Indeed. Maybe it would be easier to use the same method as shown below for the folding stock. Just a thought...
-
Did the same and it worked fine. Not loud enough for trooping, but good for kids to play with. Depending on your time left for this project, maybe you just get such a Disney blaster, paint it black and add some weathering. Just an idea... Good luck Marc

As far as I know, Ian (Sith Lord) was the first person who installed that rotary switch inside the trigger section. Hadn't seen it before and then did it here. Little video clip of the working trigger here. Received your PM and replied

That is a very nice idea, Marc. Thank you for sharing this here Guess this will help a lot of people with their trooping-blasters...

Interchangeable ANH/ESB Armour [AP]
T-Jay replied to ComradeDave's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Dave, may I ask what you have done to keep your holster so close to the upper leg while your E-11 is holstered? Mine always looks like being close to drop on the floor if I do this. -
Thanks for all your ongoing work to create this newsletter. Always a pleasure to read...

Hey Kevin, happy to see your 2nd blaster is now completed. It looks very interesting and all your work paid off. What about your son? Does he like the weathering on your blaster and wants that now on his E-11, too? That counter looks very detailed and precise. Is it made from resin? Can you tell us a bit more of that piece?

My Sterling E-11 conversation

Nothing to improve (could watch these pictures for hours...) -
On the 10th of September you wrote: "...this is a slow burn thread". Well, it only took you 1 month from there to end up with this fully finished blaster, including weathering, self-made power-cylinders and operational folding stock! Not to forget your modifications on the counter, magazine cap and the scope with lenses. Congratulations on this awesome blaster, Marc. I think you can be proud of your work and the details that were reached with this kit.

Coloursergeant's Steel E-11 Blaster Build
T-Jay replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Very nice photos, Jon. I really like your result. And that last picture is just "BAMM"!!! -
Came accross the picture below several times since registering on the FISD, but to be honest: I never managed to find #31. Meaning, I can clearly read the text at the right side, but not in the illustration. Maybe because of the resolution or something. Anybody able to help? Thanks - and back to topic...

Earlier this year, I received another chance to join the 501st in my local area as a guest trooper. It was May, the 28th and 29th at the 10th anniversary of the RPC (Role Play Convention) in Cologne, Germany. Half a year after being in armor the last time, I wanted to accept this 2-day challenge and find out what happens, when you stay suited up a bit longer… Inspected the hallways with my Officer, David (Cody42) and we were stopped many times for photos. This guy scared the crowd, so a bunch of TKs took care and maintained peace and order Later I “disposed” the individual and convinced some younglings for the Empire On the first day I was suited up for 8 hours and drank faaaar too little (400ml). When I returned home that night and cleaned the armor, I was close to collapse. Not funny if nobody else is at home in such a moment. So, for the 2nd day (another 7 hours) I stayed hydrated A little glamour shot and a “behind the scenes” picture Had to remove the butt plate for sitting on that chair, but that photo was worth it. A very big moment was to escort Kevin (here in his Vader suit) to a photo shooting with Brian Muir, who had just signed his helmet. Woah, what an honor to meet him in person. I was out of words, so I just thanked him for designing the iconic stormtrooper armor That was a mind-blowing experience and I never thought, this could be topped – or at least not very soon. But just a bit later, I stood in front of Dave Prowse himself! Wow, the man behind the mask was right there within reach - and talked to us like if we knew each others for a long time... Alex (Memory) and I helped Dave getting into that same chair for a photo shooting, but unfortunately there is no photo available. However, these special moments are the memories to preserve and share with others...

Coloursergeant's Steel E-11 Blaster Build
T-Jay replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Great update, Jon. Another good thing on the little wider T-tracks from Roy is the fact, that the venting holes in the receiver tube are being fully covered. With thinner tracks it can end up like this: And thanks for mentioning the T-track tutorial. Glad if it was (or will be) of any help. When do we get to see pictures of your finished tracks? -

Very nice, Michael. Loving your detailed work - and the tutorial-like posting style. Hoping we don't have to wait another 4 months for the next update?! -
Coloursergeant's Steel E-11 Blaster Build
T-Jay replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wow, this worked very well. I was indeed curious to see how you bring that pattern only to the repaired spots. Well done! -
When you had posted the photo below in entry #26, (to be honest) I was unsure what to say about it. Later you posted a very nice weathering-update and the scope now had a much more believable look. Although Brian's hollow-scopes are the most accurate resin versions I have ever seen, I am wondering why you want to replace yours. Maybe you can cover this question when posting about the new scope...

Hey Marc, your folding stock looks awesome! Very well done. You have also put a lot of effort into the latest progress and it looks good to me. Your idea to create the illusion of a thinner casing on the receiver is great. I love such details

Bryn's E-11 Doopy Build - Better late than never.
T-Jay replied to sla73's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
... and another build comes to an end. Followed this thread with great interest and do really like what you made of it, Bryn. Congratulations on this nice looking blaster. You can be proud of your work. -
Hi Mike, thanks for mentioning (and using) the Blaster Reference. That is exactly what it has been made for. And you are on a good way with your build... That blue yoga mat gives a nice background to the bright resin parts (unless you start painting) Well, I know of at least one thread you have read, which states this screw to be in size M6 Outer diameter of an M6 screw head is about 9,75 mm or 0.384 inch. Just see if you can find something close to that...

Can't wait to see that folding stock in action...

Coloursergeant's Steel E-11 Blaster Build
T-Jay replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wow, what an effort! But once you are done, I am sure it was worth it. This will become a very nice blaster. Already curious to see how you close the remaining gaps between those receiver tube pieces... -
Coloursergeant's Steel E-11 Blaster Build
T-Jay replied to Coloursergeant's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hi Jon, welcome to the white zone That is a very interesting way to re-connect the pieces of the receiver tube. Did you drill the holes in the same diameter than the Sterling holes, or a bit bigger? The channel for the charging handle seems to be a little wider. Well done, so it cannot be spotted immediately. -
The FISD E-11 Blaster Reference contains a useful chapter (#33 Gallery) and there is this link...

Hi Richard, glad to finally see paint on this one Don't worry about the weathering, as your TK armor is (currently) unweathered, too. Will be a matching look. The only thing I would suggest, is to add a black washing on those screws in the Hengstler counter. But that is all just personal taste... Congratulations on this blaster
