That image looks confirm that there is a pleat at least on the left side, creating a sort of raised panel. You can see the bottom edge is continuous. Still can't see the right side clearly, but IMO looking at the next image, both sides appear to match which would imply a second pleat rather than 2 panels over lapping. To have a pleat on one side and then an overlap on the other feels like a strange aesthetic choice. Gloves, they are just leather gloves. Not R1 style. See this promo image There is no padding, or the detail on the index finger.

Kama first pass done. The references are "not amazing" due to being very dark, and lightening them can't bring back detail that wasn't there because of that. I think only the hips are quilted, in a diamond pattern, and all the rest are plain padded panels. I also can't find a good rear angle from the left to confirm that it is actually 2 panels overlapped, some images hint it could be 1 panel with a 2 pleats to get a raised centre section. I also made a couple of minor tweaks to the belt as I was zoomed in and was able to refine. A few specifics are missing like the belt widths but otherwise the bulk done ready for further refinement.

I know Paul well so with that bias in mind, all I can say is the shortages are real and he's been stuffed over more than once by suppliers. That said I'll try bring this to bring this to his attention. -
Stormtrooper "grilled by police"! (Scotland)

The problem we have is that in Star Wars all the weapons look like real world weapons due to the aesthetic chosen back in the 70s. Whilst that’s changing a bit with other franchises, we’re not carrying phasers. This means you really really need to be aware of who might see this and the conclusions and consequences that may lead to. One thing that’s worth mentioning and probably not overly well known is that in the UK is simply owning an E-11 could potentially be a firearms offence, and so can REALLY land you in hot water if you don’t use some common sense. Due to the appearance it falls under the legislation for a “Replica Imitation Firearm”. Without going too far into it as I am not qualified to do so, the manufacture and possession is illegal without a “reasonable excuse”. This is a nice summary from some one who at least appears to know what they are on about: https://www.askthe.police.uk/faq/?id=587bc863-12db-eb11-bacb-0022483f57c9 -
Anovos TK kit Instruction

No it wouldn't sorry. Things like the cover strips need to be glued on to look right, and a layer of velcro instead, would not only not be up to the job, it would not look right and so not be clearable. This is why glues like E6000 are recommended as if a mistake is made of change required it's a reversible bond than you can remove and re do. -
As Glen says, it's not final but as it stands no leaf until Lvl3. I suspect that will stand for cracks, but I do want to ask about if we want leaf for the armour, not cracks, at level 2 as it is such a major part of the look of this costume. Though I can't imagine basic ever requiring it.

Split rivet question

This probably has what you mean Just bare in mine these are probably getting on for 15 years old at this point, so use them as a guide and don't follow them blindly. Make sure you take into account current standards and practices. -
The way I’ve been drafting it on Enoch, which is based on this draft, is lvl1 can be painted on lvl2 engraved but can be paint and then lvl 3 is engraved and “gold coloured leaf”. Doesn’t have to be actual gold, but leaf does look very different to paint so I think is a valid step up for the top level. This applies to cracks and patches. Once cleared if you need to make repairs then how you handle that is going to be based on personal choice, what you have to hand, time and cost considerations. All still open to discussion, but that needs to start with something.

We are now funded through into the next term, so this funding drive is now closed. Thank you to all of you who donated and have kept the Imperial engine turning. Supporter badges have been applied to all of you. As a reminder the majority of our costs are picked up by the Legion, who are currently having a drive to cover those pretty substantial costs. If you have not yet done so, even $1 will help. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=113646
