ShadyP's FOTK built thread (Backstage Props - preorder FOTK)

Great news, looking forward to those BBB photos -
Nothing better than a BBB, do your research before you trim, measure twice and cut once and don't be afraid to ask questions, there are no silly questions, just silly mistakes from not asking them. Good luck.

Looking good, coming along nicely

I purchased the cheapest one I could find at the local hardware store, I do suggest a lot of practice on scraps though, ABS has a quick turn from pliable to a soggy mess

I mount mine pretty much as Dave as said but without the gap, I hold in place with a few dabs of hot glue then use the corking/silicon which dries overnight.

hollowbodies' first build : ANH Stunt TK (AP)
gmrhodes13 replied to hollowbodies's topic in ANH Build Threads
Have a look in the gallery under RS and you will see a whole pile of measured coverstrips https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/59-the-rs-suit/?page=3 Correct sizing is: Arms front and back 15mm (forearm & bicep) Thighs front and back 20mm Shins front 20mm, rear 25mm These are canon measurements and are for screen accuracy. Neither Sly or Tony will ask you to pull out a ruler during L2 or L3. What they do ask however is that the areas look uniform. -
ImperialBrewerās first TK ANH stunt build WIP

Looking good, as you say just some fitting issues, hope to see you in the pre approval area soon, good luck. -
A lot of work goes into a first order TK, not like an original trilogy TK where you just and glue pieces together, FOTK has to be trimmed, prepped, filled, sanded, primed and painted, all this adds to the work load. I'd suggest $1000 is pretty cheap to get a kit fully wearable. Unfortunately with any hobby there are costs involved and the costume is the biggest part of this hobby, you do save on membership fees though, as there aren't any

Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks

hollowbodies' first build : ANH Stunt TK (AP)
gmrhodes13 replied to hollowbodies's topic in ANH Build Threads
With the cover strips most try to keep the fronts at a standard size and if needing to size up do so on the back side as the public doesn't see that side as much. If you really have to size up and the backs are going to look huge I would make the fronts slightly larger. -
I get bored waiting for approvals so start digging for details

Too tall for centurion? CFO ROTJ build
gmrhodes13 replied to Stroker's topic in FISD Centurion Requirements
^THIS^ Also you may need to make a few adjustments, your biceps and forearms look really big for you. Could also move your forearms upwards to reduce the gap at your elbows. Perhaps drop your thighs just a little to reduce the knee gap. Just in case you aren't aware you have to apply for EIB before Centurion It's a CFO kit -

They are different this has come up before. There are different pouches out there, the reference picture that MEPD use that are leather has cut corners on the flaps were the TFA version are straight across. The other type of pouches they show are canvas and the TFA are leather/vinyl as you can see the shine in the photo below. I made mine from scratch, not a very difficult job, templates are available from MEPD you just have to alter them so they are straight cut top flaps. Also the side buckle is positioned closer to the pouches. Left MEPD Right Trooperbay equivalent Mine Leather version with cut corner top flap Seems they can be sourced, just did a google images search and found leather with straight cut flap https://www.amazon.co.uk/StormTrooper-SandTrooper-Leather-Magazine-Pouches/dp/B06ZZW3PLL
