Depending on your garrison, you could troop this way at informal events and people may not care. Still, it's a great excuse to get a second helmet, belt, etc.

The reason for the variation in belt width is that not everyone is a perfect 5'10" skinny actor. There is the same problem on IOC with belts - the proper width on a 4'11" female will look all out of proportion on a 6'6" guy. And FWIW, I think the CRL's are are in pretty darn good shape. Heck, some dets don't even have anything.

Matt - as much as I'm a MSFT snob, you can use Chrome as a work-around (just be sure to turn off all their snooping settings). Alas the Invision (people who created the forum software) team doesn't have this forum fully tested in IE10, so that's what I've been doing until such time as the web team has the bandwidth to figure these things out.

True, but right now it's not complete and we can't get to the old one. Having a new one that is better is all well and good, but what was the benefit of removing the old one in the meantime? I ask in that Terry (PandaTrooper) and I invested dozens of hours creating that content, which all now seems to be in the rubbish bin without anything better to take it's place. I'd be fine if you came up with something better, but am frustrated that all that hard work seems to have been tossed aside when that's not the case.

I would *mostly* agree. However in the past being to go to the relevant wiki page for boots for instance made it much easier. Also, there used to be an updated list of all the TIPS & HOWTO's, which is not updated anymore. Lastly, what is the difference between a tutorial and a HOWTO nowadays, and how do I decide which to go to? Before they were one and the same.

Whatever happened to the Reception Center on FISD that was based on the wiki? We had an excellent boot page that had links to the tutorials to make your own boots, but it's no longer there. In fact the whole Tutorials area of FISD is a huge cluster f*** now compared to what it was before - hopefully the new management will get it unscrewed this year. I say this as then it would be just a click to get to what you want. I was lazy and had a cobbler replace the black panels with white. Meltonian Nu-Life color spray 617 white was used to paint them. They've held up really well over time, needing only a touch up now and then. You can also search the forum using the word "Meltonian" to find previous threads.

Hope they get a new supplier soon - they've really done the job of getting (more) accurate (than what was available before) boots out to people for a very reasonable cost.

Well one thing is for sure, you'll still get a lot of photo requests. How the heck you're keeping your tan in a mid-west winter though is beyond my ken.

In the end, the two best suits are TM & RS hands down. You can't go wrong either way, and it's really a difference in preference.
