RS Propmasters ESB TK slow and steady build in Portland, OR
gmrhodes13 replied to Infern0's topic in ESB Build Threads
I find several thinner coats of ABS paste helps to reduce the amount of holes, takes longer but is less work, the thicker and deeper it is the more air bubbles seem to foam, I guess that's the thinners drying inside and it's confined when the outside forms a skin. Some times you are just left with holes when you sand and I apply a little bondo/filler then paint to match. -
Not that I can speak for the DO's but you will find there is a lot of allowance given to size , shape and detailing with these packs as the references are not the best, those measurements are more of guide not gospel. Here are the last 2 centurion approved packs just for reference as to what has been approved previously.

You could contact the owner on the legion boards https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28538 Looks like he updated his thread and now has all the sounds on his own website -------------- Now although some tracks say "Buy Digital Track" you can enter $0.00 and it will allow you to download any of the other audio files but if you are feeling generous you could flick him some credits . The TK is too large for web so is on his Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/Astrofreq/featured Here's the TK loop To download to audio clip you could use a free online converter there are heaps of them just Google "free online youtube audio converter", I use this one https://y2mate.is/en4/, just copy and enter the youtube link, wait for it to load, then select quality then download. As it is free software it can open up other pages just close those down.

Action Photo Background It makes our job a lot easier editing your images into the Expert Infantry Honor frames if you use a contrasting blank background when taking your action photos for your EI applications. Contrasting is not using a white/light or black/dark background while wearing black and white, it just doesn't work. Also taking photos outdoors, in sunlight, in the garden or in front of brick walls really makes our job harder. A simple solution is using a colored sheet or a tarpaulin. Here are a few examples of backgrounds which make our job difficult Here are a few examples of backgrounds which make our job much easier If possible please try to use a contrasting background when taking your photos, your GML's and GWL's with also thank you for it

You may want to make the stripe on the ridge more of a ^ shape

I've seen a few use some ANH pieces and modify. Most of the armor it's just the added U trim and some extra trimming in corners but with the AB it would take some work to remove the molded ab plate section, add a piece of plastic behind then glue in the ab plate and add some ABS paste. But in saying that the CRL image is using an ANH ab piece, notice the raised ab mount

You need a lot of practice on scrap plastic before using a heat gun, it can quickly go from almost pliable to molten mess, make sure you are very confident on using one before delving in -
Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)

That's what we are here for, "troopers helping troopers" there's no such things as too many questions -
It's more a case of what is seen/used on set rather than the timeline, we would never have had R1 armor if designers stuck with specific armors for timelines, after all ANH followed directly on from R1 so should be exactly the same armor

Nice work, you may want to touch up just under the brow trim, there is an extra detail line there which you are missing. AM do a larger armor but not sure if they sell separate pieces, you may want to check with them [email protected] References of the helmet under brow stripes

I found using toothpaste in areas you want to look like chips and scratches works well, you can apply with toothpick, feathered brush or pretty much anything you want, one your top coat dries you can rub off the areas of paint with the toothpaste underneath with a slightly wet rag. Others also use liquid latex or Vaseline. Lots of how to's on YouTube

That's great, all looking good and wearing your undershirt while trying armor on is best, well done -

You may be better off uploading your images to a free image host such as Imgur then copy the links to the photos directly into your thread, it's a better way of receiving feedback, rather than going backwards and forwards between the forum and google images. Here's a how to
