  1. I have to admit I'm a little confused on this debate. Are we discussing EIB standards or 501st standards? My 2 cents on the matter, if it's EIB standards, I think we should be as close to the info from the PS3/X360 versions because those are from Lucasarts. For 501st, as long as you match one version that is out there (Sideshow, Hasbro, etc.) Just my thoughts, and forgive me if I'm just beating a dead Tauntaun.
  2. I don't believe anyone in my garrison has a blastercore equipped E-11, lots of hyperfirms and modded Hasbro. I've never been told we couldn't use any at events. Every Garrison has there own way of doing things.
  3. Pretty much the same. As for the dimple, I sanded, sanded, sanded, sanded.. and then sanded some more and it's pretty much gone now. I've heard of others using putty to fill it.
  4. Congratulations!
  5. Not much going on this weekend. There's a big troop going on, but it's on the other side of the state and I can't make it But, I do get to work on my MRCE this weekend.
  6. Can you cancel your order or possibly return it?
  7. How can you improve something that seems to be running so smoothly? The only thought I can think of is something to help the new people. BS.N has a set person to contact for basic armor info, explanation of the acronyms, etc. All the little bits to help people get started. I think something like that would be good for new people. The armor makers are hardly a secret. With the individual makers approval why not have a "newbie starting kit." A new person signs up on the forums, gets overwhelmed with info, but they can PM either a set person on the staff or any of the staff who send them "the kit" that gives them a basic overview and answers some of the most basic new questions and helps to keep from getting burned on ebay.
  8. Sorry to see you go, but don't forget you're a Legion member for life. When the call comes back to you, we'll still be here for you.
  9. Common sense tells me to notify the people at the check in counter and security station of everything. Tell them it's a costume and prop replicas. I may be flying with armor later this year, so I'm looking into carrying case options and how best to deal with security. Helmet is a different story, that's going to be my carry-on. It's not leaving my sight.
  10. You've already got that manual. Everything you need to make the FX more accurate is right here on the FISD.
  11. I wonder about the pauldron, is it meant to be folded down like that, or is that just a side effect of it being "skinned" on the character model and not a seperate 3d piece. (if that makes any sense)
  12. Looks like you're off to a great start. 1. piece of advice.. The Clone Wars Gunship and Imperial Shuttle are clearly taking up too much room and you need to box them up and ship them to me to take them off your hands
  13. Have you tried wearing both the backpack and the TD tube at the same time? Also, it does look like you would need the pouches on the belt as well.
  14. It has been extremely hot here in the last few weeks, 80-90 degrees F and above. Would it make a noticeable difference if I was painting (and letting it cure) in the direct sunlight or should it be in the shade?
  15. Thanks for the info Terrel, I'll try that out this weekend.
  16. Congratulations on the new home. It is so much nicer to own a home and not be renting. Your story has been an inspiration to the power of the people in the Legion. We are so much more than just guys and gals in plastic.
  17. I've seen in most stores the "ESB Wave" Snowtrooper, Capt Needa, Hoth Rebel Scum.. err Trooper, Leia and Luke in there medical outfits from the end of ESB.
  18. No. I really don't like the primer I've got, but the selection in the stores is severely limited. As is the customer service, I asked one clerk for a primer for plastics and he handed me regular grey spray paint. The brand of paint is Rustoleum Gloss Protective Enamel, the primer is Valspar. I couldn't find a Rustoleum branded primer that said it was rated for plastic.
  19. I've been painting my MRCE. When it comes to painting I'm pretty much a newb. For the first time around, it's actually turning out pretty good. However, I've run into a problem that I can't seem to fix. I've got 3 coats of paint on there, with a coat of primer underneath and sanding between coats. A few spots have developed this type of rippling that doesn't to want to clear up no matter how much I sand it or attempt to spray over it. Just looking for some advice from some of the experts on here.
  20. Rewatched ROTJ today, I had forgotten how wonky those troopers looked. Makes me wonder how much was intentional.
  21. Welcome! I'm about 6'-1" or so and I've got the FX armor. ------------- There's a wealth of knowledge on here, take a look around and do some exploring. Lots of pictures to enjoy and can get an idea of what else is out there.
  22. Great find there! It really does seem like the lens are green. Does seem that this lends more credibility to the Green Bubble Hero lens thought.
  23. Pictures! That would be so great.
