  1. Don't think I've seen anyone cut out their armor like that from the mold before. Just don't throw away all those scraps!
  2. It's not required to have a return edge. I'm actually getting rid of mine so I can have that tiny bit of extra room to pull my thighs up a tad. Matter of fact, none of the guys I trooped with this last weekend had thigh return edges either.
  3. Looking great! You might want to consider going with a hardhat liner that has the built in sweatband though. There's a bit of cushion there and helps reduce any wobble.
  4. Mobility differs from person to person. Some guys can sit/lay down and be fine. Ideally, nothing will fail but depends on how you build your kit.
  5. For gluing elastic straight to plastic, you can put a patch of spare ABS on top and clamp in place. You'll see ukswrath always do this in his tutorial photos. That circumference looks right. I used my pipe for my thermal detonator.
  6. Finally had my first troop last weekend!

  7. I don't know what happened but there was some really good work and potential coming out of Diamond State Props.
  8. Nice! Well if you get stationed at Fort Drum after receiving your commission, you'll be in my garrison. Albeit, on the complete opposite side of the state.
  9. Even on Testors paint I stir it with a toothpick. I had to do some touch ups last night and I used the toothpick to fix a few small nicks
  10. The one with the square indents is the older style, the one without the indents is more accurate.
  11. Cool that they are letting you build your kit there. I thought that West Pointers were under strict rules during their stay.
  12. I thought for a moment Luke was going to do a whole Joe Dirt thing about the sister.
  13. I always wondered what your hands look like! That's a genius way to do it! You're almost there dude!
  14. I marked the screw length with a sharpie, took it out and cut it with a dremel.
  15. Off to a great start. Cool to see more MTK builds.
  16. Nice looking helmet. Love to see how others include electronics
  17. I'm deathly allergic to cats so their cuteness does not faze me. Glad to see you're back on the build!
  18. A third coat will finish this up. I wouldn't worry too much about squaring off that top part but with your attention to detail, you'll be able to no problem.
  19. Just make sure you give it plenty of time for the acetone to fully evaporate and the abs to harden. If you rush it, it'll feel spongy and you'll have a bunch of pinholes.
  20. Sure can! The key is making it fit properly.
  21. Awesome work! Yeah, I had about an hour window last night to do my box so I just winged it. Looking forward to see your trooping photos. Mine is next Saturday so I'm in just as a mad dash as you are to get things dialed in.
