Somewhat related... How does the sizing on the boots work? Are most pretty close to normal shoe size or is it better to go a size larger, smaller, etc.? I was thinking about paying the little extra and ordering from CA Boots. Theres just look better than most of the ones I've seen around.

I am new to all this and I'm just about to start construction on my first kit. I have a question about the neck seal (among many others, but we are just talking about the neck seal here). I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy one or if it's worth the effort to make one? Is it usually the same or similar material as the undersuit? Is there any difference in the different movies?

I'm far from an armor expert, still mostly a newb, but even I can see how bad that suit is. Is it just me or does it look like the undersuit is actually attached to the chest plate?

Wow, I wasn't expecting that much of a response. Lots of great ideas. I'm going to see how much I can incorporate during the construction process. The TD definately looks like the easiest way to go, but those box mods are great too.

I'm still a bit new at all this, so forgive some of the newb-ness of this question. I wear glasses, I was wondering do the glasses fit under most buckets? I can mostly see without them, so it's not a huge problem if I were to have to troop without them on. Just don't ask me to read signs or tell any kind of detail. Also, I was curious as to what do you do with things like your keys (either car keys or room keys at cons), wallets, cell phones, etc. Stormtroopers don't exactly have pockets. Do people use any kind of a wrangler or non-armor person to help out in this case? What kind of ideas have people put into there armor to account for things like this?

Awesome pics. This really seems to be more visually interesting than the thermal dets on the butt. Seems relatively easy. Has anyone else tried it out of ABS? Wood? Metal?
