  1. Yes, I'd like to just to get it back in the queue, so that it may be offered to a future EI down the line.
  2. FWIW, the CRL white lightsaber applies only to the ANH Stunt. The TCK CRL is still being written/sent for approval, so this is as good a time as any to hash out what is: 1) Based approved (501st acceptable) 2) Must have for EI (and thus a should have for 501st acceptance) 3) Should have for EI (for those that demand ultimate accuracy)
  3. Actually Corey you may be right. Mason - do we have good caps from the game? The EI says: "* A white light saber based off of the video game reference may be carried in lieu of an E-11. * An SE-14R in lieu of an E-11 may be carried." I think it was due to what the LMO approved based on the sabers done to date, and also that I don't think we really scrutinized the screen caps. Mason - I'll back your call either way.
  4. Looks great! Love all the little details. For clarification, the lightsaber is not a required element, but if you wear one is must match the one approved by the LMO: From the CRL:
  5. Well, the guy who originally did the coin run was banned for life for selling gold coins on the side - perhaps this is one of those in circulation. I agree - would love to know the originans of this.
  6. You can solve this by simply moving the strap higher so it doesn't overlap the white sides. In the end the internal strapping choice has no bearing on EI. Just needs to look good from the outside
  7. Always - to one of the best guys in the det!
  8. Hmmm...not sure. Mail it to me so I can review it in person
  9. Lucky Floridians! Hopefully some day sir you'll consent to visit the Seattle/Vancover/Portland areas. It would be an honor
  10. I think the best hero make is TM, though the price is higher than others. The other screen-derived helmets (AP/ATA/TE2, etc.) can all be made in to a hero form. TK-4510 did a great tutorial on it. It definately takes some work though. AP or T/MC would be easiest to convert as the cap/back are already smoothed for you, whereas ATA/TE2/CAP-W still retain the bumpy cap/back, which will take time to fill, sand, etc.
  11. FWIW, I've been there too and had to order replacement parts. At least you don't have to go seamless LOL
  12. Will - yes, you're grandfathered in unless the detachment wants to vote otherwise. Remember the ears are just a "should have", even for EI.
  13. FYI I updated the EI requirements for this costume to contain some of the latest data that Mason has uncovered. The ear detail is clearly intended and visible and this is a "should have". The fifth ab button, considering it's on all game models, I'm thinking is more a miss on the part of the game creators and have instead placed that as a "may have" item. The gray drop boxes where already there, but I put a guidance to match the color of the ears as it's logical they'd be similar. NOTE: the CRL for this is still being written, but to date for the most part what the LMO has accepted is a ANH Stunt painted correctly. Though recent applicants have also taken the time to invert the ab plate, which I believe is a must at a minimum for this costume. ROTJ detailing (door trim, thinner belt/thermal detonator, etc.) so far has been a bonus step some are taking but not most.

    Thank you!

All, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for re-electing me as DL of FISD for one more year. I take this role very seriously and work hard to serve the needs of every stormtrooper in the Legion, from the newest applicant to the oldest veteran. Last year was very much a heavy work year and the staff was very heads down getting the CRLs completed, creating the Imperial Reception Center, doing multiple merch runs, and also getting the detachment newsletter up and running. While providing an excellent foundation along the way we’ve lost focus a bit on the whole reason why we came together here in the first place. Getting back to basics, in 2011 our focus will be on the rank and file trooper, especially the needs of those 1700 Legion members who’ve never been on the boards at all, or not for a long while. “Set for Fun is the theme of this year. (It was originally “15 minutes can save you $500 but some gecko gave u What can you expect in 2011? The last of the CRL’s completed (holdover, *cough*, *cough*) For new candidates A visual guide that breaks down the differences in armor between ANH, ESB, ROTJ, etc. A visual guide that compares the various armor makes side by side [*]For those seeking a greater challenge Enhanced EIB requirements that are more clearly explained, including visual guides A new “best of the best program that will be announced in harmony with MEPD (and possibly SpecOps) [*]For the grizzled veteran Renewed focus on ensuring there is a good stream of content for people who already have kits, as well as making such content easier to find, such as “cheap and easy upgrades along with “armor news. [*]For all forum users Re-organized content to make key pieces of information easier to find, and also doing a better job of keeping the Reception Center updated, lest we lose that one thread where we find out what really is the difference between ESB and ROTJ blasters. FISD is a treasure trove of information and assistance, however it’s not much value for those that can’t visit the forum often or who’s native language is not English. I’d love to hear from you on how we can better reach out to them. With unquestioned loyalty, Paul "Daetrin" TK-8020
  15. Actually Eric you use the comlink/grapling hook in lieu of a thermal detonator anytime you want, regardless of FISD or EI. We're not the trooping police after all The question we're trying to decide is if having this character who is otherwise with a hero helmet but in this one shot have a stunt is enough to justify changing the CRLs/EI standards. My answer is probably not. The Hero option is really trying to capture the configurations popularized by Han & Luke but also seen on the Tantive IV among others scenes, excepting costume flubs and continuity errors. Finally this has brought up several side topics, which everyone seems to have fun exploring and don't directly bear on your question at all. Does this help?
  16. Be careful on that butt plate esp the second snap. I tried doing that mod tonight and had a heckuva time trying to get the plyers to reach. Even using the hammer/anvil way didn't work as I had hoped.
  17. On the plus, it's easier to go EI from the start than it is to retrofit. Also, there are some really good troopers doing EU and ROTJ costumes now, so the trail's been blazed a bit and they are outstanding references. If you like, please do a build thread as it will in turn make it easier for others to follow in your footsteps.
  18. I think that may be as he moves. A side picture with his arm up would have been useful. If yo look at the other two pictures where his body is more straight on, both pix show a closed side gap.
  19. I'll chew on this for awhile then as the conversation gives much to think about. George himself was quoted as saying "Continuity is for cowards", so it's not like he really cares about such things. BillHag: "It's not the belt set up that is the 'prop miss', its the style of helmet." -- Yes, this was my meaning of my statement.
  20. Terry - I meant that according to the CRL the thermal detonator is a required element for the ANH Stunt, but the ANH Hero can opt to replace it with the combination of the grapling hook/comlink combo. If that is OK for the ANH Hero, should it not also be for the ANH Stunt? Alternatively, and this is how I'd see it - we'd consider that screen cap to be simply a prop miss. It's clear that Mark Hamill is the only trooper to have this setup and he had a Hero helmet for every shot. It's only in this one shot that we see this combo on a stunt.
  21. Does anyone object? Just wondering if it's even worth voting on or if we should just change the CRL/EI based on that photograph alone?
  22. Agreed! Time to get that EI app squared away.
  23. Congrats on Spain's EI #7. You guys are doing a fantastic job
  24. You know Ripcode, your reputation preceeds you. High expectations, we will have. A privelege it is to have visited the Man Cave of the ATA. Pix are a must. EI, or die trying.
