The Snake's Terrifying & Totally Amateur AM ANH Stunt Build
gmrhodes13 replied to The Snake's topic in ANH Build Threads
I would suggest using the top belt and larger cover squares for better accuracy. Don’t forget to cut the corners on a 45deg, Ideally they should meet up with the fabric belt so the measurements below are a guide. You only need a little material on top and bottom of the belt. Some great visual guides can be found here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41016-billgrams-the-one-stop-shop/?tab=comments#comment-554173 -
Nice work trooper, have you thought of using some tighter elastic in the sides of the ab/kidney to close the gaps. A couple of your cover strips appear a little long, shouldnt really be longer than the armor, they can catch when moving. You seem to be missing the black elastic which is attached to the bottom sides of the shoulder bells. You will need to provide a few images of your blaster, sides and D ring. Also close up of your TD screws, bit hard to make out if they are pan heads. Good luck

What do you think of this personal fan?
gmrhodes13 replied to Zippiesdrainage's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
I agree, even though I have two fans installed I only mainly use one, they are directed more to force are across the lens area so it keeps the vision clear. You can find the blower fans cheap on ebay then get a battery holder and switch, join the wires, attach some Velcro, an angled bracket for switch and you are done, normally you can find all up for under $20. -

Tarok's Anovos ANH TK Build - TK27777 Approved

Real life does have a habit of getting in the way Just watch the length of your cover strips, you don't want them longer than the armor as they can catch when moving. Coming along nicely -
Bumpy TK Build - Help needed (2mm ABS)
gmrhodes13 replied to Bullseye's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Tape is really good helping to close and make a flatter surface, you can put some tension on when applying the tape, you will know when you've gone too far as the tape will break. -
StormieT - Request Pre-Approval Review (TFA Jimi + DIY)
gmrhodes13 replied to lucent262's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Nice work, just watch the heights of your thighs and shins, they are a little uneven on the back photo. You may also want to see if you can bring the butt plate in a little, it is angled backwards. If you look at your side photo you will notice your belt and boxes are angling downwards at the front, may need a little adjustment up or tightening. Also your forearms are on the wrong way around, small square on forearm box goes to the inside. Forearms in Jim's kits are pretty wide, a lot of people reduce the width of them a little but that's something you may wish to do down the track it won't hold you up for basic. Don't think your GML will have too many issues with your submission cough cough -
Jezza's ATA Sandtrooper - Another Commission Build
gmrhodes13 replied to gmrhodes13's topic in ANH Build Threads
Belt made, snaps attached to belt, plastic section and ab. Incidentally while trying to fit the plastic belt section, I found out that ATA TD plastic belts are a different size to standard TK belts or they where way back in 2011, will have to contact ATA to see if that has been changed. Last inside cover strips attached, also last of snap plates Shoulder bell elastic attached Ab buttons attached Hand plate elastic attached Snipe plate diamond backing and spacers glued Waiting on glue to dry yet again, 100 more magnets ordered -
Hello and welcome aboard, I’m not familiar with this particular armor so by all means post up some photos once you have it in hand. Some may be able to chime in and offer advice to weather will need modifications. Also reach out to your local garrison membership officer as ultimately it’s he or she that will be looking after your approval. Normally this section is for build threads but no reason you couldn’t change the thread name once you receive your boxes. Research is the key to this hobby so do your homework, study the CRL’s (costume reference library) and look through some of the build threads to see what is required for assembly. Good luck

I agree ears are diabolical, some great threads with some helpful info: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29238-my-helmet-ear-tutorial/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27375-howto-draw-an-approximate-ear-trim-line-with-no-gaps/ -
Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks

They do tend to need some force to get in the right position, strengthening behind the crack will hopefully do the trick

Nice work, you could have received some feedback if you posted in the pre approval forum https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/193-request-tk-pre-approval/ A couple of things that stick out, looks like just some tweaking needed: Looks like your forearms are a little low and your biceps are a little high, you could bring them closer together. Your forearms also look a little on the large side, your left arm seems a lot bigger than the right. Drop boxes should align with the end of the belt. Normally you don't need a strap between the chest and back plates. Belt is a little high. Ab buttons could do with a little more pain. Hopefully you hear some good news soon, even if it's just some tweaking needed, good luck

Very nice, I added some veclro to my pauldron in case the magnets didn't hold, just folds under the neck Coming along nicely -
Doesnt have to be that crisp on the edges, was just easier to draw that way . Just use a strip of abs, heat, then form around the edges

Coming along nicely, try not to have any overhang on your cover strips or they will catch when moving.
