  1. Star Wars Visions Needs a few torches too, or at least some picatinny rails Anime Stormtrooper anyone
  2. For the TLJ-E I propose we move the laser ax from L3 down to L2, in all other costumes a weapon is required for Expert Infantry and above, (this is also used as an action photo for the Expert Infantry Honor Gallery). But he TLJ-E CRL only allows a Laser Ax as an option as they are not seen with any other weapon so using a blaster is not an option. For level 3 we could add working lights as we have with TFA and TLJ blasters, only issue I see is they aren't as easy to mod like blasters, that may have to be a DL call or vote. Optional Accessories Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use. First Order Stormtrooper Laser Ax Scratch-built or a 3D printed laser ax. Details to be painted black, white and silver per reference photos. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Laser ax must be present. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Laser ax must be present. Laser ax must have working Lights???
  3. This won't be included in the CRL here are a few situations were a trooper is seen with a variation or costume fail, here it's the inside/top of the forearm, no curve, cut straight and very close to the black oval detail, probably had shorter arms than most. We also see the curved overlap on the bicep Comparison Thighs open Backplate rising over TD Although we see what could be a TFA style cod I believe it was a twist as we see the cods bend quite a lot, if you take the jmage below you can see it appears to have curves on the sides but each frame it gets straighter like the TLJ style, also you can see a reflection of the raised/lines on either side of the cod, these are unlike the TFA. Some cods which appear to be narrower have just been trimmed in height to fit the wearer better so they appear not as wide as others, which gives a bigger gap between the cod and thighs. These guys really should have gone for the cod height trim Another one of those shorter TD caps, trooper on left
  4. You would have to take care but you could heat in a hot water bath and clamp with too pieces of wood together, this should lower those high spots. I use a heat gun BUT it's something you need A LOT of practice with, plastic can go from warm to molten mess in a blink of an eye, a hot water bath is safer. For the butt plate perhaps you could use some V tabs to clamp the pieces a little tighter together, also stops flaring Heat a strip of ABS plastic, mold over the edges, glue the bottom tab and leave the other side free.
  5. Looking good, normally you will find it's just some tweaking with strapping with RS builds and of course some positioning of things. Just watch how you are standing, your belt/ab is on a bit of a slant. You may want to add some foam behind your sniper plate to hold it outwards away from your thigh as it may hit when walking Match the heights of your shins, you can add some velcro or elastic with snaps behind which will help them stay down. You have a high point in your brow trim which you could bring down so it sits straighter. As you can see from the back, standing with a slant closes gaps, thighs are nearly touching, this will improve standing straight as well as bringing your shin down to the same level as the other. Also watch closing the belt, not quite closed properly, you have some sticking out on the bottom. On the sides notice the big gap behind your back plate, this could be because you are leaning backwards slightly or you may need to shorten the shoulder strap elastic. Also for your side photos you want to try to have the ab and kidney meet along their tops, they are dog legged at the moment. The holster straps are on a bit of an angle compared to the holster. Note the drop box is sitting under your belt, these are normally aligned to the belt. Nothing serious at all, just a little bit of tweaking. Good luck and hope to see you approved soon.
  6. Movement is great but screen references didn't have big black spaces in the back, sure you loose some mobility but so did screen seen troopers at the end of the day it is a personal choice, I prefer to loose some movement at 5'11" I have enough of a black gap at the back For screen accuracy you really don't want anymore of a gap than seen below
  7. The notch is fine as we see it in the movies, BUT not all on screen troopers had them, it was an adjustment for height, the taller troopers didn't need these mobility cuts as they had a bigger gap between the thighs and shins. We always recommend to finish off a build and try out the suit before making any mobility cuts
  8. Looking forward to seeing the progress. A small detail when it comes to painting is the rear scope is colored differently depending on standard or heavy versions Not all have a D ring (rectangle)
  9. Looks like they are from FB, that's were the links are taking me when I click on them. For some reason there is a sharing issue with Facebook images, can show for others than the poster for a short period of time then they become defunct
  10. Looking forward to seeing the progress, good luck
  11. Nice work, more for higher level approval but you could remove a small amount of paint from the teeth, they do look to be touching the gums, from the CRL: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Not sure what padding you have in the helmet but isn't sitting in the center, perhaps a little foam either side of the your head will help keep it central Looking forward to seeing you approved soon, good luck
  12. Hello and welcome back, it's never a bad time to put on a stormtrooper costume, if it's something you love. There are a few choices for the larger trooper, AM and RT are generally the go two. Check out a few of the build threads to give you an idea of sizing, many include the armor name in the title of build threads. Looking forward to seeing a build threas from you soon, and then on to welcoming you back to the TK ranks
  13. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
  14. Correct amount of ridges is not mentioned in the CRL, just a guide from the screen used suits. There can be a large gap between the chest and backplate under the shoulder straps, that shouldn't be an issue. I do find though that elastic on the backplate to kidney gives you a little more movement, nylon is quite restricting but see how you go. Using elastic and adjusters between the chest an ab can help when trying to adjust gaps/heights
  15. TLJ-E lights run up shaft in the black recesses of the laser axe when ignited, think this would be too hard to add as a requirement TLJ-E Riser on insides of forearms Nice view under side of cod, note the ridges/angles on top and crotch strap.
  16. When it comes to paint on the rear sight make sure you paint it white not black like the STD F-11D
  17. Hello and welcome aboard, lots of info for you in the Getting Started section. A great resource thread. Also some builds for those around the same height Good luck with the research hope to see a build thread from you soon. For Bo Katan head over to Bounty Hunters Guild
  18. My pleasure. Just this one now not showing in the middle
  19. All posts after your officer photo. If you click the links takes you to a Microsoft sign in page and even when signed in won't show the image
  20. FYI your images aren't showing up Paul
  21. POST 59 Appears a few of your links aren't showing up Must have been lunch time 1.
  22. If your commission is an ESB version you are lucky, with a different helmet and a few other pieces you could also seek approval as ANH version, here is a comparison check list for the differences between the Original Trilogy versions https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view
