It's a cool idea but I never served in the military... One major regret in my life. That fact aside I would probably base my rank on my current lot in life. I have 51 direct reports and have authority over around 300 so I would place myself as a Captain but at the very least Sargent.

Thanks Locitus...as I do further research I am considering ATA. While I realize you guys do not endorse any particular brand of rig, the difference in price could basically cover the cost of my DLT-19 or a pack from Dirty Boy or QM. It may also enable me to do a second build for the GF. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I'm 41 and a father of 2. Now that I've got the resources to follow through on a 35 yr old love for the stormtrooper I will be starting a TD build soon. Your never too old and it's never too late to follow a dream or desire...we are a Star Wars and video game generation and age probably won't change that. Have fun with it...get in character and find those droids.

One last investigation before I commit....after extensive research I have narrowed my choices down to either AP or RS armor. Is it true that RS is the most screen accurate armor available? I like that idea a lot but it is definitely reflected in the cost. Budget wise AP is the fore runner where I am concerned. Was hoping for some feedback from people who know. Help me get where I am going please. I will be doing a TD build based on cantina captain. Thank you.

Awesome Thread for beginners....this thread has taken all of the guess work out of it for me. When I first started researching building a TK rig I was overwhelmed. There's a lot out there...like most noobs the first place I went was eBay...you can find anything there right? Wrong...you can't find the honest advise you need there. Then it was SDS ...WOW!...I can get a real stormtrooper rig?...but wait....theres more to this story...look at that price....they don't ship to the USA?...lawsuit? I better look into this further. On to the 501st and things started happening. I stumbled on to what would be my local garrison (Bloodfin) and emailed members there about there armor which led me here. Now I have a list of suppliers which gives me a choice...all I have to do is ask...and I did...AP will be the armor I end up using in the end... That guy responded quickly, answered all of my questions, and sent me a link on trimming. Besides that I think AP suits me best...(correct me if I'm wrong)....I'm 5'10...155 lbs. with decent artistic and handyman skills...I want something that I can eventually take to the top level, and of course there's the budget. My girlfriend knows all about the budget. I'm looking forward to this build and joining a community that loves the trooper. I'll be doing a TD build based on cantina captain.
