  1. Honestly, did you think minds would be changed without showing a picture or screen cap? While leather looks nice, but I've never seen evidence that they were used. Both are totally acceptable for the Legion though.
  2. Split the topic off from the CRL, as the elite program and the CRL project are not related. But to answer your question, the FX is not eligible for elite because of the accuracy of the helmet. Size has nothing to do with it as we have several larger elites, and over sized helmets that are proportionate to screen helmets are acceptable as well. I'm 6'2" and I when I went elite I had an AP helmet.
  3. Working on that now. My first attempt was ok but not great for the second try I'm trying a different product that comes highly recommended. For TD boots the first attempt would have been fine, but these are for a TK.
  4. Sorry those boots aren't acceptable, if you read the description it even says they are Elvis boots. Jodhpurs come in mens sizes, I ordered some for a friend and had no problems. Mens Jodhapur boots: -------
  5. Well ANH was a long time ago and time has shown people to have fuzzy memories, and unfortunately some people (Joe Johnston and others) have even lied about some major details from Star Wars.
  6. Not till the next LMO takes office and gives their 2 cents.
  7. I had a 30 gauge piece of plastic made in mine for extra support. It works great and I have it velcro on the inside of the belt and velcro on a few spots on my armor so it doesn't shift. It works great. BTW where did you see a leather belt on screen?
  8. Here is a thread that may help you out. ----- You'll also need to fit the armor to your body as well. It's the most time consuming mod.
  9. There is a great stuff called Oops, but it's getting harder to find since most stores are only carrying goo-gone and goo-off. What makes Oops different is it's naptha based instead of acetone based. It's also great for getting scuffs out of ABS.
  10. You can mod FX to a point, but if your looking to cover more black you may want to consider RT-Mod armor. It's made for bigger troopers.
  11. How much more room do you need?
  12. Which armor makers shins are you working on? If you just need a little bit, just make an extra large overlap strip in the back (it's what I did).
  13. There is no height or weight requirements for elite. I'm 6'2" BTW.
  14. You are correct sir. Like most threads about Gino or Matt, they start out ok and turn south.
  15. Yes a modded MRCE is acceptable for elite. Personally I think they look better repainted as the white plastic they are made of is much brighter than the FX armor, or the white paints used for other armor makers. But repainting is not required for elite.
  16. Normally the forarms are snug enough to stay in place without the strap to the bicep and may need a piece of foam or two if your arms are small. Do the biceps velcro along the side seams? If so, you can trim some of the edges down so they become smaller when closed.
  17. You've come along way. The one glaring thing that needs to be modded, is the for arms need to be trimmed smaller but not shorter. Also if i were you, I'd contact Rubies about the thigh anyway, it's their problem to correct.
  18. I got banned as well. That's ok, the FISD is where I call my virtual home.
  19. Nice work, that looks great. Does the clip rub on the chin or neck?
  20. Lets everyone take a step back. This discussion is only about the posted costume being eligible for 501st membership.
  21. Good catch Smitty on the boots, I was so busy checking out hte armor I missed them. They are definitely not acceptable.
  22. Well you can tell it was modded and fitted. The forearms are a huge improvement over the out of the box parts. I double checked my ROTJ shots just to make sure but the chest and backplate really need to be fixed. I have no issue with the ROTJ like trim, but they are cut wrong. I'd like to see a shot of the chest armor sitting higher as the ROTJ did to see if that changes the off look of the upper chest area before it's replaced.
  23. Thanks for keeping us upgraded and updated Greg, your the best.
  24. Actually it just has to be mounted behind the belt. Rivets, snaps, or rigging plastic and velcro are all acceptable.
  25. The belts were canvas. There is a still of Luke on the death star that show it in great detail. I thought I had the picture but I don't.
