I always use ANGELUS leather paints. and acrylic finisher. --------- no stripping required. just paint and then seal with angelus finisher.

getting a count of the serial numbers of screen used blasters is most likely out of our understanding. as the production company did not track serial numbers from bapty. of course the members of the fisd have serial numbers in their rebuilds. but that is not a record of screen used serial numbers for sterling E-11's

waxes like pledge have color to them. usually will yellow a bucket. even car waxes are not made for plastic and will introduce metals which will rust. novus polish is the ONLY real way to shine up an ABS bucket. a painted bucket can be polished with fine grit sandpaper 1500-1600 many threads have been done about painting and polishing paint. most helmet makers shine up their buckets then paint the details and add the decals last... just like for a car model.

what is the elastic width and loop size? 25mm? what is the diameter of the loop?

My Ap tube is 7"

if you're worried about damage to the decals. clear coat the lid, then apply the decals over that.

you should paint the scope brass. the front of the hengstler is also brass. the base coat of the blaster should be steel, not chrome. the grips should be gloss black and the trigger group should have steel areas and flat black areas. all weathering should be very subtle and minor.

1/2" pvc works well for the inner barrel. I make the rear spring and you can make the rear end of the bolt with some PVC. then I mount the charging handle into the false rear of the bolt. if you put the inner barrel inside the false bolt it helps to hold it in place. here is a shot of doopy do mk I with my inner barrel and spring ready to fit. all you'd need to change is the bolt out for a false bolt, since doopy do MkII has the bolt moulded in only thing I noticed is that the T Tracks on the DLT 19 should not bend into the holes or be tapered. on the originals they just wired them into place without any alignment with the holes. even so... that is one nice DLT there man! what kind of 19 is it?

john, the sight rail you're using is too thin, and your hengstler is still too low. it can be fun to work out the details! I know it's hard to do! you should be using the 16mm steel, with cutouts at the rear. and keep in mind that your hengstler should overlap the mag well, and be at 1/2 height to the scope's horizontal. the hengstler should be just about half the scope's height to it's top edge. this will allow for clearance for the folding stock arm. the mounting for hengstlers was really really close to the body of the gun as well. you have it a few MM's out to far from the side. man I love how real sterlings look! keep up the good work on this... we all know you won't give up till it's perfect! GINO has T Track, and SABREFREAK on the RPF has track. I have some sabrefreak track and it's nice and all, but to really do this project true justice you probably should go with the GINO track. he has almost the exact style used by LFL. it's really expensive, but worth it! sabrefreak track seems a little thin. to do it right you have to taper the width at the end just as they enter the vent. and the width needs to completely cover all the holes. none should be seen like on the SDS blaster.
