  1. From recent talks with Paul I don't think the standards are going to be raised anytime soon. MEPD raised theirs when they got to about a third of all TDs being deployed, right now we have about 2.7% of the stormtroopers as elite. Lets get a few more % under our belt before we raise the bar higher.
  2. Elite status granted, go get em trooper.
  3. The ear ridges they are talking about are the bumps on the ear caps, the RT has them. Also the CRL has nothing to do with the elite program, it is a text version of the Legions costume requirements for 501st membership.
  4. Sorry bout that, I slept almost all day yesterday (literally). The only thing I see that needs tweaked is to paint the unpainted rivet heads white on your armor and you'll be all set.
  5. Welcome back. Please keep us (or at least me ) updated on the car as well.
  6. That's what I have, but I paid three bucks more for mine.
  7. I'm happy with the final version. What we submitted was alot more robust but we did it knowing it would get get a rewrite or two before it was done. We'll have to send a message about the left shin plate.
  8. I think I'll comment more tomorrow. I've been trooping all afternoon/night and need sleep. But we definitely need to see a butt shot with the belt as the cut needs to be below the belt.
  9. I can use a shot from the first page to use for your profile, or you can take a new profile shot and show off the new bucket. It's up to you.
  10. The ears are not an elite requirement, but they have to be replaced or seriously modded if you want to go from 4 ridges to 3. Nice job filling in the teeth and earcap hole. Elite status granted, nice job trooper.
  11. Scott M does tube stripes for $3. Lenses can be made yourself using a green acetate replacement face shield from any welding supply store $5 and you'll have plenty left over, or you can buy them premade too. How does the brow trim stay on the helmet. Some are just stuck on with adhesive, others go under the edge of the dome. If it's just stuck on you could shorten it on the sides, but if its under the plastic edge, you may want to leave it to cover the seam.
  12. It's recast FX modified armor, and a SDS helmet. Don't take it too hard, it happens to alot of new people. At least you got your armor, and can tweak it as needed and move forward. If the helmet were mine, I'd extend or repaint the frown extending it farther to the sides, replace the tube stripes with ones in the proper spot, replace the lenses since they look light and you don't want your eyes seen in pictures, and paint the ear screw heads white. Non e of those tweaks are hard or expensive, but that's just my thoughts. It's 501st acceptable as is, so my suggestions are optional.
  13. All we need is a picture showing the butt plate cut below the belt. I would also need a front shot not showing the cod cut for the profile picture. Yes redoing the tube stripes and moving the drop boxes would help the overall appearance but would not hold your elite all back.
  14. Also many people use hard hat liners. They can be found at any hardware store or safety supply company for 5-8 bucks. I use green foam from JoAnn's but I need very little since I have a pretty large noggin.
  15. The ROTJ armor which is what the Rubies is based on had a smaller chest, but it sits higher on the body. As far as the legs, at least you can always trim them down. Also the FX armor uses doubles of everything for the left and right except the thighs so this isn't anything new in the armor world.
  16. To make the helmet a hero you would need to fill the outside tooth on each side of the frown, repaint the frown with the smaller narrower hero frown, and remove the bottom ear cap screw and fill the hole. Way back in the day TK4205 (I think) posted a tutorial for helmet lens holders, so you could switch between the flat and bubble lenses at will. Might be something to look into to save alot of time on the hero conversion.
  17. I've tried many chemicals and none work well. My suggestion is a black sharpie.
  18. Looks like your good to go.
  19. Or MEPD since he is dirty.
  20. I use Humbrol gray, and one thing I learned real fast is you have to shake it, mix it and shake some more. If you don't the color can very different out of the same bottle and the consistency can vary alot too.
  21. If it bugs you that much just repaint the bells and helmet (start with the bells just in case). The rustoleum pro enamel: gloss white is the paint you seek.
  22. Here are three caps of Han's belt, along with a couple others. ----------
  23. I'll post a HD cap of that as soon as I capture it.
