  1. Appears to be the same one in the picture above your post
  2. NO clear coat or polish will not stop ABS from turning yellowish. I trooped in a set of ATA for 7 years and suffered no yellowing, main issue is reaction to UV light. I don't see many have issues with yellowing, it may have been something with older ABS. There are some things which can help return to white: https://www.instructables.com/Restoring-yellowed-Stormtrooper-armor/
  3. It could very well just be a reflection on the paint, all the Hero references I have all show black mesh but I'm still looking
  4. The addition of the rims of hovi tips being white was a relatively recent addition to both Stunt and Hero CRL's, it was shortly after this some more research showed that the Hero mic tips where actually black inside (I think it came up in a higher level application, but I may be wrong), it is certainly something that should be added to the CRL Should we add a white tape option too

  6. They are screen accurate. I prefer double snaps on mine just in case one fails you have a backup
  7. Apparently 12 ANH helmets where used in ESB, one of those being a Hero, great read at Star Wars Helmets http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-ESB-stormtrooper-armor-helmets.htm Hero is in the middle rear of the image below Lots of quirks in ESB, did you notice the guy with his belt upside down, in the middle front, check out his side boxes (No drop there) Also notice most biceps are every low and some rotated, bicep hooks where not used to give the lower appearance
  8. Great progress. Good to hear the cancer is on a holding pattern. Congratulations on your engagement.
  9. Not sure why you would want too, ABS does flex and you could find the paint cracks or chips over time. ABS can be polished if you have scratches or marks so doesn't need a clear coat.
  10. Standard original trilogy armor does not need paint, only the Rogue One require painting. That being said there are several different ways to paint and types of paint, for my builds that require paint I use automotive acrylic paint, this is finished with an acrylic clear.
  11. Looking forward to seeing the progress
  12. Hello and welcome aboard, great to hear you have been doing your research, we have some great build threads for R1 troopers and also just added some more images to the R1 gallery sections which you will find here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/28-r1-tk-reference/ Looking forward to seeing those BBB photos and progress of your build, good luck
  13. You will find that the ears should cover that opening. What I try to do is add some screws higher up so you aren't tearing the bottom sections. I don't like using rivets as you are stuck once you add them in, or you are very careful drilling them out. Appears your brow height is very high, if you dropped this a little it would help the sides, I've dropped it in the following image which will help the inset curves meet each other, you can also add a screw lower which will help pull the ears in. Just make sure where ever you add more screws/bolts that you check your ears will cover
  14. Great work, just watch your coverstrip alignment next time you kit up
  15. Weathering added to the helmet
  16. Hi Peter I doubt you will get a reply as Mason hasn't been on the forums since Feb 2019. This is a thread from 2011 so some items may no longer be available, here are some newer threads on padding
