  1. My wife just won't let me buy any more tools exclusively for my sandtrooper. It was 70 here yesterday and was beautiful!
  2. I was trying to make an Enrique Iglesias joke but it's ok.
  3. Just be a stunt and save the money. I can always be your hero!
  4. Just get TM armor and sell me your AP (with a friend discount)
  5. Ask yourself this, did plasti-dip exist in 1976?
  6. A-a-ron is trying to catch me on # of posts
  7. There's a few ways to do it. You can do like David but that gives an increased ridge, basically it'll look like this [ _ ] You can have larger outter cover strips that look like [__] and still be fine too. Here's an example of one of my favorite SWAT approved "Look, Sir! Droids!" sandtroopers. TD-10068/Millenium1
  8. I'm starting to think you're dragging your feet. How long until you can get a TM bucket?
  9. Someone is padding their post count.... I was the quiet NCO until someone really messed up or made me mad. I don't even yell now until I get really heated.
  10. Well we can't really get mad at that but you might as well order a new set! What are you going to do with an ear less bucket?
  11. I made little ABS brackets for my current fans and it causes just enough vibration on the helmet that my mics still pick them up. Just hoping that by Summer I have echo fans. My current ones will become exhaust fans.
  12. Why don't you just make your AP stunt and get approved while you're waiting for the TM helmet? You can get another belt so you can do both.
  13. I have the board dead center right below the tube contour and have it's batter tray in the contour portion. Hoping if I ever get the echo fan it I can hide the battery tray. I would advice you not to put the mics near the mouth. You're going to have your fans blowing very close to that area plus if you use a mic it'll be there too. You'll have fan noise plus feedback. The inside of my helmet looks like Swiss cheese from re positioning my ears and face plate. It only matters how it looks on the outside! And A-a-ron is jealous he never got to put his knees in the breeze!
  14. If only you knew how many times I've had to order extra ABS sheets from trooperbay lol
  15. At least you're not wearing a Rubies kit and getting arrested by the MPs like the guy at Drum. I don't think Nikes are imperial issued though. Just promise all us old crusty NCOs that you will protect your soldiers from getting blasted on US Army WTF Moments. And please study land nav so we don't have to find you!
  16. Arm cover strips are 15mm, 20mm front and back thighs, and 20mm front of shin, 25mm calf enclosure. That's fairly close to screen used. With that being said, the most important part is making the armor correctly fit YOU. For example, my biceps are larger so I have larger rear cover strips on my biceps. I was fortunate enough to buy AM2.0 thighs and shins to fit my bigger legs, but I am short so I had to trim a lot off the top of the thighs and the bottom of the shins. Plenty of guys have become EIB/Centurion & PO/SWAT approved with larger cover strips. You want the thigh and front of the shins to be the same size. So lets say you need 22mm front thigh cover strips.. make sure you use 22mm for the rear and also 22mm for the front of the shin. It gives off a uniform appearance. If you have large thighs you can also shim and blend it in so you can still use 20mm cover strips too but it's a lot of work. For your arms, you can enhance the inner elbow notch more to give more range of motion. Get a haircut or use a hair tie. Yes you can remove the return by the neck but it shouldn't be riding that high to be that big of a deal.
  17. Ha! Imagine wearing that under your bucket and then scaring a little kid when you go buckets off. Would make a nice addition to a deathtrooper for sure.
  18. Didn't mean that in a bad way. Just haven't seen it cut out in one continual piece before. Usually it's broken into several smaller sections. That's a good way to think ahead though!
  19. I suppose it's possible or gluing elastic straps. I have two sets personally.
  20. I just followed ukswrath's method and mounted the mics behind the ears and drilled a few small holes in the black ear stripe.
  21. I remembered batteries but forgot a screwdriver to open the batter tray. Luckily, one of my battle buddies squared me away.
  22. I had my first troop this past weekend and my fans died on me half way through the troop. Mesh does interfere with ventilation some and it's not cannon. I like to look of it so I have it installed in my bucket. I do not have the inside painted black (also not cannon) nor do I wear a baklava. I am naturally warm so that would kill me. Even with anti-fog, my lenses fogged up and I could hardly see. Took me a while to make my way back to the changing rooms due to being stopped 10-15 times for photos but a quick battery change and I was back in the troop. You should make your kit to how you like it. I was the only guy at my troop who had my forearm elastic glued to the bicep for example.
  23. Everything worked great but I was unable to use the SHA system because the fans I have now cause a lot of vibration on the bucket which the mics pick up on. I could hear decent enough at my troop without them but they will definitely help. Once Echo gets caught up and I can get his fan system I plan on doing Tony's conversion and using the battery source in my chest plate too.
  24. The only issue with the ones with the adjustment knob opposed to the snap back ones is you won't have as much free space to stuff electronics if you go that route. No way I could fit my icomm, SHA, and their respective amps/battery packs.
