  1. Kidney aside, it's looking really good for a start. It's exciting to see more ICN's in the Legion - I think you guys may start to pass the TKC's in numbers at the rate you're gaining. Paint job is a big

    iPad2...

You'll always pay more for Apple especially on new items, and their resale value drops like a rock. If you see it as something that is worth $500 for a year of use before you toss it in the dust-bin, then I guess they're OK. I guess it comes down to what feature is so compelling you will pay a premium for it?
  3. Several people have told me they have "smoking guns" and complain when I didn't "do something" when presented to me. My position is that if they have "evidence" then it's their responsibility to share it, not mine. If they really care they will. If they do not, then it seems that while some care, they do not care enough.
  4. Sorry, links should be upated now.
  5. Wow - not a look I normally like but you make it look goooooooooooood
  6. Yup, will have to fix that. EDIT: Fixed!
  7. SciFire also offers hyperfirm weapons for about $225 or so that you need do nothing with at all. They will work for EI and most all Centurions even.
  8. The goal is not screen used. Else no stripes would be OK too. @Mark - some garrisons even say that neck seals aren't required, so what does that mean?
  9. The suits used in the movies had a lot of inconsistancies. While it's "screen accurate" to have/see a seven tooth frown, it's clearly was not the intent of the art/prop department, and thus is normally not 501st approvable, as the 501st usually considers these types of things outliers. However every garrison is different - you may need 8 teeth for your 501st approval but may otherwise be allowed to troop with a 7 tooth helmet in informal events. My garrison at least does allow leeway in this type of thing unless an event is deemed canon/formal only.
  10. Hey guys - please read through this and share your thoughts! We've tried to incorporate your feedback and all suggestions. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=14941
  11. The 501st CRL is to establish a baseline of Legion acceptance for each costume. EI was meant to tighten things up a bit beyond that. Remember when we first started the EI that out of the box FX was still accepted in the Legion, so it evolves over time. Centurion is to try to get to the highest level of a 501st acceptable suit. Also remember than when the TKC/ICN EIB's were created it was done with the best screen caps we had at the time. I'll be calling Mason today to review the ROTJ/TKC/ICN EI standards as we're getting a newsletter out today and if we're going to proposed changing the EI's for them I need to get those threads kicked off soon. I know it's a little frustrating to hold on a few more days, but we've estabalished that the EI's should (unless it's a minor clarification) always be vetted by detachment vote. Lastly, side rivets were never part of ROTJ and aren't for ICN on either CRL/EI.
  12. The salient point is what was used in the film for ROTJ?
  13. Mason - what's your take? I'm also going to pass this by the LMO... EU is a strange beast in that some of this can be rendering, and as one is capturing a look there may be room for maneuver that is not there when using a film prop.
  14. The CRL and EI show canvas or canvas covered. Leather is not accepted and while it's under consideration for the ICN I think it may be the case where people are rushing ahead of where things are. I really suggest people not try to go for Centurion until those standards are ratified.
  15. It's my pleasure to welcome two new members to the FISD command team: Bluey - the new Detachment Webmaster Given Damian's new garrison responsibilities it wasn't in the cards that we could keep him as a full time DWM. Noel said he was happy to be help out FISD in it's time of need. We're happy to grant him his wish and I'm pretty stoked about some of the ideas he's had already. Shooter - the first PRO Matt came to out of the blue (is that FISD blue?) and offered up his wealth of real-world experience in PR, marketing and communications (it's his day job). How were we to say no? The PRO will oversee all external communcations from FISD beyond the newsletter, including Twitter, Facebook, the Legion boards, and overseeing all PR campaigns for the det. This is a huge role, and one that we're happy to see filled. Dan (Debater2nd) is staying on as Communications Officer. The PRO will have a wider set of responsibilities, and COMM is being realigned as extended staff in the Imperial Propganda Machine. Thanks to Dan for staying on - he was the driving force on getting the newsletter going, whic has proven vital in keeping many troopers who don't have time to visit the forums often stay connected. So two new "blues" to relieve our "blues" (yes, an overuse but hopefully there is humor in word play). Please extend to them a hearty FISD welcome.
  16. Congrats! Great looking suit there trooper
  17. We got a lot of feedback that it was too confusing to have seperate areas for 501st as well as EI requirements, and that for both you had to jump back and forth a lot. In the past we've been loathe to put anything up as "501st requirements" as we've been told that there are none, but with the new administration in place they are taking a different tack. Some notes if I may: 1) This is a "beta" if you will. What we list as 501st requirements are a draft that we're working under the LMO to solidify. 2) The format will certainly change to have better visual references. 3) All the Centurion requirements are drafts so far and need to be voted on. The plan is to send a newsletter out to all detachment members by end of week, give them time to read them over, then open polls shortly thereafter. We'll start with ANH Stunt as that is the base for all troopers, then move quickly from there. If anyone spots any errors or has any questions, please do let us know.
  18. We don't have enough reports of Cfo from the field yet, and we don't want to add anyone until we have a series of positive reports. Usually this is via build threads, and so far the only one I've seen start one is on MEPD (Juan doing an SE sandtrooper).
  19. There are a few more, but they don't always post here. I've asked the GML's to review their troopers to try to sort this out locally, as we there are actually sub-categories that people can belong to.
  20. The butt you show looks overly trimmed, or not folded right. Compare that to these butts: ----------- Looks like a TM butt to me on the render.
  21. Wow, this looks great and very nice attention to detail! Seems this is a great month for incinerators
  22. Actually you may want to wait...The current EI says: * Pauldron should fold over the right shoulder bell and be fitted, replacing the bell (see visual references) However that was done when none of us had really made one and just looked off the visual references. As Mason and now you (Steve) are doing this, your opinions really matter, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on if we should continue with this or if it's better that the costume have the second shoulder bell.
  23. Actually I was referring to the rivets on the belt. Since the Legion requires both shoulder bells, so to does EI & Centurion as well. As Mason noted, it didn't look right anyway w/o the right bell.
  24. They will be when we do Centurion for the ICN, but are not needed for EI or CRL.
  25. Great catch! Historically it's been an approved "may have" for the EI ANH Hero based on the promo pix, and I have an ANH Hero EI. Sporting it for my second ESB EI while not screen canon is an FISD indulgence and in celebration of the 30th of ESB. I used the SE-14R as it's our "mascot" if you will, just like JDRF is our adopted charity. Will it be OK for Centurion? ANH Hero for sure, up to vote for other costumes though I'd think it would mainly be open to TKC, as ICN will probably mandate only a flamethrower for Centurion.
