  1. Following this thread since day 1 with VERY high interest The attention to the details of each part is absolutely outstanding. Of course there have been aluminum builds in the past already, but this one is extraordinary and seems like from a different world. Never expected so much anticipation for an aluminum kit but I cannot wait until the full kits are available... Count me in.
  2. Considering all the action scenes in R1, I would bet that this TK is the most comfortable one. Just look how short the upper legs are, compared to the OT TKs. In my eyes this armor has been made to look like the OT TKs but with a maximum of movability.
  3. Very clean work! I can only imagine how much effort you have put into this presentation beside the build itself...
  4. Hi Joseph, in the "Star Wars Collectibles Ultimate Studio Edition" there is/was a FN-2187 helmet available. Did not find the correct link, but at least here is an unboxing video. Jump to 2:30 mins to go straight to that helmet. Maybe this helps your friend. Looks pretty accurate
  5. In the last update I had forgotten to mention that each blaster in this rack is held vertically by the two horizontal supports with the cut-outs for end caps and folding stocks. By flipping these two parts from left to right, this rack should be (somewhat) compatible to the F-11D from Episode 7. Not sure yet but theoretically it could work…
  6. Update #04 - Measurements As promised, here is a little drawing from this rack. All measurements are provided in “cm” (1 cm = 0,3937 inch). Shape and dimensions are totally up to the builder. The only important thing is, the distance between the centers of two E-11 should be a minimum of 15 cm. One single blaster requires a width of 13 cm on the magazine side plus 7 cm on the other side. Each additional blaster adds 15 cm to the total width. The edges on the side panels were cut at 45 degrees, a-edges are 2 x 2 cm, b-edges are 4 x 4 cm.
  7. Thanks Brian, your scope with hollowed core and Andy's power cylinders are my favorite items in that lower shelf. Still glad how it looks in that display case Wow Michael, now you make me feel embarrassed for posting my poor side-project. It is nothing compared to your work in that room. Good eye, Ian. Currently one blaster is still in progress and was just good enough to take these photos. It will soon get finished. No hurry... Thank you
  8. Michael, you should really think about building something similar and liberate the blasters in your basement from those boxes. They surely haven’t deserved this… Thanks Roger. Have you meanwhile received your blaster kit? Curious to see your work on that with the completion set. If it will be the same high quality as your T21 build, then this will be something to watch… Yes Robert, I had offered to provide this information if anybody wants it. Very busy at the moment, but will soon tackle this...
  9. Update #03 - Fully equipped Was lucky to get a few moments with sunny daylight to take some pictures... Okay, we're done. Thanks everybody for reading and commenting. Have a nice weekend
  10. Thanks man. Glad you like it. Best regards to Spain
  11. Ian, be careful with that heat shrink tube. In my case it went bad: a paint flake from the rear side of the grip (sprayed 2 years ago) suddenly sticked to that tube and revealled bright DoopyDoo's-resin Thanks Brian, just felt this area in the rack to be a bit boring without anything there Glad to hear you like it, Aaron Hey Mike, thanks for your words and for stopping by
  12. Update #02 - Painting, assembling & weathering As the blasters are black, I looked for a dark grey color and ended up with graphite-grey, RAL 7024. Hm, if painted in black or grey, this could look interesting. But I soon skipped the idea, because this rack is not symmetrical. When the blasters are inserted, the cog emphasizes that fact. And most of the time, the blasters will be there. Well, sometimes less is more… Next update will probably be the last one and shows the rack equipped with blasters and accessories. Still waiting for sunny daylight to take final pictures, but currently we only have cloudy winter days over here… Thanks for reading
