  1. Did you want your EIB pix updated as well? Terrell is back and can help with that.
  2. Doh - you're right, wrong thread. Must get some caf in me. Sorry bro! And...thanks for your patience Tom - we'll get the board updated today for sure.
  3. Oh - also the butt should be cut below the belt, not above.
  4. True enough - ping us for sure when you get your TK designation cleared
  5. All kits can be made to fit. LAWS is now available, but I think a piece or two are still left to complete his molds. I'd suggest TE2/AP/LAWS for people under 5'10" as a rule, but as I said, it's all about what you do with the kit that counts.
  6. Realize that everyone has an opinion and you have to do what you like best. I went the dye route and like that best of the available options.
  7. I don't think so. First of all Mark hasn't sold any boots in years. The original ones (and yes, I do have a pair) are patent leather and not dull like these. The pattern is different too.
  8. Sorry about that Tom - sometimes I only have a few seconds to post something. I think your armor looks great and I really don't have much to offer other than a big smile
  9. FWIW, it doesn't have to be Terrell - I can approve any EIB anytime myself for instance. I'm sorry if the delay seems an inconvenience - if there truly were a backlog I'd split the job with him, but I'd like to think he can go on leave once in awhile
  10. Wow, it's looking tons better and you're really close. Great job there
  11. Good catch - it's beginning to be like finding Waldo
  12. It's not the color so much, just a very poorly done bucket that's sad. Bill's is EIB worthy, at least ;-)
  13. If it were me I'd reshoot the pix. They'll be used for your EIB profile photos, so why not have them be good? You can do just the thighs up if you want
  14. Hee hee Great to see a sense of humor about this. Graham - you're an EIB at heart already!
  15. Heya Darman - it's not that critical - guess I'm just seeing more AP/TE2 suits lately and there is certainly more kidney plate exposed. I'd think 1" off the back and just re-contouring the front to match and call it good from there. Again, nothing to deny Elite over but does amp it up a bit. I can certainly understand the work situation - my work's been crazy lately too.
  16. I have nothing to add on acceptance that hasn't been said already, but there are some tweaks to the suit you may want to consider should you wish to dial it up a notch, such as trimming the chest/back and shoulder bells a bit. Good job on the thighs, btw
  17. You're looking great there trooper! Hurry down to the tractor beam control pit, something funny is going on there. What? No d-ring? Bend a nail and git 'er done or whatnot. Can't hold up your EIB badge over something so small, when the rest of the kit looks so dang good!
  18. I worked all day Sat. No, no hotel. Yes, some armor is still needing some loving. Only worked 11 hours today - topped at 60 last week. Man, I need a day off
  19. I used an AP helmet with my FX without any problem. This was a few years ago, but I'd think it's not changed much and the closest match you can get for your FX.
  20. I wouldn't say it looks like poo to use rivets. A lot of older suits were done this way as most folks just didn't know about the technique Paul ™ describes. It will look fine, but the question is why use rivets when there is a more cosmetically pleasing, more accurate, and more secure way of doing this. Fortunately for folks with suits with rivets, they're easy to pop off and you can simply get a replacement set and then do the method Paul describes.
  21. That could be - I just used the normal snaps from the fabric store and again, never had much issue. Perhaps you're using small snaps?
  22. Do you have pix? My old costumejunkie FX suit had a snap system that I enhanced and I never had this issue. Even marching 5 miles in the Rose Parade or playing a few downs in football.
  23. To the other Paul, one should listen.
  24. You know when 200 of us marched in the Rose Parade we took buses back and forth from the event. On the way there almost everyone stood. After 5 miles of marching in armor, everyone found a way to sit on the way home. Most can do it w/o much modding at all though it can take some practice. There are very few TK commanders now - we're still working to define the CRL. I believe they are being admitted on a case by case basis of the Legion Membership Officer. To be honest - the staff have been swamped lately and we're a bit behind in getting this out the door. Part of the problem is that it's really hard to get a set of firm screen caps. I think we have all the info now - just need that final push on the Legion side to make it official. One of the last things though is for us to codify how the striping should look. There are a few variations, and we have to decide what is acceptable and what is not, and how to write it up so that it's easy and unambiguous as a guideline.
