  1. Nope, not me. Not much luck in the grouper department. Only a couple baby groupers to my credit! Fishing in the armor?!!! That would be a sight.
  2. Dang I'm so jealous! Still trying to break the 50 lb mark on a big hoo.
  3. Now your talking! Big time hunting and fishing offshore down here in Texas. We need to hang out Brian if you are in Texas or vice versa. Great looking sword!
  4. The paint is in page 2 of my shim thread. The plasti weld thigh repair is in page 8 of this thread- http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26001-haribon72s-anh-stormtrooper-ne-hero-build/page-8 He also has some great shims!
  5. Great looking paint job and build! Brave man making pancakes in the armor. Possible melting forearms like Steves thigh pieces!!
  6. Forgot about the mobile pages, you are right! You cant see the signatures and links. One thing I would do differently is make a MUCH smaller cup of ABS paste; I found a half full shot glass of ABS shards worked best, then just barely covered them with acetone, let it then sit overnight covered in foil, was perfect. Then after using it just chunked it. I wasted a lot of scraps on the first bowl I made, hardly used any of it! Yes, added onto the kidney piece. Biggest thing is to use the same plastic of course as the kit to get it to match, I barely had a enough coverstrip material left over for everything else! Also be SURE to heat and bend it FIRST before the glue and weld to get the shape of the extensions just right. I found out the hard way.......... the weld will start cracking; more paste, more sanding. If I had to do it all again, I think it would be a lot less labor intensive. You can save a ton of work on the sanding if once you have the seam pretty smoothed over, rather than keep sanding to get the colors to blend in, dust the seam with that paint in my link. It is a really good match and saves you a ton of effort. Like I said earlier there is another link somewhere where someone used the plasti-weld and then painted, and it looks fantastic. Did not even use ABS paste. Keep the questions coming and throw up some pics! Sorry the armor is all packed up, but I snapped this one a minute ago - Then I have the pics from my EIB submission- And from this past weekend, but dont have any real side shots, but hey, you wanted pics!
  7. I was thinking the same thing! If the movie TK's posted their photos we would have them re-adjust both plates!
  8. Under my pic in my signature- the shim it link.
  9. You can make the seam virtually invisible, but it is some work for sure. You will need some left over ABS from your kit for it to really match well, and bend with heat the shim in the shape you need PRIOR to the gluing and welding. You can use the ABS paste, a half shotglass is plenty, or I have seen a thread with plasti-weld that was painted and looked really nice. Check out the link below my pic. Good luck, pm if you need and post some pics of your progress!
  10. ^ This! But they can be a VERY tight fit. I have an AP kit and my melon barely squeezes in.
  11. Wow the kidney notch matches the ab piece just perfect- great job!!
  12. Cool thread! Tusken for me was my first 501 costume, RTT is the designation for Radiologic Technologist-Therapy, my job (radiation therapist). Zapping cancer patients with radiation.
  13. Awesome! Great job- very jealous. Mine came out like I was finger painting; had to get the Dave trooperbay stickers!
  14. The handguards must be thrown out- please send them to me for disposal! Like the comments above, same here. First attempt was E-6000. They did not stick at all and fell off. Second attempt with different glue I used WAY too much glue and I had a big mess of dried glue all over the gloves. Cut the gloves out and re-glued the handguards on another pair with about half the glue- success on the third try! We need to find us some thin leather gloves to use Andrew- it's going to be hot this summer!
  15. I was curious about that hole as well, but was thinking venting too. Could not see it from the pic of the back, but it will be close. Good call.
  16. I had the same problem with my Bass boots; I dont know how many times I put the boots on first and then had to take them off again to get the stirrups on! Great idea with the snaps; wonder if you can somehow attach the stirrup to the inside of the boot; I would still forget I guess and put the boot on first without the stirrup under my foot! Finally got me a pair of TK boots; world of difference!
  17. Awesome build! Looks great. While the above threads on the election were entertaining, it's good to look at some armor again!
  18. Great progress! Extra hole on the kidney though?