  13. Wow guys, I am surprised to see how many replies this build got. Will try to comment every one. Hi Joseph, I second your words about the dark grey color and had exactly the same thought. Black blasters in a black gun rack does not work. An imperial cog? Believe it or not, I already have one here and might add that later (not sure yet). Okay, okay my friend. Call it what you want. But this rack is simple, compared to the things you have built (you know what I mean) Hi Alex. Yes, you will definitely see it in person. Looking forward to our next meeting… Thanks Marc. Best regards to Manchester. Hi Paul, thanks for chiming in. Not sure what “the usual way” is, but for the side panels I had asked myself, how the prop makers might design such a thing for a movie… We seem to have the same taste, Joseph. For a possible update in the future, I already thought about battery-powered LEDs for each blaster slot. The LEDs could light up when the blasters are inserted, to indicate the charging process. We’ll see if that ever happens… Thanks Brian. Was lucky enough to find electrical devices with suitable circuit boards. When working on something new, I always run around with that project in mind. Sometimes it helps… Thanks, Chad Indeed it can be challenging to integrate such a thing into a living space. Haven't figured this out for me yet... To be honest, I could think of enough different E-11 to fill another rack (or even two). ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Bapty, Rogue 1, deac. Sterling and so on… Well, I am looking forward to your (and other people’s) gun rack build threads... Yep, the kit from Dday is a very good one and I am also waiting for what Chris (Fieldmarshall) will offer hopefully soon. Can’t wait… Maybe this here inspires you to build a rack for your blasters, so you can save them from the boxes in the basement... Thanks Louis. At the end of the day its just wood, screws and paint. Wondering what a concept artist would turn this idea into... Naa, that's just the bedroom Currently I am working on the next update and it looks like I have it ready on Sunday. Stay tuned...
  14. Update #01 - Woodworks Went to my local DIY store, got wood-fiberboards (t = 16 mm) and a nice aluminum tube (OD = 25 mm). In case there is any interest, I can provide exact dimensions and measurements at the end of the build… The next 8 photos unfortunately have a strange color distortion because of the electric light in that room. The side panels looked a bit empty and boring, so I searched for an idea… Hope you like it so far. Please feel free to leave critics and comments.
  15. Hey Ian, glad to have you on board I really do not expect this to become a masterpiece. Wanted to keep it simple, because it shall not distract from the blasters and accessories… Hello Brian, indeed I had checked some screenshots from that gun rack in the Death Star, while thinking about the final shape. Due to the design for long weapons (DLT-19), there was unfortunately nothing to incorporate into this build.
  16. Man, your shop must be heaven for every blaster builder
  17. Happy new year , happy new project… Since a while I am thinking about building a shelf to store my E-11 blasters and some smaller display pieces. Drew various designs and finally decided for a wall-mountable rack with vertically stored blasters (muzzles on top and grips towards the wall). Problem for resin builds: There is a risk to damage the thin ring holder at the end cap, if the weight of the blaster only rests on this. Thought about using a horizontal bar (blue pen in 3rd picture). But E-11s are top heavy and to prevent flipping over, it requires a stop (red pen). Unfortunately that would complicate moving the blaster… Diagonal placement also did not help, but a 3rd contact point (black pen) did. Repositioned the blaster to get some space for the smaller display pieces below it. Tried to give the shelf a bit of a Star Wars-look and changed the final design to this: Could look nice with paint and some greeblies. Next update will show the build. Thanks for stopping by
  18. Hey Felix, a nice Bapty blaster - as always Already thinking about adding one of these to my collection one day... Question: are the pins in the front sights "Bapty-accurate" this way? Just asking because in my reference photos the lower end is forward.
  19. Hi Marc, blaster and stand are looking good and you are already aware of the issue with the front sight. Is that imperial cog engraved into the surface of the acrylic glass? Just asking because (sorry to say) the design is wrong Can you still fix this? Sorry, man.
  21. Something else, Kevin: maybe you want to check some reference photos regarding the position of your drop boxes on the belt Just sayin...
  22. Would suggest step-by-step fault finding. Check the power source, the cables, the soldering connections and so on. Hadn't you planned to put all electronics onto that ruler (as shown on top of this page)? If so, it should be possible to reach all critical spots.
  23. Eine sehr schöne "Quer-Beet"-Einführung. Vielen Dank für deine Mühe, Christian Man kann solche Dinge nicht oft genug erwähnen.
  24. Hello there, chapter #31 (Measurements) contains this information: Steel receiver tube: 1.5" OD X 1.37" ID X 0.065" Wall And chapter #04 (The Receiver Tube) contains a link to printable templates Good luck and let us know in case you need more information.
