  1. Great job on the paintwork! One question on your shoulder straps ... did you fill the back of the first bump on the straps with abs scraps? I ask because without filling the back, you have a large void with either air or glue back there. This is a weak spot, and the strap might come loose after some troops. If the back of the strap (large first bump) is filled & E6000'd level with abs straps and left to dry, then glue the strap to your chest plate, it'll never move.
  2. It all takes practice, a sequence that works for you, and a table (or the top of your bin). Picking up items from the floor is not advised for TK's. My dressing procedure is close to Pretzels, but a little different. undersuit neckseal thigh garter thighs boots (you should be able to bend over and put these on) shins/calves torso (I have my back, kidney, butt, chest, and ab plates all pre-assembled as one unit. I leave one side of the kidney un-snapped and slip into it putting my head through my already attached shoulder straps. All my electronics are attached to my back and chest plates) belt TD shoulder bells with biceps attached forearms helmet white under gloves (very important) gloves grab your blaster For me, the belt and TD are the hardest part. I find it difficult to line up the belt while pulling firmly. I usually ask one of the other troopers to help me out for the belt. It ensures it's tight and lined up nice.
  3. Congratulations Sean! Welcome to the Garrison!
  4. Nice Work Bradley. The benefit of having two kits is if one of your parts gets damaged or miss-cut, you've got a spare on hand with no wait times for replacements. Keep up the good work!
  5. Good Start Gary. You might have to add "size arms, legs, and torso accordingly" to your laundry list of items to touch. You're on your way! Keep up the posts and pics!
  6. LOL. Good Start Andy. Keep the posts and progress coming!
  7. Looking Good Matthew. Do you need some padding in your thighs? Your left leg thigh looks like it moves around in your pic.
  8. Looking Great Sean. Nice detailing on your bin too! You'll be trooping in no-time.
  9. Hey Frank, Any chance you can pry apart the back of that thigh? It's very oversized, top to bottom. If you can, I'd suggest you pry apart the back of the thigh, and cut a triangular chunk out of the back of it and then re-assemble the thigh, covering up your cut with a cover strip. This will create a tapered thigh versus the cylinder look you have now. A tapered thigh will reduce the amount of padding you'll need, make you look less knock-kneed, and be more comfortable. If you do attempt this, make sure you can still fit your foot through the knee opening once tapered. You might have to put your thigh on backwards, and rotate it once it's past you foot. Good Luck & keep the posts coming!
  10. Congrats on your approval Trooper. I would recommend that you double up the number of snaps on your shoulder straps for your chest and back plate connects. 2 minimum (4 total per strap) to avoid any trooping malfunctions. The more redundant attachment connectors the better.
  11. Congrats on BBB day. You'll be happy with your AP armour!
  12. For me, it was impossible to find a bin that would safely transport the pack with the clear tube in the main body, so I settled on a longer bin. And I'm glad I did, as it sits nicely on my Stanley 50GL TK transport bin. My spacepack transport bin is 116Qt/29GL/110L.
  13. Proud Moment Today ... Pictures of my Spacepack became the CRL!
  14. I apologize it took so long, but here's a sketch of my setup.
  15. Looking better Stephen. Your chest seems to be the biggest offender now. You know it's sitting a little too far out and needs to be retained somehow. A hot water bath could also help its shape so it doesn't look so broad on you. A little padding in your shins and thighs will help lock those pieces in to place. You can also put soe Industrial Velcro on the front of your boots and inside your shin armour to keep them down and from turning. Keep it up!
  16. Nice! Start a build thread so we can all follow along! Good Luck!
  17. Joseph, did you end up going with / completing this mod? Have you trooped with your pack yet?
  18. Looking good Matthew. Pack that heat gun away as it's a dangerous weapon when dealing with ABS. If you need to re-shape something, try a hot water bath instead ... much more forgiving and gradual. Keep the posts and pics coming!
  19. Great Progress Tom & nice work on the bucket and neck seal! A few things that will need some adjustment (from what I see) are: your thigh straps need adjustment, move right side strap out, and move both straps so thighs sit higher. Even out the black between the cod and the thighs. padding - you might need to insert some padding in front of your shins to move the sniper plate away from your thigh. This will ensure the sniper plate does not interfere with your thigh. You might also need to add some padding in the back of your thigh to pull it firmly against your leg to gain even more space. adjust your drop boxes on your belt, check crl for guidance. Your forearms look oversized to me, both in girth and length. Do you have excess room in your forearms? Maybe you're muscular and need the room. Also the length. They look to be resting on your wrists, which will limit your hand movement and eventually give you armour bites. You might have to trim them for length and/or adjust the position of them on your arms. Han hooks aren't required for EIB or Centurion, but if they help hold your biceps in place then go for it. Please don't view these as negative criticism, but as constructive points. We want troopers to look their best and you are well on your way! Keep it up!
  20. Dave, yes, that looks like it would scare me too. finish the bucket; if you are still not satisfied, you can always learn from your mistake and build another one. The Dremel can be your best friend and your worst enemy. Get some scissors and cut leaving the line. Sand (by hand) to the line. You'll be surprised how easily ABS sands.
  21. Right now it looks like your shins are sitting high (and under your boots), and I can't tell if your thighs are hanging in the correct spot either, but they do look long on you. It looks to me like you might have to trim both your cod, and the tops of your thighs. Before you tackle your thighs, get those shins in the right spot, then make sure the thighs are hanging right. Looking good trooper.
