  1. What about... That is pretty cool though. It's one of those things that makes you wonder if it was intentional or not.
  2. Anybody can add me. Murray1134 on Xbox Live.
  3. Congrats, and thanks for spending all your time away from family and friends to help others look good in plastic
  4. Welcome! Lots of great info here, regardless of the costume.
  5. Sounds like you got things quite under control. What kind of problems are you having with the snaps?
  6. TE2 and AP are quality kits. There are positive and negatives for all the different kits out there. With a bit of research on here, you should be able to figure out which would work better for you.
  7. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, whatever you choose to celebrate, enjoy it. May it all be happy and bright.
  8. I'm in the same boat as you. My FX is actually a good fit, my MRCE is tight and I can't wear my glasses in it. I have a garrison mate who has the same problem with his bucket (AP, I think), it's actually difficult for him to get the helmet on and off. So, you're not the only melon headed trooper
  9. Sounds like they strapped it to a swallow, or maybe a pair of swallows.
  10. Great news. The adjustment period of a new job can be a difficult one, but you'll get into a routine soon enough, and we will all be here patiently waiting for you.
  11. Post up some pics and you will get a wealth of great feedback.
  12. If you don't have 501st access and you are a member, you just have to post in this forum --------
  13. I copied Paul's setup when doing my strapping and it has worked great for me.
  14. I'll gladly do the work if I can get some donations to the "Make Murray Elite" fund
  15. Industrial Snaps, Industrial Velcro, Nylon webbing and elastic has worked the best for me in strapping.
  16. Looks a lot like a TIE cockpit in those pics. Very cool to hear about where the inspiration comes from.
  17. Armor is addictive, plain and simple.
  18. Thanks for the advice. I have no garage, basement, anything like that to use. I do have a storage shed in my backyard, though. I'm thinking if I paint it on a reasonably good day outside and then put it out there to dry away from wind, etc. That should work the best.
  19. Quick update after cutting the brow...
  20. I'm getting close to the painting stage of my MRCE rebuild, sadly the days of clear warm sun are behind us for now, and I really want to have this helmet done for an event in February. I'm looking for helpful tips and tricks for painting in the winter. Winters here tend to be windy, wet and cold, not good weather for painting. Oh, and to make it worse, I don't even have a garage to use
  21. Gold chains optional. Order 77 - All troopers are ordered to stop using the firing and accuracy range
  22. I'm right there with you about the skills. But, I decided to go all in for my MRCE. It's really been pushing my skills to the limit and then some, but I'm having a ton of fun doing it. I'm almost ready for the painting. Sadly, it's hard to paint in the winter here when it's windy and wet. It can be hard and it will possibly push your limits, but just think of it as a learning experience. Enjoy yourself and have fun with it!
  23. Anytime you see the name "Starfortress Productions" run away! Nothing but bad juju assosciated with them.
  24. Looks very cool. I like it, it's very sci-fi looking.
  25. Looks good so far. I would suggest moving your ribbed shoulder pieces forward, making them a bit more centered and even over your shoulders.
