  1. Brian is 100% correct. You can have 300 credits and no degree. A degree lasts a lifetime, and your education will always return a dividend.
  2. Yup. Uncle George sure seems keen on them ROTJ troopers. I'd prefer the base costume allow regular TK's to just add paint and be good, but the "must haves" and EIB should be much more of a stickler to detail. Nice to note that a light saber can be used in lieu of a blaster.
  3. If you notice parts of the suit are very ROTJ. The ROTJ ab plate button is inverted as well and you can see the ROTJ style door trim around the chest, etc. The proposed CRL calls this out, e.g. a trooper can use an ROTJ suit if they use an ANH stunt helmet and ANH hand plates.
  4. Troops: The year is almost 1/2 over and now is a good time to reflect on what we've done well, and what areas we as FISD staff can improve on. We're full up and should have appropriate bandwidth to address any and all ideas that you guys have. So...in the interest of openness and transparency I welcome *every* member of this forum to toss out any ideas you guys have on how we can make FISD even better than it is today. And...if there is something we're doing well please let us know that too so we can keep doing it Thanks all, Daetrin
  5. 1) Comply with all TK ANH Hero CRL requiments ------- MUST HAVE 2) Paint * Helmet, armor, and shoes must include all rank stripe details in Duplicolor Royal Blue that exactly match the videogame and action figure references (see visual references below). MAY HAVE 3) Armor can be battle-weathered (minor scuffs) 4) In lieu of using ANH base armor, troopers may opt to use ROTJ armor. If this option is chosen, the armor must comply to ROTJ CRL Requirements with the following exceptions * ANH Stunt Helmet must be maintained. * Hand plates must be ANH trapezoid instead of snowtrooper. * Holster must be worn in the ANH style.
  6. Thanks Jonathan - I was just using what the the action figure said. I see that the CRL has been updated to also say "Stormtrooper Commander" and will update our site. I'm also going to close this thread and create a new one, as the original post from Kevin is out of date.
  7. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. I could play a few downs of football in ABS armor and just abuse it (then again, it was my sandtrooper so the gouges were fine). The TE2 I certainly wouldn't do any stunts with it or abuse it, but would stand up well to normal trooping. I'm not sure I'd call the helmets fragile though. Fragile to me is a resin C6 clone helmet (ask me how I know). The tusks and bottom opening are prone to cracking but can be repaired with a little TLC. Again, I've had and seen a few crack there, but my garrison mate has his loaded up with fans, RomFX, etc. and does some serious trooping in his. As Mike said it's always a trade-off. Some people are just more comfortable in ABS knowing it will take more abuse. On the other hand, trimming HIPS is easier and it can easily be reinforced from the inside.
  8. First post updated! Thanks everyone for their generosity.
  9. Pretty awesome there mate! Man, it seems to like you as much as you like it.
  10. Yup, what I done too. I tried velcro...too embarrassing.
  11. Tony - let me know what the total is on shipping as that $$ should be covered by the donations. Everyone else: if you are donating items and want to consolidate shipping with me, I'm going to get the neckseal out to him (plus a few other odds and ends like E6000) in a week or so. If you want to piggy back on that box to Australia, please PM for my address. Greg - if you're happy to get some shires jodhpur boots I can send boot dye for you to use as well. I understand they are plentiful and cheap in Oz.
  12. Did you look at the threads where others did the same thing? Replace the helmet for sure and more mods after that.
  13. You said it T.
  14. Fast. Quality. Money. Pick two, right? For 30 days or less any suit can be done - how much free time do you have. Also - we're not the Wal-mart of armor. If you are looking to join the 501st this is the place to be. If you just want a costume for cons, this is not.
  15. We should all be blessed with friends like that.
  16. No fooling. Mine's pretty much empty but for three pads. Anyone willing to pimp buckets for others?
  17. FYI lads, from the LMO himself:
  18. I think it looks great! I cheated and had a cobbler put in white elastic, but I like the looks of your better.
  19. Looking awesome there bro.
  20. I've never bothered with a chin strap but am curious to try one that has just to see what it's like. Having less padding in the bucket sure helps with more air flow.
  21. RT also is like FX made to be easily put together. It's actually bigger than FX too.
  22. Received - first post updated!
  23. I'd initially for the base CRL there to be room for loose interpretation. This was done in all sandtrooper gear for the packs and BFG's for a long time until better parts became readily available. I could not be MEPD today with what I got my MEPD in 2005 for instance, but back then there just wasn't good kit available, nor good resources. So...let's keep it a little loose for CRL, and tighten it up for Expert. This follows Legion policy, as well as our own charter.
  24. Agreed - why buy from a reseller when you can buy from AP directly?
