  1. Nice blaster Scalawag! As someone who has owned four real MG-34s over the past 30+ years, let me say that you really nailed the weathering on this. It looks completely authentic to me. Unfortunately even though I know the MG-34 very well, I have only a superficial knowledge of the DLT-19 conversion, but it looks like you've also done a stellar job of updating those details as well! Please don't be put off by occasional brief comments here, this is a great place to share your work and find helpful info. I can't begin to describe how much help I've been able to source here. Also remember that this is a world-wide site, and mannerisms of speech and syntax can vary greatly from country to country. In some places it can be considered quite normal to make brief comments that may seem terse in other locations or cultures, but are not actually intended to be rude. In any event I just wanted to congratulate you on a fantastic piece of work and I hope that you will continue to post your projects here. You might like to checkout my steel E11 blaster project thread, you'll find the link in my footer below.

  3. I have elastic loops on the thigh armor that go around a nylon waist belt. I also use black nylon police duty belt suspenders to hold up the belt. You can get them on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F4HGJMC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I cross the suspender straps in front instead of wearing them straight up and down, as that keeps the straps from showing at the shoulder armor gaps.

  5. You definition makes my point for me even more clearly. A Facsimile or Imitation, is NOT the real thing, and does NOT imply that it is made of the same materials. They are by anyones definition COPIES. Anything you make that LOOKS like a blaster, no matter what it is made of, qualifies as a Facsimile, Imitation, Copy, or guess what, a REPLICA. Let's try to exercise a little common sense here, rather that keep making the same complaint over and over even after it has been thoroughly explained and justified.
  6. Hi Gerard, The word that you are misinterpreting is REPLICA. While you have your dictionary out, you should also look up that word: replica |ˈreplikə| nounan exact copy or model of something, esp. one on a smaller scale: a replica of theEmpire State Building. • a duplicate of an original artistic work. Note the wording "an exact copy or model". This does not mean it has to be made out of the same materials. A model of the Empire State Building does not have to be made of steel and concrete to be a replica. The "scratch-built look-alike" you want to make is allowed and described quite accurately by the current CRL wording. You should spend a little time reading thru the forums here and you will see hundreds of examples of how other members around the world are making their blasters and what they are making them out of (many of which are scratch-built). That will show you a great many ways to go about making your own Replica. Good luck with your project and remember that there are always many good folk here ready to help you out along the way!
  7. I did the same thing, I glued JustJoseph hand guards onto my nomex gloves with E6000 and let the glue set under pressure for two days. No problems at all with them so far. I did put a piece of cardboard inside the gloves when gluing to keep the inside from sticking together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I too have an RS made suit and I was able to keep the thighs higher up by adding suspenders to the belt they provide. I got a set of heavy duty black nylon police suspenders on Amazon that work really well and have big loops for the belt to go thru. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Great looking blaster! Really like the finish you put on it. I also like the blaster stand in your pics, may I ask where you acquired that? Well done, looking forward to the range video!
  11. Welcome aboard Jordan! That's a great looking armor! Well done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thank you so much Andrew! And thank you for the centurion tips. I will get to work on those right away, hopefully you will see my application before too long!
