  1. Denied, because you look better in your armor than I do in mine! j/k - easy pass and you know it!
  2. Remember that those are "nice to haves", not required elements for EI.
  3. Much will come just from the new vac setup. The other weekend I compared three ab plates: 1) Original TE2 2) Older ATA 3) New ATA pulled on your new setup There is a huge difference between the TE2 and your older ATA - the ATA while thicker yet more supple didn't have the detail the TE2 had, even to an untrained eye. The new ab plate you pulled - even with no changes to the mold - looks identical to the TE2. So even just from updating your vac machine, the level of detail want up a significant amount.
  4. In contrast, hurray for the Mexican postal system which got a coin to Legenddan 6.5 weeks after being shipped. Apparently I left off the city when I filled out the form. 6.5 weeks, but they got it to him. Now *that* is service, and I also praise Dan for keeping the faith.
  5. I think the AP lends itself better for a Hero than the TE2, which took Mike a loooot of work. TM is even better tho...
  6. As Karin said, why settle for just one? I dig the Hero, but in the end it's what makes you happiest that matters.
  7. Dare I say it - we're down to the final 5?
  8. Here is where I started with my FX: Replaced the helmet, here is where it ended up:
  9. Nice! Congrats to another great Golden Gate Garrison IE
  10. Wow, it's really coming together. You should be very proud of how this is turning out
  11. Wow, they turned out nice. I have a painted set of boots too and kinda like that they get scuffed. Yes, you have to repaint once in a while, but it gives it that nice lived in look, which can be neat in itself.
  12. He made it from white craft foam. What's cool is that it's EI quality. What a Dad!!!
  13. I have Mark to thank for it. Sometimes the best thing a friend can do is tell you when you're wrong and need to go back to the board. Ta Mark
  14. This is at least the 4th time I've had a set of pictures ready, and the magic all seems to be in the photographer. Terry really understood the sequence and poses which needed to be captured, and his talent for composition and lighting was...well the results speak for themselves and made all the difference. I hope to keep doing this until I'm totally grey - it's a huge load of fun. Cheers
  15. Well, the professional photographer bailed on me too, but I was rescued by Terry (Pandatrooper) who took these photos for me. LMK if they are not acceptable: Front: Side: Back: Left Side: Action: Armor Details: This one is for FirebladeJedi Look ma - new handplates (thanks John - I like 'em better than the ones I got with my TE2) Helmet Details: Blaster Details: Thanks again Terry!
  16. Ricky - up to your local GML. In the past as it was not an issue, but these days I doubt they will fly. What some GML's do (and I used to do) is give it a pass for membership but with the understanding that you (e.g. the member) would replace them in the next bunch of months.
  17. I have items from TM that when I go to the Royal Mail site it says that the USPS has attempted to deliver it, but there's been no notice on my door at all and when I go to the post office they have no idea what I'm talking about. A first as I've gotten other stuff from the UK, but frustrating to say the least.
  18. You are correct Noel. You should only have the flat smoke if you also only have 3 teeth cut out per side.
  19. Cheeky cheeky - play nice now Mark. Yup, such a comparo is one of the high priorities for this year. Yes, the staff has plans to take this on, but there's no preventing others from helping out in the spirit of troopers helping troopers. Think back to ForlornHope (Jonathan) and Nothingrecorded (Steven) who created the references for the TKC.
  20. I miss Carlos (Buttah Fett). Talk about a Sergeant At Arms (our first) - never a question on where things stood. I can't count how many times comments like "pisses me off one more time I'll punch him in the junk" were posted.
  21. Just a quick note for all forum members: If you are an official member of FISD -- that is, your costume has been reviewed and approved by your GML -- please make sure of two things: 1.Your group status reflect this, e.g. it says "501st Stormtrooper" instead of "501st Member" or "Member". Instructions on how to get your access level changed are at http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=7 2.You have requested being added to FISD in the Legion database. You can request access through http://www.501stforums.com/ and manage your Legion profile from there. Remember that there are TWO approvals steps needed. Once you have access to the detachment-only area on FISD, you will be able to take part in the DL question & answer sessions. Once you have access on the Legion Database, you will able to actually VOTE, and run for office. Both functions are conducted on separate Web sites. PLEASE READ Given the size of FISD's membership we will be doing bulk approvals for detachment status on the Legion boards. I'm sending Excel spreadsheets to Darren for processing, thus it may take some days from them time you request before it shows up on Legion records.
  22. Queen of more than hand guards - she's been a wonder and dream to have on these boards. Vielen Dank, Karin!
  23. Awesome! You make me want to do a clone now
  24. You are correct, sir!
  25. I think it's coming along great. One thing you can do is just velcro the backs of the thighs at first and troop a few times. This way you know you can do a few hours in the suit in different movements and be OK. The only caveat is to remember that velcro does add some space and give a little flex, so when you remove the velcro and glue direct you may loose some circumference. I'm actually pretty surprised how many people seem to get it right on the first go - for me at least it takes a few troops and adjusting between each before I really feel I have it where I want it. Ideally you should get to a point where you can get in/out of armor by yourself in 5 minutes.
