excited. :
  14. That looks great. I think 2-3 layers is good. Always remember that the more layers you apply the softer the features become. Paint always gathers in the detail areas and fills the somewhat.
  15. I think latex would be a real PITA to get out of every nook and cranny. It would get into the barrel, receiver, cocking chamber etc. etc.......
  16. I had this before shadow/stealths were made by anyone like MR etc.......
  17. Hi, Well here is my prototype SDS Stealth/Shadow trooper lid that I got from Andrew about 4 or 5 years ago. It's slightly different to most out there as it's made from satin black ABS and not Gloss. You may have seen it before on Jez's great site StarWarsHelmets.com If not here it is:
  18. Hi Matthew, I'm fine with that if Celeb is. That's a really kind gesture, Thanks! I noticed your signature earlier and it did make me laugh. Mark.
  19. I'm the lucky ******* that has bought this beauty . I was thinking if it can be spayed with a water colour paint it could be simply washed off upon arrival?
