The repositioned face makes all the difference to me. The more "flattened" face profile looks better in my eyes. The DL seems a very nice helmet that you don't hear much about. Does he only do helmets or does he do full suits as well?

I had seen pictures online for years of 501st members and people in TK armor. But, the very first time I ever saw one in person was at a local con called Shevacon here in VA in early 2007. Follow that up with Celebration IV a few months later and I was jealous of all the people in armor having so much fun. One more go around at the local Shevacon in early 2008 and I knew I had to take the plunge. Of course part of the TK mystique was ruined at the con because there was a armor panel which involved a member stripping out of his armor to show how the pieces fit together.

I used a heat gun, heating it from behind and they just kind of wiggle off.

Bit of thread stealing and necro posting here. I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to helmet painting. I've got the first coat down on my MRCE and I'm planning on hitting the second coat tomorrow. What typically works better between coats, wet sand or dry sanding?

I thought the Sandtroopers had some static burst. The Death Star TKs definitely did not though.

I've always sworn I could see a shell ejecting during ESB when Lando and Leia are escaping Cloud City. They give a close up of Lando shooting at those poor troopers who were just doing there job, and you can see shells ejecting.

The prices seem reasonable if the quality is there. UA and UA knock off brands are easy enough to get at Wal-Marts, sporting good stores and other similar shops, that way you don't have to pay shipping either. No 2 ways about it, regardless of what underclothes you have, it's going to be hot.

Yup, I've got twist my FX too. Before removing the original padding from my MRCE, it was almost unwearable because the lenses were sitting on my cheeks.

There was a thread on here about a MRCE redo that was done without painting. It's possible, you just have to find something of a similar color to fill in the front seam gap. I think this is the thread -----

How does an ANH v3 compare to an RT? I'm still working on my MRCE, it's been really slow going, but it would be nice to know what other options are out there to replace the FX for us larger troopers.

Great screen-caps! It looks to me like it's standard TK with the red coloring, no holster, and a pauldron with 3 ammo pouches. Interesting thing, it appears that they have an ROTJ style ab plate with the "upside down" ab buttons.

As a glasses-wearing melon headed trooper. I would love a larger sized, but accurate bucket. I can wear an MRCE, but not with my glasses on. I've tried on an AP and couldn't even get it halfway on without hearing the plastic straining.

It's a bit hard to get good screen caps for these troops in the game because you mainly fight them on Kashyyyk at night. Looking thru wookieepedia and it seems you can get these costume in the game by entering the code "Phoenix" That would certainly help with getting screen shots.

Clone armor kinda scares me. I still want to do a clone, but the bondo and the painting and the weathering.. makes my head spin.
